The time and attention to detail shown in this video is very well done. Subscribed, liked, and leaving this comment for the youtube algorithm. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching and subscribe! 😉👍
I like how the X6200's frequency font is improved over the X6100, with the 100 Hz, 10 Hz, and 1 Hz digits are smaller than the rest of the frequency readout. The size difference helps to better visually communicate what the operator is adjusting. Compare with the X6100 at 24:17 into the video.
Oh good! It has the very useful audio waveform display on the screen just like the 6100! ....said no one ever.

Great video! Thanks! The FT8 decoder is fantastic for quickly checking overall conditions. Great implementation.
It's very nice review! Really helpful to choose QRP radio. X6200 detachable battery system is very useful. Thanks a lot Paul.
Excellent review of this radio, thank you very much!
I have two Xiegu radios, G90 and 6100. I have always felt like a beta tester. I bought the 705 and have never looked back.
I agree but they are getting better. In 10 years I wouldn’t be surprised if Xeigu becomes a serious contender in this niche.
TX-500 ? )
705 is way overpriced and still full of problems. On top of that no tuner and a dull uninspiring screen. I bought the X6100 and with the latest firmware have never looked back.
Du sprichst so schön einfach englisch...... Danke !
Exquisite voice and camera work. Delight to watch and so informative. I've subscribed.
Thank you very very much! 😉
Excellent presentation and review!!!
Thank you! 😊
I hope that the GPS module would provide automatic time synchronization for the X6200.
Thanks for the test Paul, You did a great job (as always).
I was really thinking of buying a 6100 last year. But there were so many bugs, and complaints about it, that I decided to go for the 705 instead, and I didn't regret it.
lack of tuner is a deal breaker for me. i don't know why they wouldn't put a tuner in it. when you get to field day, you need to be able to use it with any of the many antennas setup, and having that tuner just makes it so easy
Price point. ocom and Yaesu have their QRP rigs for 4 digits not high three...
705 is way overpriced and still full of problems. On top of that no tuner and a dull uninspiring screen. I bought the X6100 and with the latest firmware have never looked back.
Another great video. I use a G5RV. Always had great results with that. You did a lot better than I would've with it. I would've had a giant knot of wire.
Comprehensive review, thank you Paul.
Thank you 😊👍
Ciao non ho mai trovato un video così dettagliato ti faccio i complimenti 73 dall'italia
Thank you for your very informative and helpful seminars 👋
🎯
Amazing video thats my next radio for HF thank you ❤🎉😊
Hello Paul - thank you for such an in-depth review - really nice rig but priced at €929.00 its a bit pricy. I have the G90 and find it one great rig. Well wear with your new rig. 73
Add a little more and get a icom ic 705.
@@sulochanasatyan7228 You couldn't give me a 705, what a waste of money.
Excellent presentation. I'm waiting for one from WiMo. I saw in the presentation that touching a single button at the top also moves the others. It's strange that the screws are so cheap on Aliexpress, I'm going to buy a bag and make some holes to fix them. After that, we will focus on the software to see what we can do to make it OK. Too bad it's so beautiful, but he didn't like the old school. Thank you all for impressions and best review. In last second I change the order to IC-705. Now I got rid of the emotions of a banal beginning. It is unlikely to change the poles of the earth at such a low price.
Thank you for the excellent review. I was not in the market for this kind of device, but I am now. I also appreciate the link to the antenna information. Very useful.
The x7300 will be the radio to get! It needs a touch screen. Going to wait.
The 7300 is now a vintage radio and never was great, just cheap. Get a FT-710, better than every Icom ever made including their flagship model. Number 4 on the Sherwood list. I will not sell my X6100, with the latest firmware it is awesome. The 6200 will be better with firmware updates.
Thanks again, Paul, for one more of your good and informative videos!
I´ve got my X6200 4 days ago being less lucky than you with my device. Yesterday I sent it back. Would be intersting for me if you noticed also one or more of the issues my X6200 had.
It would be a nice rig (pretty housing, excellent display, good working noisreduction, many features), if there weren´t some unacceptable issues:
- every few seconds a "POWER FAIL. POWER DOWN IN 179S"-message pops up midscreen
- transceiver gets hot even without any transmitting
- SWR-Scan always shows excellent SWR across the whole band, even with totally inappropriate antennas connected
- ATU doesn´t work right, after tuning, SWR is still worse than 1:2 and transceiver switches power to 1W
- S-Meter doesn´t work properly. Even with very strong signals (S9+30dB) it shows not more than S5. Most of the time it shows S0-S1
- FM broadcast band nearly deaf. I normally receive 50-60 stations here. With X6200 I can use 3 of them...
Keep your good work, 73, Bernhard
Wow. Xiegu radios would be great if they really fullfiled the great paper specs without tons of bugs and traps that make a potentially cool radio finally unusable. So maybe to get an X6100 for cheaper now as the X6200 might lower the price of X6100, while the X6100 might have got rid of most of the stupid bugs?
Hallo Bernhard,

