It looks so cool!! Red and blonde is such an interesting combo, you really pull it off! Reminds me of Lindsey Lohan haha I love how shiny and fresh the red looks and the highlights add visual interest and make your features pop ☺️ I wonder if the highlights are gonna get tinted red with time? I've been thinking about getting highlights for the first time too, my hair is similar to yours but more on the blonde rather than strawberry side and now I'm really tempted to try them haha

Yes I think they will tint slightly with the red, as it fades it will probably all turn more gingery :)

Btw, maybe now that you colour your hair, you might reach your goal hair-length. I know for a fact that when it is done correctly, dying your hair is supposed to be a treatment (alongside the fun of it). Contrarily to bleach, which strips out the hair and takes the colour molecules out, dyes contain colour molecules that fill the preexisting holes in the hair, wraps up the hair entirely, adding another layer of protection, and thus makes it stronger. That is also why after a bleach job, one should always dye it with some sort of a blond dye afterwards so that the hair comebacks to its healthy(/ier) state 😉

what a vibrant, beautiful haircut and color! love that.
your highlights might actually get more contrast-y now that its summer, instead of going dulller, because the bleach will react with the sun. that always happens to mine. it might protect your hair if you buy some hair products with ph in them. not that the highlights wont lighten, but it wont be as dramatic of a change, and it'll keep your hair healthy while you have fun with it. i have a similiar hair-exploration timeline as you (mostly lol). natural hair, (then i had a fuck up and had a bad hairstylist turn me into a purple princess diane lol), then healthy hair journey, and now balayage with different lenghts like yours. and i have to say, i havent seen my hair get damaged yet! actually, the opposite happened lol. i invested in a kevin murphy shampoo and conditinor, and an olaplex hair cream, and then a ph cream. and ive never had such healthy looking hair! my conclussion is that hair science is beyond me, and that as long as it works, ill continue and have fun with it :))

If you want to keep up the vibrancy goldwell do a colour “enhancing” mousse, I don’t know how else best to describe it, but check out the shade 7KG to keep up the vibrancy and colour between appointments :)

I think this hair is timeless popular high school girl, you can't go wrong! It suits you so much! It's easy to be obsessed with having long luscious hair (I'm the same) but getting a beautiful hair cut and style that suits your face and style is so much better!! Good for you! Love it!

You should try a color depositing conditioner to see if you can healthily maintain the red color. Or giving henna a try, especially because it fills in your hair cuticles and makes your hair feel softer and smoother!
The first time you use henna can be rough, tbh. I've done henna before, and the first time it takes a week for it to sink into the inner cuticle of your henna and give you that smooth conditioned feeling. Until then, your hair feels rough and is tangled. But that gets down to the science of how henna works. it's a really cool plant! Mehandi is a great resource for this sort of thing...
I wanted to try henna but I know that getting highlights wouldn’t bode well with it, as it would be more of a process to bleach the henna out. But I will probably try it in future x

This just inspired me a lot! I’m a natural redhead with hip length hair but I’ve been really bored with it. I might try and get some long layers and those highlights are gorgeous! It could help my emerging white hairs on my middle part lol.

I am very happy for you :) I was also obsessed with growing my hair and natural haircare but in the last year or so I also stopped with that and started blowing out my hair and having a bit of fun and I am much more happy with it :D
I recently went a copper color as well and I love using goldwell’s copper conditioner to maintain my color and rinsing in cold water to make sure it stays nice and vibrant

Honestly, if all that work isn't producing drastic improvements in the health of your hair anyway, why not??
Something I like to do, if I know I'm doing a big chop in order to grow my hair back in from scratch...I'll do whatever the fuck with my hair. Like, if I'm getting a buzz cut in 2 months, why the fuck not at that point??
I also really love the first year of hair growth. It looks different every couple of weeks until it gets like 8-ish inches long, so that makes it exciting and fun. Plus I just love the idea of growing in a whole new head of hair. Really brings in the "journey" aspect. I've done 2 buzz cuts from long hair now. Each time I do it, I'm able to reflect on what I did well, what I did poorly, and what changes I want to make for the new round of hair growth. It works well for me.
But then again, my hair grows really fast. So that makes it easier for me. I cut it down to 0.25 inches at the end of October. Today, almost 6 months later, my hair is 3.75 to 4 inches long. I find it doesn't grow quite as well along my hairline.
Why don't you mantain the red colour by using a color mask or semi-permanent color?

@@IsabellaDemarko why! my hair same as you & I'm sure it's wavy & I don't like to try the CGM It's not my style or not practical, still trying to fix it. I find moisturizing the ends & cutting every 3 months is wonderful also HENNA & (Wild jujube sidr nabak) is good for thickening. BUT the more thing affect my hair I can't find natural shampoo at least without sulfate or silicon ..
