유권이 중학교 동창입니다. 있는그대로 말씀드리면 친구들한테 유권이가 가수됬다고 들었을당시 팀 댄스 담당이라고 해서 바로 수긍 했을 정도로 노래는 들어본적이 없지만 춤하나는 배워서 춘다기 보단 중학교때부터 기똥차게 잘췄습니다. 그리고 이건 그냥 썰인데.. 같이 선도부도 했었습니다. 유권이가 선도부장이였는데 저한테 팝핀하는법 알려주고 했던 기억이있네요ㅋㅋ 참고로 남중입니다 .
I don't really get why this performance gets unnecessary criticizing it's really good and to those who says this was flashy and u kwan didn't dance enough i think he was trying to be creative and the way he used the stage was incredible people should stop comparing this to hoya's performance which literally has a different vibe
You gotta be kidding this is dance competition. Their performance meant to be compare. He only dance around 30s in 2.22 performance. And all the participants is not impress.
Tbh i was more captivated with Yukwon's performance. The way he portrays Joker is on point, let's be real. On top of that, I feel he based the dance around the character instead of just making a dance and dressing as joker. He /was/ the Joker even while he danced. it takes a lot of performance skill to dance in character.

i think ukwon won not only because of the dancing but holy shit the characterization he was so in character throughout the entire thing, it's one thing to act like a character but to dance and embody one is a whole new level. he nailed the character, nailed the dance, and you could see the effort he put into everything. i appreciate ukwon's joker so much even though I'm not a big fan of his group.
I dance a lot, particularly in the Musical Theatre style, in which performance is almost (if not more) important than the technique and steps involved. Without the character and performance involved, the dance becomes lifeless and doesn't have anywhere near as much impact as one with at least SOME character and in some cases, a storyline. I watched this entire performance open mouthed because not only is he dancing in sync and pretty damn well with the other dancers, he even incorporates some of the Joker's mannerisms and personality into his movements. It's absolutely impeccable and don't even try dragging him through the mud for how high he scored. This performance, for me, not particularly being a Block B stan, solidified him as a solid triple-threat performer and a real performer in the K-Pop industry. (I'm not dragging any other people's performances, I'm just praising U-Kwon's.)
I don't know much about dance but I have to say I watched all the other performances and this is the one that made the most impact on me 👍🏼 when it ended I was like this has to win awesome work ! ✨ someone said he won💃🏻
People complaining that he didn't dance enough just don't understand. You see the tension in his body? How deliberate his movements are in imitating the Joker's mannerisms? That's ALL DANCING. If he'd just gotten on the stage and walked like normal, jumped like normal, or shot those guns like normal, it would not have fit with the crew's dancing and the stage would not have worked. The art of dance is the art of movement, and U-Kwon's movements captured and awed the audience, whether he was using standard "dance forms" or not.
Exactly!! Dance isn't just moves, you have to put acting into it. He was also playing a dang character. He has to portray the joker, because this show is about the entire performance or he wouldn't have won. People don't understand this. I feel like he 1000% deserved the win, he portrayed not only the joker but the dance as the joker so well.
This is so damn beautiful. I really love how he portrayed joker! It was just breath taking! I could watchthis repeatedly. I wish that he had more choreo tho.

The Joker is one of the most complicated characters of all time, he is tough, he is cruel, he is cold, he is sadistic and, incomprehensibly, he is a joker. It is a level of mental illness and incredible madness and U-Kwon was commissioned to personify it superbly. That crazy cruelty, the facial expressions that go from fun to the lunatic, its powerful dance. It's amazing and whoever says otherwise should take some good dance lessons, some acting and watch non-stop movies and Batman series.
not really familiar with Block b. but i agree. he sure is Hot.. :) the first few sec, i was like "whut is this, he can't pull it off!!!?" but then kept watching, and i'm like "Wow, Why did it get so Hot." like srsly. :)
소속사가 존나 작다 걍 없는 수준임 컴백해봤자 소속사가 홍보 존나 안해서 거의 항상 컴백할때마다 팬들이 맨발로 뛰어다니면서 홍보함 (그래서 비비씨끼리 단합이 잘 됐음(지금은 모르겠음 탈덕한지 3년이 넘어서...)) = 걍 소속사가 잘못했네... 그리고 저땐 블락비하면 떠오르는 게 지코였고 더 해도 박경이나 피오 정도였음 개인적으로 과거 팬 시점으로 봤을 땐 현재로서도 다들 만족하고 살아서 그런 듯 물론 기회가 있다면 바로 잡을 정도로 다들 무대를 그리워하는 것 처럼 보여지기도 함

