Marko does a great job and I love the feel Floor gives to the song with her 'Endlessness' line. Gets me in a pensive mood quickly. :)
Yes! This album really is a masterpiece, honestly. Everything about the song: the heaviness and doomy feeling of the music, the orchestration, the voices, the lyrics... Everything works wonderfully together, and it's such a beautiful and melancholic but still hopeful song. I love it. As for thematically, I interpret it as our small human existence living in an endless universe, where, even when we die, we are part of the endlessness? We are literal stardust. In our lives, we are just a speck of dust with meaning, breathing, talking, moving on our own, which is rare and so precious in the Universe. And when we die, we come back to that state of stardust, still one with the universe, but without that meaning we had as breathing creatures, and our energy merges with the Universe as one again. And when our sun will die and life will be impossible on our planet (at least, life as we know it), we'll be back to that state that precedes life, with a planetary nebula that'll help other planets maybe have life on them or stuff.
Nightwish's Marko Hietala: "“It’s a song about a universe, or actually a multiversal force, so grand, so majestic, that it actually binds and permeates everything. All of our lives are just tiny particles in this mighty flow. And then there’s this mere human vocalist, and his friend, a human being as well, has written a story. And we’re in this rock group trying to bring its unique loneliness across to other mere humans.” P.S. Since this song personifies the universe/multiverse, it fits very well with the ideas of some scientists whose hypothesis takes a non-materialistic approach, saying that everything is information expressed as thought. As such, the universe "self-actualizes" itself into existence, relying on underlying algorithms and a rule they call "the principle of efficient language." bigthink.com/surprising-science/new-hypothesis-argues-the-universe-simulates-itself-into-existence?rebelltitem=3#rebelltitem3
Tuomas said this song is about Time. Time can be described as "a multiversal force, so grand, so majestic, that it actually binds and permeates everything. All of our lives are just tiny particles in this mighty flow."
Fairly sure both Endlessness and Harvest will be part of the set list (whenever they are able to perform live shows again) to engage Marko and Troy vocals.

