They dont even have solid bosses in WoW. You can just walk right through them. This game at least got that right. Even Lost Ark had solid bosses lol

TBF, as someone who played the beta I can confirm that the movement and the numbers need polishing, but for a game that is under development for a little longer than 1y, this is already fairly impressive.
Oooor... they have been working on this game for a while now, off the record, anticipating the day Blizz would end their agreement.

@@jochenrunge3706 A company doesn't have just "income", they also have costs and legal issues to deal with. The gov has taken steps to push out Western companies in general, not just Blizzard. If I go into any more detail, YT hides the comment.

Not gonna lie, this is the kind of fidelity I want from WoW. I know the artstyle of WoW is supposed to be timeless, but I feel like it's started to show its limits.
I don’t think any mmorpg graphics can be called timeless because there will always be a game with better graphics in the future

Now days if a game doesnt tell you exactly how to kill a boss. You will die unless you are willing to explain every fight before it starts. I had to explain wayyy too many boss fights in lost ark.
the boss fights were the one really excellent thing about lost ark though. i got tired of the gratuitous grinding and menial busywork almost immediately, but i stuck through for a while just to stay on the curve for the weekly raids. if anything, that's the part i'd like new mmos to take notes of from lost ark.
Or you get good and learn by doing, like you're supposed to with games. People be wanting every game to tell them how to do everything, there's no fucking discovery or invention in games any more. Boring af, especially in an MMO environment.
Why do you have to know a fight before you go in? Why can't you go in, learn the patterns while playing until you win? Are you one of those morons who plays Elden Ring and looks at wiki before every bossfight instead of playing the game?
@@Kovac_ because pve in mmos is a team effort. people don't want to wipe over and over because other players don't know mechanics. that said the inclusion of dbm by default is still questionable. you can just look up guides for any popular video game.

The first raid you watched is early on after a day or two of playing, so yeah can't expect the boss to be like end game wow raids, this is basically still a tutorial raid boss. It will not have P2W or P2progress stuff just pure battle passes for cosmetics. It will also be seasonal, so you can always hop in.
I think this game will have the same apelle a classic you don't have to grind 5 different things to upgrade your gear. You go kill a boss he drops an item you put it on then move on

Maybe in normal you can learn mechanics ,and on higher difficulties you didnt have this option. That would be a great way to introduce new or casual players to harder content.
They promise no P2W (let's see if they can keep that word) and if they polish this game a bit more then I'll def play it.
Seems less work to play than WoW atm and I've been itching for a MMORPG to play without have to make a planned schedule for grinding.

@@hannahj1808 I mean, comparing western games owned by Tencent and by Blizzard its pretty clear that Tencent is the least P2W one; Diablo 4 vs PoE, LoR vs Hearthstone, CoD Warzone vs Fortnite, even Overwatch had a character locked behind Battlepass when every other competitive game makes BP cosmetic only. And WoW is also 100% P2W.

I think the player movement speed looked really low during the boss fight. Otherwise the game looks like it has a lot of potential.

This is good for gamers, it makes Western companies defocus from being corporates who chase money and going back to the roots of creating games by gamers for gamers and listening to the gamers! People should not hate the game that takes good stuff from other games and improves them! For my money and limited free time I want the best I can get and not frustrate or wait in hopes that the corporate lords will change stuff for the better!
The thing is, Chinese developers are weird. I mean, Mihoyo, Genshin Impact's devs said they created their recent game called Honkai Star Rail so Genshin's player can move to their newest game and killed Genshin ultimately. They would kill their own game before other game especially the Western ones killed their games. Idk what they are after for doing this

Im playing the current beta. It's not bad. Wow replacement ehhhhhh idk about that... at least not in the beta. Maybe when it's 100 percent done. 7/10 atm. Hopefully on release it will get even better.
This game feels smooth and is actually impressive compared to all the other shit we're getting lately.

I think its a good thing to warn players on what to do during fights, would remove elitism in gaming.

If the combat is responsive, abilities feel good to press then it all depends on the game systems. If all of the previous points are good then it can be a really good, potentially more fun game than WoW - even if the art style is a wet fart. If it's free then it can be a pretty successful game, something similar to the Paladins - Overwatch comparison. I am cautiously optimistic even though there is a fat 0 % chance I will play it.