I'm Ten biased but I totally understand why Ten lost to U Kwon, I mean, his presentation totally got me in 3 secs. Common people, this is "Hit the stage" is not only about the dancing and U Kwon gave a whole show (with backup dancers or not) in 2minutes. Ten is totally awesome but let's not get fanaticly blinded and just enjoy the program and all the recogniztion that all contestants are receiving!!!
Wow, I've just randomly found this and goddamnit this is hella awesome performence!!! As a huge fan o joker, he nailed him very well!! Also... Why the frick are people saying he is not dancing enough? Are you freaking blind or what?? I don't even know who that guy is (but definately going to search about him after this) but he is amazing dancer! Dancing is not just about moving around you need to put story, emotions and your soul into it because without it dance would be just soulless and boring!! Have you ever seen ballet? This is U-Kwon from the kpop group Block B. He's a talented mofo and can sing, dance, and rap. Some of my favourite Block B songs are Her, Shall We Dance, Toy, A few Years later, Yesterday, and their most recent comeback Don't Leave. U-Kwon is also in Block B's subunit called Block B Bastarz. My favourite songs of Bastarz are Zero for Conduct and Make it Rain. The TV show 'Hit the Stage' is a Korean TV show that showcases Kpop's main dancers. Some Hit the Stage episodes I would recommend are Hit the Stage - The Fight: Yugyeom, Hit the Stage - The Fight: Ten, Hit the Stage - Final: Yugyeom, Hit the Stage - Uniform: Rocky. From this episode (Hit the Stage - Devils) there is a dancer named Momo from the girl group Twice that I would recommend and there is another one (I can't remember which episode) with a dancer named Chungha who was in a temporary girl group called IOI and is now a solo kpop idol. TBH my favourites are Yugyeom and Ten's stages, especially in the 'Fight' episodes. Hope this helped a little bit.

exactly! it's a really good performance overall. a dance performance is just as much acting and engaging your audience by your overall performance as it is dancing alone. i was solidly engaged the whole time, so as far as i'm concerned, he did his job.
지금 2023년인데도 자발적으로 찾아와서 봄,,, 팬이 아닌데도 종종 이 무대를 찾게 만드는건 참 대단한 것 같음 당시 분위기가 히스레저의 보라 수트 조커 이미지가 더 대중들에게 먹히던 때였고, 유권이 표현한 초록 조커는 당시에는 생소한 느낌의 캐릭터였다고 할까?? 호아킨이 연기한 조커 이후 이제서야 대중화가 되어서 익숙해져서 아쉽다 당시에도 이 무대가 왜 졌을까 납득이 안갔었는데 시간이 많이 지나고 보니 사람들 무의식 속의 조커 이미지도 판정에 많은 영향을 끼쳤을 것 같아
블락비가 예능에도 많이 나오는 편도 아니고, 개인적으로도 방송출연 많이 하는편은 아니라서 이때 힛더스테이지에 유권오빠 나온다고 맨날 티비앞에서 본방사수했던생각난다... 진짜 이 무대보고 드디어 본때 보여줬다 싶었음. 내가 9년차 빕씨지만 당시 무대보고 다시한번 블락비랑 유권오빠 사랑하게됨 ㅅㅂ ㅈㄴ자랑스러워

