- What’s happening in this Dazed and Confused movie clip?
Pink (Jason London) and his friend David Wooderson (Matthew McConaughey from Interstellar and White Boy Rick), a man in his early 20s who still socializes with high school students, picked up Mitch (Wiley Wiggins) and headed for the Emporium, a pool hall frequented by teenagers. As the night progresses, students loiter around the Emporium, listen to rock music, cruise the neighborhood and stop at the hamburger drive-in. Mitch is introduced to sophomore Julie Simms (Catherine Avril Morris), with whom he shares a mutual attraction. While cruising again with Pink, Pickford (Shawn Andrews) and Don Dawson (Sasha Jenson), Mitch drinks beer and smokes marijuana for the first time.

Its amazing that hoghschool for me was EXACTLY the same, just diff times. It never changes. Highschool was fucking awesome!!!
I love this movie so much. One night my buddies and I went to go drink beers and play pool. Once I opened the doors, this scene and popped into my head and Hurricane started playing in my head and my friends were walking behind me up to the bar. It felt so cool! lol. Love this movie
It's a nostalgic look at being a teen in high school in SE Texas in the mid 70's stylized and amalgamated into digestible anecdotes for the following generation, and those to floow, to take in and feel nostalgic for. Some of it the feel is right. Some of it is over the top. You could buy beer when you were 17, so high school beer drinking was no big deal. The local PDs were serious nazis about pot, so it was a lot more on the low key than the blatant burning going on here.
The detail of the cigarette pack rolled in the left sleeve is solid.