Vy 73 Claudia DF1UX 👋
@@claudiafriedberg6248 Hallo Claudia, Du hast in allen Punkten ganz sicher Recht.
It looks so smart and much better than previous China radio.
I wish these had a so239 instead of those connectors
Great review. Thank you for your time.
A very nice and thorough review. The 6100 has problems with numerous spurs, especially in the higher bands. Have they fixed this? It is nice they included FM broadcast on the 6200.
ruclips.net/user/livev7Xmq2YY-hE?feature=share
The September 23 2034 fixed my X6100.
As always, you do the very best presentations I have seen on RUclips. Looks like a fun radio for QRP or whatever! Keep up the great work. It certainly is appreciated. Rich W2FKN
Thabk you so much Rich 😊
Excellent review, Paul. The most complete review out there. 73 WØRHP
Not sure if I should Wait for the 6300.. (Never Ends LOL) now I want this one (Nice Radio)👍
I donno, but I have feeling that the next model will have also 2m/70cm included, like an ICOM 705, that would be great! :)
@@OM0ET Yes that would be great for sure.. (Crossing Fingers 🤞And Hope)
This was fantastic. I am a fan of this radio. Camping and pota would be great. I also like the all band functions. How far did you reach from the activation?
It's quite a challenging to shield RFI for from a built in LCD in a radio of this bandwidth. Perhaps the full production version will address this a bit better.
no chance )
Great video! Thanks! Very well informative. :)
fantastic review i didint understand most of it but i want one
A very competent looking design for this device. For use as a WalkieTalkie, it would have been better if the microphone was on the left side of the front panel instead.
I have MLA-30 Plus antenna also.
Good !!!
Great review
Hi! The S-meter is either incorrectly calibrated, or the transceiver has serious problems with the reciever sensitivity. The X6100 had a stable S9 at -73 dBm, with the preamp turned off and RF Gain at 50. This is from the practice of Xiegu repairs. Although, perhaps they changed something here. Otherwise, the transceiver is more interesting than the X6100. If you plan to have a teardown video, that would be great. Thank you.
The meter... Only SNR is important
i'm sure all this will be fixed with firmware.
No grounding port? And also it's a shame that apparently you cannot charge the battery without it being connected to the radio.
Thanks for the thorough look at this radio Paul. 73 M3VWN
Great technical video Omoet. The X6200 is certainly a step up from its earlier models. It is worth the investment for the portability and features it offers. Keep up the great work.
I agree with you ;)
Thank you very much, Paul, for this solid presentation of the XIEGU X6200. 73 de DL9ZBN / Kurt
I was hoping they'd jack it up to 20w for this new version not reduce it from 10 to 8, interesting!
No need to 20 watts is only .5 S units higher. This is a QRP radio.
Keep the great videos coming! Love all the X6200 content your coming up with so quickly! Love it!
Thank you very much ;)
Another nice video Paul hope to catch you on the air sometime 73's God bless from kc9cjc
This is the best video out there I was not on the market for ax 6200 but now iam ok Paul great video you stick to the way you're you're good detail information was good like always you take your time I like that good luck in the usamove here bro we need people like yourself here anxiety freepeople
Thank you so much George for your veey kind feedback! I believe that secrets are hiding in details 😀 Best 73!
Thank you for the fine review. When you were checking the S meter level, was the RF gain set to 50%? That is where other Xiegu radios are set to check S level on receive. I have 3 Xiegu radios, and I will wait for a while and see how this one does once it is released, and I want to see what module improvements they decide to sell. I hope the support for the X6100 does not go away with this new radio coming out.
Thank you for watching! :) I had the RF-gain set to 100 during this tests.
@@OM0ET Thanks! Do you think you will own one soon?
@loraz0 oh I don't know, I hope so 😊
Hello dear friend Jose! 👋 Thank you very much! 😉👍
Excellent presentation. Were you using your loop for all contacts made in the video?
Yes, of course.
Hi, great video thanks. What is the best radio with the longest range?
good job
Thanks, Paul, for the detail video. The X6200 Xiegu radio is interesting, but more expensive. And output power is only 5 Wtts. My very old G90 has 20 Wtts output, its preferred for /p operations. 73 ! RD8O
Thank you Ivan, yes 5W with internal battery, 8W with external power supply
No need to 20 watts is only .5 S units higher. This is a QRP radio.
I believe I watched almost all of your videos.
They are very good. Congratulations.
On the Xiengo X6100 it is normal to use RF SHOKE to avoid interfering with the transmission audio.
Does this problem remain on the X6200?
Thanks.
PP1JL José Luiz, Vitória - ES, Brazil
Did they fix the overheating problem ? I sold my 6100 because it was so hard to keep it cool on FT8 TX.
Thanks Paúl very very nice ...73
On the 6100 it would NOT allow filters to go wider than 2.7 on RX and TX are the Filters now adjustable on the 6200 for TX and RX?
Thanks for the nice review.
Is there any difference between the speakers?
I saw on a other channel that there is a output issue the first seconds while transmitting? Some on comment that it looks like a design flaw that you can not resolve with a update ? Do you can confirm about this problem when you was testing it ? I like this radio but for almost 1000 euro it must works properly, otherwise buy the 6100 our for the half of the price the 90. I like this radio for the battery , better screen, better stands, better receiver than the 6100 ? I am also curious about the birdies ?
Thanks PY/PD9CHR