He presented the stage the best, had the best facial expressions, and used the stage the best way possible. Stop saying he didn't deserve to win when gave full utilization of the back up dancers and the theatrics were the best of all the performances ukwon has great dancing skill and although I wished he showcased it more this is a great performance stop assuming that just because you have hard choreography that you deserve to win that's not the only aspect when giving a performance
Not really... Ten had the audience captivated as well as the judges. Hit the Stage is based on dance. Not performance-based but skill-based. Of course, performance is 50.01% of dance, but that's to be expected. Ten took a cult approach, using suspense to keep the audience intrigued. His movements were erratic and styilized, his costume changes much more appealing to supernatural aspect. The way he smiled wolfishly in the most innapropriate appropriate times and the way he was fighting with himself as a different source was increible and definetley performance. His expressions of pain matching those of the crew members, and he fully utilized them to give the impression of pain and of an almost satanic struggle of hell. They almost looked like marionettes at one point, the stark concept of free will and puppeteering imminent. He ran up on the crew members and attackedthe crowd out of insanity. And if Ten contorting his body a full 360 degrees wasn't horrifying enough for you, his act of a possesed boy was terrifying even through the screen. So, in case of theatrics, he was on point is choosing many's deepest fears instead of an attempt of be Batman's insane Joker. All Ukwon did was use his crew as a car and a mountain he could blow apart, alongside shooting everyone repeatedly and giving extreely well-done but generic clown faces of malice.

Okay so I see a lot of comments saying "this is more acting than dancing" and stuff like that. but for those of you who don't dance professionally (I don't, but my mother teaches it and so I often watch her classes) one of the most important things in dance is the so called "acting" part of the performance. anyone could do the choreography if they practiced but the choreography has zero meaning without the "acting" of the performance.I totally understand why his was ranked as high as it was and people should leave him alone. (my opinion)
and the other competitor didn't put acting element in their performance? well they did. Dancing is about corporating balance between moves and portraying emotion (acting as one of them) I'm not saying he's a bad dancer but clearly he's not even better than backup dancers in this performance. He still has time to prove his ability in next episode but in this episode he didn't even deserve 2nd place (IN MY OPINION)

***** too bad it wasn't only based on dancing though. Ukwon was wise enough to highlight every aspect of this performance. They have a theme and concept to follow. If you base it on ten's performance his dancing was superb but the concept or the theme he was trying to portray got lost halfway the performance. THIS holy shit this. I completely agree. I miss the old Block B who did wack ass concepts and gave zero fucks and this gives me a good reminder of that time.
Don't be blinded by your bias people! I had no idea who u-kwon was until this very moment. You can clearly tell in these episodes who's a real dancer and who is the one that only follows choreography well. Normally even if a routine is choreographed by another person, you can still distinguish a real dancer because in those detailed movements, their own personality in a dance will show in certain parts. He was fluid in the moves that needed to be fluid, he was hard-hitting in the moves that needed to be fierce, he not only danced but he put on a performance. A dancer can only rely on his skills but when they incorporate skilful acting, that's when you know a dancer is a performer. I don't think most of you can make a proper judgment because you are blinded by your admiration for your bias and that's understandable. Any other dancer can tell when a certain move looks awkward on another dancer. You probably only noticed how he was hitting those moves hard but there were many smooth and fluid moves that an average person without any past dancing/experience won't notice ( 1:00 , 1:06 , 1:13 , 1:21 ) Textures is what can make or break a dancer. (Textures= difference between smooth and harsh movements)

난 옛날에 지코다음으로 확 뜰사람이 있다면 당연히 유권이라고 생각했음.. 단순히 춤을잘춘다가 아니고 무대에서 보여주는 끼나 분위기가 진짜 태생부터 연예인이라고 생각했는데

그래서 예전 연습생때 회사에서도 유권 빼자고 했는데 지코가 유권은 데려가야된다고 자기 믿고 한번만 데려가자고 했댔나? 그랬었음
+찾아보니까 저정도로 말한거까진 아니고 유권이는 아직 보여주지 못한 모습이 많이 숨겨져있는 아이라며 참고 지켜봐달라고 했다고 하네요ㅎㅎ

i think ukwon won not only because of the dancing but holy shit the characterization he was so in character throughout the entire thing, it's one thing to act like a character but to dance and embody one is a whole new level. he nailed the character, nailed the dance, and you could see the effort he put into everything. i appreciate ukwon's joker so much even though I'm not a big fan of his group.

