@@fiftyshadesofurban thanks. I just find it off to play with the left handed style, even though I could use my left hand w mouse really well but the right hand dealing with the keyboard though. Also with scissors, I use right as the blades are curved differently.
I have actually thought about this and I was thinking of playing with the idea of making one.. There's a growing community of people who make their own keyboards. They basically have pre-cut PCBs that you can get and then solder keys onto.. I haven't fully looked into it and how it works but I'm sure there must be some way to make inverted keyboards for gaming...
Well... I feel wierd replying to someone after 2 years.... But bro i tried it and fro me its like the I key is slightly to the right so my fingers are like in a very wierd position
tried it with keyboards like you said. it's a bit hard for me as I'm suffering from Erbs Palsy. i got Delux M627 mouse and Delux T9 keypad. but it's a membrane keyboard. there's no left handed keypad with mechanical switches. I've been eyeing Azeroth but it's too expensive for me. it's basically 3/4 of my paycheck
YOO thank you bro I got use to I, J, K, L and watching this made me change something I was so comfortable with, to something im even more comfortable with bro thnx
I'm cognitively left-handed and left-eye dominant, though I write right-handed because I was taught to (like Jimi Hendrix). I use a trackball instead of a mouse. It's the older symmetrical kind, a Logitech Trackman Marble. Been using a trackball for probably 20 years by this point. Anyway, despite being cognitively left-handed, I prefer to have my right hand on the trackball. My left hand does most of the work, and I orient my left hand with my left index finger on the "F" key, so I don't like WASD default controls. Instead, I use ASDF, which is the left hand's natural position while typing. In all FPS games with ADS, "F" is my aim key. Otherwise, it's alt-fire. If "F" is my aim key, "V" will typically be alt-fire. In games that have both ADS and alt-fire, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., alt-fire is usually a toggle, so it works just fine. Plus, it's fun to be able to aim underslung grenade launchers with sights that differ from the host rifle's sights (leaf, ladder, quadrant, etc.). 4:14 Not in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
I play left-handed with PL;' as well, and I'd say I'm not bad at speedrunning but lately I'm thinking I'll switch to default controls because: 1) Some games have A LOT of controls. Like RDR2 I'm playing right now. I'm just not going to spend my time reconfiguring all of them... 2) Some games don't allow setting your keybinds to keys like ; ' [ ] Enter, etc. 3) Some games don't have an option of changing controls AT ALL 4) Cheaper keyboards tend to optimize for WASD, i.e. you can press WASD all at the same time and still press keys nearby, where as with the right side of keyboard it's about how lucky you get, most of the time you can't press P+L and also press [, for example 5) All the keyboards are different. When you get used to a certain type of Enter, or a certain position of slash key, Ctrl and Alt, etc. your choices are limited (not to mention laptops that always do weird things with the right side of the keyboard to save space). 6) It takes a lot of time. Rebinding keys in one game is fine, if you do it in every game you play it's very time-consuming I'd honestly advise against changing the hotkeys a lot. You can still change them but try to base them around WASD is my advice. Just my opinion after playing (and using all kinds of computer graphics software that annoy even more sometimes) for about 10 years
I've never tried playing like this but it seems so interesting, thank you so much for the diagram. I can't believe I've never played left handed being a gamer since 2001 and left handed since birth lol. Shit! Now I need to go out and buy a left handed mouse. Any suggestions for a mouse?
My dad is lefty. Trying to get him to play some better games than FaceBook based ones. Something that takes brain use. I actually wonder if IJKL would be better as you can hit the spacebar still and a control button like WASD allowed. Also R can still be hit by a pointer. Your thoughts?
Same stuff here, my thought here is that the fact of being a lefty doesn't mean you can concentrate everything left-sided, then your brain might wanna seperate it to your left brain. Well I guess I'm not alone.
I just recently started to really begin to PC game, as I have been an Xbox One user for about 3 1/2 years now. May not seem like much, but I’m on it all the time. So the hours add up. My friend actually recommended that exact keyboard set up, but when I tried it, it doesn’t suit me. In earlier years, I used to play mostly on the PC, but the games were definitely not the same, so arrow keys were best. Racing games mostly. I have also had a fair share of other games(including an FPS, TF2). I made it by(barely) playing TF2. It was on a laptop too, but they keyboard hardly makes a difference. The only trouble I really had was space bar for jump so far away. With Scout, it was rough. I know with racing games, you literally only had to use the arrow keys(at least back in the early 2000’s), but I’ve been using them since I can remember. Games these days call for multiple binds and characters have multiple abilities. I have nearly 1200 hours on Overwatch on my Xbox and I would like to try it on PC. I haven’t found this PL;’ set up all that great. I was at another vid first before I found this one and he liked the arrow keys best. PvE and PVP. Has an MMO mouse, but that hardly matters when talking about a keyboard. For me tho, the more I can bind on a mouse, the better.
Oh shit I’ve been doing the same thing since forever because using wasd with my right hand was weird af since I couldn’t sprint and had to jump with my pinky
i was a level 10 faceit player on cs go with a simliar layout to this, only my keybaord is slightly different. I was thinking the adsact same thing and wodnered if anyone actually made a video on it
I realise this is an old video ... but it was first on my search for "best position for keyboard and mouse left hander" 2:00 - stop, stop, stop. So you are playing left handed but you're not using the arrow keys? why dude why? They are made for us. That and the mouse on the left is perfect for a left-hander. Right-handers are actually at a natural disadvantage using WASD, especially since they are not perfectly aligned to each other. The numpad can be used for weapons and equipment or yaw left/right. I do wish keyboards had a key either side of up arrow key for yaw (one Steelseries does that I know of) but alas, the majority of keyboards have 'right-handed prejudice syndrome.'
@@fiftyshadesofurban I see your point but I'm not too sure to be honest - for me anyway. Yes, there area aropund the arrow keys is vacant (annoyingly so) I'll give you that. But by moving your movement keys to the numpad you are losing 4 keys right there. I use RSHIFT for jump,, RCTRL for crouch (never toggle crouch), NUMPAD 0 for sprint and usually Enter and/or \ to open doors, etc. I have tried the numpad for movement before but found it too annoying as I could no longer reach that handy row of keys to the left - Enter, RSHIFT, RCTRL, \ and not effectively reach the Insert, Home, END, etc, etc. I guess if you have a KB with the INS, HOME, END, DEL, etc vertically orientated it might be easier to get your thumb to those. I haven't seen a keyboard with that orientation for a LONG time though. I reckon a KB with two extra keys to the left and right of arrow up and another row below DEL, END, PGDOWN would be great! But try telling that to keyboard manufacturers. I've been banging my head on this wall for many years. But my Corsair K70 is still freakin sweet so I'm still happy to use it as I'm not an uber competetive gamer. I'd try one of those gaming pads but they're all designed for right handers. The peripherals industry is very VERY scewed towards right-handers. Talk about prejudice. Anyway, just my opinion. ;-)
@@fiftyshadesofurban I saw IJKL being suggested. That's seems more natural on that side but that still give you that slight kink in the keys. I guess I'll just stick with my arrowe keys for now and keep chatting with the Corsair guys to try and get an advanced left-hander keyboard built.
