Haha thanks for the mention mate, though you should probably watch someone that's actually good at the game next time! 🤣
Lol
What are you talking about motorway Matt you are good at the game.
But yeah some people are extremely good I don't know how they get high high scores
Motorway matt!!
This game is the opposite of Biffa's Traffic Fixes. You start out chill and the longer it goes the more stressful it gets. ^ ^
When they say you have to keep everything separate, they're not just talking about keeping colors separate. Keep houses and the businesses they serve separate too, even if they're the same color. Otherwise you can end up with a ton of houses serving one business and ignoring a second of the same color and losing the game. Additionally, you can have cars of one color going all the way to the other side of the map and being useless. Keep commutes as short as practical and ideally keep the city as modular as possible. Great work so far though!
Biffa, if the viewers like these Mini Motherways videos, which means it makes sense for you to make more videos about it, I would suggest you get one out on Mondays (or whichever day the week resets in the game) and do the weekly challenge (and then however many of the other ones that fill up the amount of time you like for the video), that way your viewers can compete against you for score.
That's a great idea.
If it does happen to be Monday, he could make it a thing - Motorway Monday
@@benreed011 Motorway Monday I like it
Bryce's 2 Billion seems totally, legit - ha! Such a fun game! I had no idea that curved tunnels were possible!
Oh yeah! Going to get 3 billion next time 🤣
Think they are finding a bug like spiffing Brit would find
@@Indian0Lore "its not a bug, its a feature"
2 billion is impossible, or you need to cheat with the scores... Either way, seeing those 2 billions scores, means that this game has fallen victim to cheaters, thus I'm not playing this game. :-)
@@TheMISTERAMD hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Be careful moving motorways. Anytime you move a motorway, even if it's just moving one end of it one tile to the side, no new trips will be started on it until the old position disappears. This can be seen when you paused the game at 29:30 (right before you zoomed into the yellow area). There were no greens headed south on motorway 3, as you had moved the north end of the motorway one tile. There was one green car left headed home at the north end, but when you unpaused at 29:41 the old position disappears, and as you zoom back out you can see all the green cars leave their house at the same time.
I don't really know why they behave like that, seems intentional though.
@@WuxianTec In a way, it's actually the same behaviour as roads and bridges. When you delete a piece, you do not get that piece back until the cars that need it to get to home have returned.
I would have to check if it still behaves that way if you have unused motorways, but usually you won't have unused motorways sitting around since they are so useful. So think of it as your last road tile. You move it (same as deleting it), and you won't be able to use it until it's no longer needed by a car to get home.
The scores between 10k and 100k are (mostly, probably) legit, and they basically use the same strategies you do (segregation and blocking). They're just better at it, and more lucky (or more fanatical about trying again and again for days). The end game is insanely stressful, you're always on the edge of losing.
That guy with 2B points is obviously cheating. Even with perfect play, he could not have possibly been running the game long enough to get that score.
Probably correct about 2B, but more houses and factories means more trips, so the game goes geometric after a while on score.
@@justinvenable917 Kinda, for a while. At some point the map stops expanding. Demand still rises a bit, but score will climb pretty much linear after that. Still, the order of magnitude is way off ^^
This is why I preferred mini metro tbh, there was none of this using road to block squares which just feels like horrible gameplay but the only way to get a good score. Plus the end game of mini metro was much less stressful.
this is like watching biffa from the past in city skylines - before he fully optimised.
🤣
Biffas Mario impersonation is the best thing in this video. Btw, this game seems stressful and relaxing at the same time.
I love listening to Biffa losing his mind. This game is so good! I've broken 10k twice but generally average only 3000.
Selection priority 1. Motorway 2. Bridges/Tunnels 3. 30 road tiles 4. Roundabouts 5. Traffic lights
Me: "Surely Biffa can't be any worse at this than RCE?"
Biffa: *Hold my beer!*
🤣
*Tea....
@@raistlin8648 😁
Oi!!
For me, I think, its very important to block any "towns" to spawn close to a existing one as when they are close together traffic gets hectic.
If you want to suppress things from spawning, do road tiles diagonally. Putting them in a straight line uses more tiles, while diagonal roads take up only one road to go up/down and over
This game is so addicting
I know right! 😁
Yeah it is so simple, but so hard i love it.
Literally just playing this!
Can’t wait to see how you do :)
Enjoy 👍
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines you did well! Anything over 2k is a good game for me :)
I like your trick for stopping random spawning. My current trick is putting two or three American style straight main roads from each side of the map as early as possible, trying to keep the arteries flowing :)
I just enjoy how passionate you get about this game! So fun to watch!! Loving your content Biffs :)
Thank you 😁
Not really a mini motorways fan but i'll even watch a grass field if Biff lad was commentating.
😆👍
Just small tipp, it is always better to angle the houses, it makes them easier to get out and into the house and stopping them from stopping. Otherwise they stop and the junction kinda. And also what actually helps, is to separate the houses from the shopping centers. Otherwise they all go to the furthest shopping center and causing you all kind of issues and traffic.