I dance a lot, particularly in the Musical Theatre style, in which performance is almost (if not more) important than the technique and steps involved. Without the character and performance involved, the dance becomes lifeless and doesn't have anywhere near as much impact as one with at least SOME character and in some cases, a storyline. I watched this entire performance open mouthed because not only is he dancing in sync and pretty damn well with the other dancers, he even incorporates some of the Joker's mannerisms and personality into his movements. It's absolutely impeccable and don't even try dragging him through the mud for how high he scored. This performance, for me, not particularly being a Block B stan, solidified him as a solid triple-threat performer and a real performer in the K-Pop industry. (I'm not dragging any other people's performances, I'm just praising U-Kwon's.)

If he'd just gotten on the stage and walked like normal, jumped like normal, or shot those guns like normal, it would not have fit with the crew's dancing and the stage would not have worked. The art of dance is the art of movement, and U-Kwon's movements captured and awed the audience, whether he was using standard "dance forms" or not.
Exactly!! Dance isn't just moves, you have to put acting into it. He was also playing a dang character. He has to portray the joker, because this show is about the entire performance or he wouldn't have won. People don't understand this.

The Joker is one of the most complicated characters of all time, he is tough, he is cruel, he is cold, he is sadistic and, incomprehensibly, he is a joker. It is a level of mental illness and incredible madness and U-Kwon was commissioned to personify it superbly. That crazy cruelty, the facial expressions that go from fun to the lunatic, its powerful dance. It's amazing and whoever says otherwise should take some good dance lessons, some acting and watch non-stop movies and Batman series.

I'm Ten biased but I totally understand why Ten lost to U Kwon, I mean, his presentation totally got me in 3 secs. Common people, this is "Hit the stage" is not only about the dancing and U Kwon gave a whole show (with backup dancers or not) in 2minutes. Ten is totally awesome but let's not get fanaticly blinded and just enjoy the program and all the recogniztion that all contestants are receiving!!!

I'm a joker fan
This is U-Kwon from the kpop group Block B. He's a talented mofo and can sing, dance, and rap. Some of my favourite Block B songs are Her, Shall We Dance, Toy, A few Years later, Yesterday, and their most recent comeback Don't Leave. U-Kwon is also in Block B's subunit called Block B Bastarz. My favourite songs of Bastarz are Zero for Conduct and Make it Rain. The TV show 'Hit the Stage' is a Korean TV show that showcases Kpop's main dancers. Some Hit the Stage episodes I would recommend are Hit the Stage - The Fight: Yugyeom, Hit the Stage - The Fight: Ten, Hit the Stage - Final: Yugyeom, Hit the Stage - Uniform: Rocky. From this episode (Hit the Stage - Devils) there is a dancer named Momo from the girl group Twice that I would recommend and there is another one (I can't remember which episode) with a dancer named Chungha who was in a temporary girl group called IOI and is now a solo kpop idol. TBH my favourites are Yugyeom and Ten's stages, especially in the 'Fight' episodes. Hope this helped a little bit.

exactly! it's a really good performance overall. a dance performance is just as much acting and engaging your audience by your overall performance as it is dancing alone. i was solidly engaged the whole time, so as far as i'm concerned, he did his job.

지금 2023년인데도 자발적으로 찾아와서 봄,,, 팬이 아닌데도 종종 이 무대를 찾게 만드는건 참 대단한 것 같음 당시 분위기가 히스레저의 보라 수트 조커 이미지가 더 대중들에게 먹히던 때였고, 유권이 표현한 초록 조커는 당시에는 생소한 느낌의 캐릭터였다고 할까?? 호아킨이 연기한 조커 이후 이제서야 대중화가 되어서 익숙해져서 아쉽다 당시에도 이 무대가 왜 졌을까 납득이 안갔었는데 시간이 많이 지나고 보니 사람들 무의식 속의 조커 이미지도 판정에 많은 영향을 끼쳤을 것 같아