In the US, they passed a law where opening a device is no longer a condition for voiding the warranty of the device. I'm surprised that the EU doesn't have this same law to allow the owner to open the device without voiding the warranty.
Bravo mr 👍
Does it still suffer the birdie issues that the X6100 had? I bought a X6100 and one of the birdies was a S9 on 14.070MHz making it unusable for data modes.
I sold my 6100 because of this very same problem.
Has now been fixed with firmware Sept 2024.
I do like the waterfall/wave display. But I think I will stick with my lovely kx2 though...
KX2 is a great radio but also way overpriced.
Housing of the previous and inner of these
Wow that was perfect
All amazing except not a fan of the noisy screen. That needs more testing. Perhaps a screen kill switch would work. lol
😀👍
Hi!Paul hope that you doing fine thank you
Thank you for the explanation ,nice device .where is the it sold?
Has the receive audio improved any? I have a 5105 and the audio is somewhat better on headphones than the tiny internal speaker. My ubitx blows it away for audio quality.
hello great review!! what is the make and model of the signal generator and the power meter you used in the video?
On both devices you can find a video with the links on my channel 👍
Like very much
How is the quality of the CW decoder?
Great review except you said that the 6100 and the 6200 are very similar in size, "almost the same", when clearly they are substantially different in size: L, W, H.
Excellent review on the X6200. I thought you were going to test the NR when you were doing a weak signal test ( -132? dBm). I recently sold my X6100. The X6200 looks better in a number of ways. 73 de WA3RSL
Oh! I just realised that I forgot to add this part in to the video. Yes I did this test. I will do the livestream today so you can see how the NR works.
@@OM0ET Very good!
Is it possible to connect this radio directly to a rf amplifier?? Or do you need the xeigu interface.
Excelente!
I would love to know what the TX Audio quality is like, with the built in microphone? The X6100 had many problem with the internal mic, and performed poorly.
Thank you, I will try to do an additional video with this test included 👍
Mine has always worked fine and you are the first to bring this up. I have had great reports like when using the hand mike. Maybe there is a problem with the element.
Is any information about the extension interface available yet?
ruclips.net/user/shorts8rbOtodnjwI 😁
I had a Polaroid camera n a digital camera with cases
Nice video and interesting transceiver. But why do they not produce a transceiver with 10W of this internal battery? Elecraft with its KX2 shows how it is possible. 73
As if 8 vs 10 W is noticeable...
@@RoelandJansen 8 or 10 W, but please with internal battery. Not only with external DC.
They are building for a price point. The radio you name is way more expensive.
@@Banjoman-p7t I think the DC input is not depending at the price. At least not the main reason. But maybe you ´re right.
You only gain .5 S units with 20 watts. This is supposed to be a QRP radio, 5 watts.
Thank you for this review! Excellent and very detailed. 73's DE KP4QG
any tests on frontend overloading for off frequency? or is it the same as the old one and you need to buy a bunch of external filters?
You definitely need filters
Paul, Nice Video! My question is : is Fm any good? The 6100 is SH.T .. receive and Tx .. keep up the good work 🎉
WISH THEY WOULD ADD A REG MIC JACK AND ANTENNA JACK ON IT AND A FEW OTHER THINGS BUT ITS A GOOD VALUE
What is the polarity of the power jack?
Internal is + outer is -

I love the screen from the looks of it but I don't like the cheap plastic wheel and body.
You get what you paid for. Benchmark IC-705, xiego is cheap and not perfect. If you want a perfect Rig, buy Icom.
The new Yaesu FTX-1F will kill the 705. The 705 is very far from perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect radio. For the price Xiegu builds great radios that are fun to use and preform well.
Very good and very informative, I have subscribed.......73
If the baofang hand helds are £20, how can this be the price it is!
Of course better quality part's inside,
and prices are going up if a company makes 1 good radio.
That's why 😁

If they made a 1000watt radio like this I would be interested.
Very nice review pls tell me how to ship from india 73 bye bye
I have rethought the matter and it is better to spend a little more money and buy the Icom IC-705 It is a proven unit and has 2m and 70cm extra where the Chinese clone does not have it
The 705 is full of problems and way overpriced. In a few months the new Yaesu FTX-1F will kill the 705. I will still keep my X6100 when my Yaesu arrives as the 6100 is a great radio and fun to use. The 6200 will be great and even better with firmware. It is still new.

You seem to be the blogger who got the machine late. 😂
true, because originally I was not sure if I am really interested in this radio, but I decided and it was too late, but don't worry, it is not just about "to be the first" anyway :)