I didn't know Biffa already playing this game. Saw on other channels and immediately think Biffa can fix traffic!
hey Biffa, great video, I've seen other creators with the game and apparently, when there is no more room to spawn the game accelerates the demand making it more difficult for your houses to keep up, so when the screen is starting to fill up yo should free some space of the roads you placed to avoid spawning, so the demand keeps from accelerating, might give you a little more time to play
Interesting 👍
I love that you’ve been watching RCE haha! You guys are both awesome!
One tip I have that easily gets a good score is to preemptively create straight parallel roads (E.G. North-south) with two spaces between each, and a main road connecting them. This helps keep the neighborhoods of houses from blocking eachother off, and it keeps the traffic flow more logical instead of random.
Roads that cross over each other at angles do not connect. That allows for greater separation of colors and use of the same area.
This is painfully to watch xD I can't wait untill you learn more.
Use a tunnel on orange and get rid of the one on Blue.
It's already going pearshaped so fast xD
this game is kinda grow on me, also i like hearing you frustrated, in cities skyline you're more relaxed and calm lol
Fun looking game, waaayyy tooo much stress for me, love watching tho
Loved watching this Biffa! I'm still learning myself but I believe those greens at the end would have worked better if you added a second street on their left to split them in half. The traffic slows down tonnes on 4+ intersections, so creating suburban streets can make a surprising difference, but I too get wrecked by those mega neighborhoods like that yellow cluster you had!!! Best of luck!
EDIT 24th AUG Update: Three-way intersections now count properly as intersections and cars will slow down accordingly when passing through them. The fact that they did not before was a bug rather than an intentional design choice.
These have been super fun little breaks from the cities videos, I'm really enjoying them!
Note for you
When you build a bridge it can go as far as you want and it wont youse your road tiles
Ps.great series but please more cities skylines
YES! I literally want to make the video play on 0.25 speed just to get the most out of this video!
Your first video of this game, made me buy it! So yes, I love to see more videos =)
9:25 "Long have I waited" - Red house
Segregating works well early on, but if you go that route, you need to rework the entirety of the map to be desegregated around 1000-1500 points. Get a great arterial with motorways connecting long distances. Otherwise, there are too many areas to keep up with. Just like in real life, segregating doesn't work. Someone gets over looked and ends up collapsing.
Yes please! More of this, I play this game quite a lot myself and totally recognise myself in your frustration
Best part was the Biffa Mario. “Mama mia!” 😆
1 min in: I’m gonna keep it all separate.
5 min in: Nope, ain’t happenig…
I tried! 🤣
That's the way this game goes. You have to keep it as separate as possible but you do have to merge occasionally.
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines Sometimes you have no choice, but in both of these challenges I saw a few missed opportunities for you to re-route roads to maintain separation of colours which may have allowed you to carry on for much longer.
I am loving watching you play this. I'm trying to get better at it myself & it is very hard for me to get the blocking thing right.
I’ve never played MM but i think the problem you are having is you are trying to fix issues as you go along like you would in CS. But with this game you have to pause, delete, rethink, and restructure multiple times (as things develop). You have limited assets so you have to reprioritize as things go along. In CS you choose where stuff develops so you can anticipate traffic. In this it’s random. So when things start to clog up, you have to recollect your assets and reconfigure. Hope that makes sense. Love these little episodes of MM!!
I've watched this game a few times but haven't bought it. Now this game makes me not want to, because I don't have the budget to replace a monitor with a wireless mouse smashed into it
That Biffafied Mario killed me. 😂
Colour scheme washes out the contrast of the roads making it difficult to see them. Blends in with the ground.
I love to see you playing Mini Motorways. I viewed very much of your C:S-content and like your way to make videos.
Absolutely yes, more of this please! Great stuff!!
This game reminds me of a game called Islanders. It's just a puzzle game disguised as a city builder. Islanders has no timer, though, it's just a logic puzzle.
Thanks for making these, great intro to the game!
I noticed that sometimes you are trying to restrict all spawning in an area... It's probably best to let houses spawn but not leave 2x3 areas to restrict destinations spawning. That way when you get spawns, there should be enough houses to handle the limited number of destinations that you allow to spawn.
I finished the whole game in one day I love it so much
Even if they are in the same colour, try to separate their routes. 1 road for 2 shops + 6 houses is NOT GOOD. 1 road for 1 shop + 3 house. Then repeat.
More houses for 1 shop is not better, less is more. Traffic will always be good if their are less cars. Leave some houses behind and don't give them road access. Although that's very counterintuitive
Travel time matters , it’s better to have closer colors servicing closer cities
More of this game, please Biffa! :D
You need to be careful with roads making very tight corners on the entrance of shops. They'll make cars go slower (mainly highways have this issue)
Yes, please keep playing this, Biffa
I do prefer the cities skylines videos but these mini motorways videos are absolutely hilarious and amazing @Biffa
Thankyou 👍😁
I love your Mini Motorways videos! Keep it up Biffa :)
All my favorite City Skylines players released Mini Motorways videos this week so no city building which is a bummer. That being said, I can tell they all are having fun so I can’t complain too much.