He presented the stage the best, had the best facial expressions, and used the stage the best way possible. Stop saying he didn't deserve to win when gave full utilization of the back up dancers and the theatrics were the best of all the performances ukwon has great dancing skill and although I wished he showcased it more this is a great performance stop assuming that just because you have hard choreography that you deserve to win that's not the only aspect when giving a performance

Not really... Ten had the audience captivated as well as the judges. Hit the Stage is based on dance. Not performance-based but skill-based. Of course, performance is 50.01% of dance, but that's to be expected. Ten took a cult approach, using suspense to keep the audience intrigued. His movements were erratic and styilized, his costume changes much more appealing to supernatural aspect. The way he smiled wolfishly in the most innapropriate appropriate times and the way he was fighting with himself as a different source was increible and definetley performance. His expressions of pain matching those of the crew members, and he fully utilized them to give the impression of pain and of an almost satanic struggle of hell. They almost looked like marionettes at one point, the stark concept of free will and puppeteering imminent. He ran up on the crew members and attackedthe crowd out of insanity. And if Ten contorting his body a full 360 degrees wasn't horrifying enough for you, his act of a possesed boy was terrifying even through the screen. So, in case of theatrics, he was on point is choosing many's deepest fears instead of an attempt of be Batman's insane Joker. All Ukwon did was use his crew as a car and a mountain he could blow apart, alongside shooting everyone repeatedly and giving extreely well-done but generic clown faces of malice.

진짜 볼때마다 너무 소름돋고 짜릿함 어떻게 저렇게 조커스러울수가있지....? 특히 초반에 웃는부분 진짜 세상 모든 간지 씹고 들어감..1분 1초도 조커를 놓지 않은 느낌임....진짜 너무 좋음.......
Okay so I see a lot of comments saying "this is more acting than dancing" and stuff like that. but for those of you who don't dance professionally (I don't, but my mother teaches it and so I often watch her classes) one of the most important things in dance is the so called "acting" part of the performance. anyone could do the choreography if they practiced but the choreography has zero meaning without the "acting" of the performance.I totally understand why his was ranked as high as it was and people should leave him alone. (my opinion)
and the other competitor didn't put acting element in their performance? well they did. Dancing is about corporating balance between moves and portraying emotion (acting as one of them)
I'm not saying he's a bad dancer but clearly he's not even better than backup dancers in this performance. He still has time to prove his ability in next episode but in this episode he didn't even deserve 2nd place (IN MY OPINION)
+Mei Liu I totally understand that, I really feel like this choreography didn't showcase all of U-Kwon's dancing abilities but it was still a really good performance. I'm sure he will show us more of what he can do next.
+Fancy Trash acting is a part of dancing, but acting without the dance element doesn't constitute as dancing
200% agree with you. i watched bora's, momo's, ten's, and u-kwon's clips and this is the one i keep coming back too.
***** too bad it wasn't only based on dancing though. Ukwon was wise enough to highlight every aspect of this performance. They have a theme and concept to follow. If you base it on ten's performance his dancing was superb but the concept or the theme he was trying to portray got lost halfway the performance. Ukwon on the otherhand made sure to highlight the character his portraying,the back-up dancers and his dancing skills.
I'm never gonna get over this performance. This is the type of dance I love. When it's slick and smooth.

Don't be blinded by your bias people! I had no idea who u-kwon was until this very moment. You can clearly tell in these episodes who's a real dancer and who is the one that only follows choreography well.
Normally even if a routine is choreographed by another person, you can still distinguish a real dancer because in those detailed movements, their own personality in a dance will show in certain parts. He was fluid in the moves that needed to be fluid, he was hard-hitting in the moves that needed to be fierce, he not only danced but he put on a performance. A dancer can only rely on his skills but when they incorporate skilful acting, that's when you know a dancer is a performer.
I don't think most of you can make a proper judgment because you are blinded by your admiration for your bias and that's understandable. Any other dancer can tell when a certain move looks awkward on another dancer. You probably only noticed how he was hitting those moves hard but there were many smooth and fluid moves that an average person without any past dancing/experience won't notice ( 1:00 , 1:06 , 1:13 , 1:21 ) Textures is what can make or break a dancer. (Textures= difference between smooth and harsh movements)