Rotations are now insanely complicated in retail, prot pally and some warrior specs are possibly the exception to this, also classic era and WoTLK

Also saying you don't like the game telling you mechanics but a massive majority of WoW playerbase uses add-ons to do exactly that
The stuff he complained about isn't even the bad stuff, the bad stuff to me, is the fact that the armor you wear doesn't change how you look and classes are gender locked, so basically everyone of each class looks the exact same besides a few skins you can buy for real money (like 3 in the beta or something)
Might be worth, definitely brings competition to mmorpgs which is highly needed

Played beta and really liked it. Raids were hard af. Loved learning the raid mechanics. We couldn't kill 4th raid boss though. Wished CBT was longer. PVP priest owns too!

@@RasmusN name a better publisher than amazon or even remotely top 5, what they did with new world under their own care is a disaster sure, and while lost ark management is shit and every patch has issues, as i played 3.7k NA/EU lost ark, the core of the publishing decisions of them making the game less p2w and giving free shit/changing BC costs on stuff is good enough to make them above everyone else in the market atm, and im amazon hater myself for obvious reasons, besides MAYBE companies self-publishing like PA did with BDO when they kicked cuckao out, as afaik BDO is crazy friendly with the community and even then the devs have issues with content.

Don't kid yourself. Lost Ark have always been p2w and ''free stuff'' exists in EVERY game, except the games with a short end-game span.
You're also intentionally shrinking the competition by seperating ''self publishers''. Almost every proper game in the market are now self-published, and Amazon is absolutely trash as both. The only one at that, in fact.

Agreed. Yet they could have done things with WoW for several xpacs. Like doing away with or significantly reducing the multiple currency grind, multiple rep gating, and multiple time gatings that overlap with each other... spawn at the boss, etc. Blizz has always resisted giving the players what they want due to some superiority complex leading them to believe that they know what we want better than we do. Or, they simply don't want to hire/pay the devs to do it (they dgaf). Either way, they need a wake up call.
Only thing I have an issue with is how slow the movement seems. if only that gets sped up Im sold already

I mean a lot of WoW private servers especially the PVP ones already create their own events and items. All they have to do is copy the back-end of the game then replace the presentation/graphical assets and they can literally say this is our game now.
Competition is usually always good. I want this to eat Blizzards lunch but it wont.
Too bad that the devs for Tarisland completely messed up the CLOSED beta by only sending a download link to the people invited. So that it can be shared with everyone and the people that were actually invited couldn't get into the beta.

Everyone always said realistic graphics doesn’t fit WoW but this is a great art style for WoW 2.
This isn't exactly what I'd call realistic graphics.
Style > Realism. Wow continues to look good because they have a cohesive style. It may change around here and there every expansion to fit a theme, but the slightly cartoonish style has stood the test of time, while the call of duty that came out at the time looks terrible, dated and bad.

I can guarantee China is backward engineering every single game in their country to do exactly this. The fact that Blizzard never saw this coming (after the Nostalrius debacle) and didn't pull out so they could have that sweet, sweet China money, is really astounding.

@@shinichigojir12 This would normally only work if the original company they stole from doesn't really develop the ip further. My dad has done a lot of work in China in the telecom sector and the thing that would always happen is that Chinese companies would steal their tech, but by the time they reverse engineered it, the original company they stole the tech from would have continued to develop the tech, so the stolen tech would be outdated. The problem that Blizzard has is that it doesn't really innovate or create new good content.

It’s sad, but I am scared to install a China developed game in fear of god know what root kit I could be installing on my system. It’s not like that government is the most honest. Hell Valorant installs a root kit for anti-cheat. That’s a TON of trust.

The best art style for me was WoW from classic to wrath of the lich king. After that it became more and more cartoon-ish.
And i think Tarisland looks too much like a mobile game. It takes so much depth out of the pc version by trying to cater for mobile users.
Blizzard would just take the worst parts of WoW and make the whole WoW2 game that. Plus seeing over the years how Blizzard just hates the Alliance playerbase they would probably just make WoW2 to a jerk off for the Horde. That is how little trust i have in Blizzard.
edit: Plus if they let the Diablo 4 team touch WoW2 at all we would just get fat and ugly characters only.

Now there are only 2 reasons For this.... China already had a dedicated WOW game of their own on the Back burner in case something like this happened...... Or they literally made a massive awesome game in Two days.
Either way they definitely put in more effort to make sure that their gaming community got what they were looking for the moment wow didn't provide.