Still had cities skylines out this week too 😉
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines what!? I didn’t get that notification, but I see it now! Thanks for the heads up!
i never catch a video the quickly! love chilling browsing youtube!
Since this was a daily challange, to get two billion points, you would need to get over 23 000 points per second for the entire day. So yeah, very legit...
I love this new game, and I hope you keep playing and doing videos
I quite enjoyed watching you play this game, I would love to see more sprinkled in between cities: skylines videos!
Does placing the houses streamlined diagonally to the road actually improve anything?
The red house to the left of the dark blue imax cinema in the middle right was left unconnected the whole time. Also, the tunnel + bridge and motorway in for the dark blues in the top right were kind of redundant, with some rejiggering you could have easily freed up either a tunnel and bridge, or a motorway.
I do think you had quite bad luck with how everything spawned. That map looks hard.
You should watch some of drawing dead's videos, he's pretty good at this game (scores of 5000+)
We want new tealand. This is good but skylines is better
First time playing? Spend a hour watch high scores. Get an idea like the red house in the middle you could have moved the "driveway" diagonal, left, right, up or down
Like what I don't get, in the end you have a ton of houses connected to the green "city" via highway and still so many journeys unfulfilled.
Keep going. Also: nice to see you keeping consistent with mixing up Highway and Roundabout XD
12:00 connect those roads properly. Thanks.
2 billion look like an exploit, either that guy found a security breach in the database, or he found a bug in the game that allows him to teleport cars (I don't think there's enough game time to move 2 billion cars even in a week at fast speed).
... Which is pretty silly, the only point of that is to show the devs that there are bugs in the system. He's probably going to get himself banned for no gain.
You should be amazing at this game with your knowledge of traffic fixing ha ha. Can we have more mini motorways vids PLEASE!
Enjoyed this video. I was wondering what it was like since I enjoy mini metro
this is probably the most frustrating video on mini motorways ever. so many decisions are just....whaaaaaat lol. maybe a few more episodes and biffa will start having better ideas. ooft, it hurts my soul how he plays. One saving grace i guess is hes better than city planner plays lol
+1 to more mini motorways!
I hope a update includes tunnels and bridges over and under other roads.
"how do they get 2 billion" imagine if the answer is "they use the trafic lights"? hahahaha
The secret has been found 🤣
Mooore IMax cinemas! I watched Real Civil Engeneer too))
🤣
It’s so weird. I watched that guy when he had so few subs and now everyone knows about him! I’m happy for the guy he grew sooo fast!
@@kgapaneseschoolgirlb Yeah, that's unbelievable
I was wondering, do you fix like just design in general, like having parks looking better, add some trees or nah lol, in cities skylines
I am C A C K L I N G with every groan and "oh my life"
They really should let you connect roada to shops from both sides.
Always nice to see something new.
I love the game, but it's hard to see someone with less practice play the game.
It's one of those where you notice mistakes more the more you have played, which in turn makes it less fun to watch.
A viscious cycle. I can only recommend you keep only as many houses to one specific place connected as they need.
That, keeping roads seperate from eachother and redesigning roads when opportune are the key to performing well in this game.
You could make a super long bridge
It was only a matter of time before Biffa subscribed to the "Pave the Earth" ideology.
You have so much less traffic problems if you just cover the Earth with asphalt. You can drive everywhere! And random buildings certainly can't spawn in awkward positions!
I swear biffa watches my streams! lol I learned to pause as soon as something pops up!
I've been really enjoying Mini Motorways! More please!
Thank you! I'd love to see more!
I always try and block out tiny islands. Houses on those are a pain.
Looks like the perfect game for Biffa, if the commuters would be tea transporters.
This game would be more fun if you could move things around. Even if its at a cost. The way its putting things around just isn't a lot of fun imo. You can't plan for anything and it only works if you abuse the systems but then it no longer becomes a realistic city
Great video Biffa! Gotta love the people who hack systems so they can see their names on top. You see that all over the place. What a shame.
I call shenanigans as well
Will we ever bring back non-city indie games biffa?
Er....what do you think this is 🤣
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines This is also kinda city based game right? I'm taking games like Oxygen not included, astroneer kinda games 😋
Bought the game because of this - now I'm hooked :-O
I lose your mouse a lot, can you color it or make it bigger so it is easier to follow? Thanks for the entertaining videos!
Is there a penalty for pausing the game, deleting stuff and rebuilding? I think that one key move after a while is to delete every roads, analyze where you are and rebuild from scratch.
Ignore the haters biffa. I prefer cities but I still enjoy your other stuff too 👍
Thanks. I don't mind people not enjoying everything. Just makes me 🤣 that they get so bent out of shape. Cities Skylines back next video 👍😁
Yay, I love this game :D

When it's done I will 😁
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines NO! We want it now!
I've seen people hit 20k and 50k, it is possible, but not 200k or 2billion.
Biffffaaaaa! You are soooooo entertaining. Had a blast watching! 🤣
Glad to hear that thank you 👍😁
you seem pretty good at traffic, you should play cities skylines i hear theres realistic traffic there
