Nice one Al, glad you got some contacts.
I was out myself and had a good time up on the Wolds. We had a good bunch of folks up here. We kept to using handles and 10 codes etc for that eighties vibe.
Crusty Juggler saying ten ten til we do it again.
Oh yeah, enjoyed your live stream too.

Fair play for giving it a go Al. Weather put paid to my plans - I was at a camp site in Wales and was going up a big hill on foot but, in that storm, it would have been almost suicidal! Cheers.

I missed it this year, it was horizontal rain here, and I have no power in my car. Should be a fuse, but it is ok, so until it stops raining, I ain't going out to look for another fuse that I don't know about! Maybe next year.

I had a listen from home but most of UK40 is clobbered by PLT noise for me so didn't hear much, think I was picking up Andy 26Z1 at one point but that's about it, glad you managed to get out for a play even with the weather.

That would be great to get you on FM, but sorry to say we have more QRM or noise on FM now especially if you live in a city like I do, but you never know. I remember many years ago late 80s we had an amazing day of stateside coming through on our CH 14 which was our calling channel, back in the early 80s.

    Hi Al, Mark Tornado, 26AMC197.
Good to see you out mate, well done for making the time and the effort, and thank you for all the great vids, it really helps promote the hobby.
I run a smallish linear in the mobile, but, I run it through an appropriately rated Low-Pass Filter.
It's fitted between the linear and the antenna, to make double sure that I radiate nothing 'untoward', so causing easily/cheaply avoided RFI.
These usually have an insertion loss approx 1dB(10%), but I think absolutely essential, particularly if you do videos of using an 'amp'.
I think it would demonstrate a responsible approach to what we do.
I'm not radio Police in any way, it's just such an 'easy-win' in my most humble opinion (id hate to see any grassers give you grief, cos most of us love what you do)
Cheers Al, sorry for the long 'over'.

No problem bud and thanks for the info, I always do my best and make sure I don't cause any interference, I certainly wasn't kicking that much out with only 4 watts in, but just tried it to see how far I could get on FM