And you will see it in Poet and The pendulum Thoumas believe in god as well. Some say you can't have evolution with God but again how about God created everything to evolve so that oil could exist until it was no longer needed etc etc. That would be a master plan to which no other could duplicate
Generally I think that Marko is a little underused on this album. To this "doom and gloom" ending anthem his voice is perfect. The whole album is great. Maybe It's not Metal as such, but it's very versatile and coherent with the aims of it. Great interpretation by you Olly. Thank you!
Consider listening now who first album again all in one take. And comment the joyrney. No need to play all the song, just what do you feel the whole trip. I personally have listen individual songs Many times by now, but i always seems to enjoy most, when I listen the whole album in one take... as you said, this album does build up and the whole is more than individual songs. Also it may be better to not whatch the vide at the same time. These videos Are nice, but sometimes They captivate too much, when the music as its own has so much to say!
I agree that the videos take away from the message at times. I'm on my 19 trip through the album and I seem to always find something new. Tuomas is a man that has deep thoughts about everything he writes about. I would love to interview him just to pick mind.
Wonderful to see and hear your reaction. Your excitement is fantastic. According to Guylain Price (reactor from Canada) Endlessness is the separation between the 8 songs of Human and the 8 of Nature and represent the stroke in the symbols on the Albums cover. I like that idea. What do you think of that?
Endlessness, infinity. We could call it time, or it's maybe more, timelessness where time is only a phase. The spark is the, in the death of everything, the birth for something new. There's someone in the tomorrow, so with him we can walk in the darkness. To the death and birth of everything. The speckof dust has meaning, is precious, so we can walk fearless into dark with this one who waits in the tomorrow. Interestingly, the stardust forms kind of like person there in the space, in the end (and a new beginning) of this song. Like the endlessness would be a person. The spark, the death and birth of everything. That's - God. I'm not saying Nightwish is saying that. But God says I'm the alpha and the omega (last letter of the Greek alphabet), the beginning and the end. And God is endless, infinite - timeless. The Thief, you might say: it can't be God! Just there is one story like that in the teaching of Jesus: he's like a thief in the night who comes to steal prisoners free from the grip of the 'Powerful One' - which means Satan. It's a powerful angel, one of the high ones originally, but lost his position, for rebelling. Rebelling against life. Death and destruction, lust and greed follow his footsteps: giant mushroom clouds, hundred of shiny rocks - to bind us to the darkness, to the temporary things, to imprison us in time, in the disappearing stuff. He want to render us meaningless, make us not precious, to those sand grains of Sahara, who are unborn to life in the death and birth of everything by the Endless One, the Spark. The Spark wants you to join him in the death, for the birth of everything anew. He's waiting in tomorrow. He's already there, because what is time for the Endlessness, the maker of time too. After all, even the time is relative, it's dependant of speed, by the theory of relativity. Time is different for the very fast or the very slow moving particles or beings. But the Spark, the Beginning and the End - God, wnts you to join him for tomorrow, to go to the dark with him, the dark is also but just one more passing thing in the endless path. It's true we can miss that train, by getting stuck in the disappearing ones, to try to make oursleves a palace here, in the temporary, to try to ourself a name, thinking that will immortalize us. But who will remember our name, when the future generations are busy making themselves a name? And many names from the history we remember because they did something very horrible, like massacred a lot of people. We don't remember the names of the inventors of many beautiful things. Like who invented the first instruments (well, the Bible gives a name for such a person - but is it someone we remember?) for music? Who invented writing? Who made the first poem? It's more comforting to know you don't have to be elite, to be remembered by many, to be precious, to be valued by the spark who started your life in your mother's womb. God loves those who people barely notice. He also loves those who make a lot of noise desperately wishin someone would notice them. And the others. He calls us to join him in the tomorrow, you, the dust with a meaning. You're not meaningless, not futile. Neither are you more important of course, than the other ones :) The other forms most beautiful. The Endlessness seems so vast - yet it cares for every little speck of dust. We're called to join him - but not forced. Joy is not an obligation, life is not a duty. Life is a gift.
Read Neil Degrasse Tyson's book "Astrophysics for people in a hurry" he explains the beginning to the endlessness of the universe, and how it came to be. Also he really likes this album, not only is he a very educated man he loves good music, good food, fine wine
Well again its about the human condition and influence. And until we are no longer here to gage time our interactions are therefore are endless. That is how I take it as these are two albums human with lyrics and nature without words. It could also mean after we leave nature or something else to replace us endlessly. Your coin flip. Lol
I like the new album a lot, but I always have a hard time with lyrics. They just confuse me more than anything. I'm just not smart when it comes to figuring lyrics out unless they are spelled out in layman's terms. Sometimes words can have more than one meaning, which I know is what a lot of writers use so we can decide what the songs mean to ourselves. Over the years, I have just given up even trying to figure out what songs mean and just enjoy them for their musical and vocal performances. Cheers!
Yes, same here = "Over the years, I have just given up even trying to figure out what songs mean and just enjoy them for their musical and vocal performances." Cheers :-)

GOD loves you but time is running short, by your free will please read the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Joh 3:16-21) For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God. - We were all born sinners which is why we must all be born again. (Rom 3:10, Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom 10:9-10) Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. - All who call upon His name will be saved. A - Admit you're a sinner and that you need the Saviour B - Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead. C - Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord

, How is the heart and Endlessness. I just can not descide in wich order, it is even changing every time.
Could also be heaven and he'll as once you leave here you will rest there endlessly also
Really like this one, especially since it has more guitar in it. Love the entire album but this song has a dark vibe what I like!
🤩Olly, you still going 🤘🇫🇮😁❤️🎸🎶
Yep, i will keep it going as long as the universe lets me. lol
Next stop: "All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World"!! :D
🧡Terveiset Suomesta! ﴾ تحياتي من فنلندا! ﴿
this and harvest goes in tandem in a tuomas way.
And you will see it in Poet and The pendulum Thoumas believe in god as well. Some say you can't have evolution with God but again how about God created everything to evolve so that oil could exist until it was no longer needed etc etc. That would be a master plan to which no other could duplicate
Pleace react cd2.. stay safe
Generally I think that Marko is a little underused on this album. To this "doom and gloom" ending anthem his voice is perfect. The whole album is great. Maybe It's not Metal as such, but it's very versatile and coherent with the aims of it. Great interpretation by you Olly. Thank you!
I totally agree with you Marko is perfect for this song. What a way to end or not the album.
That is interesting concept. Makes you think?
Thank you...
Read Neil Degrasse Tyson's book "Astrophysics for people in a hurry" he explains the beginning to the endlessness of the universe, and how it came to be. Also he really likes this album, not only is he a very educated man he loves good music, good food, fine wine
Please react to☺
Arch enemy-nemesis
Battle beast-familiar hel
Mono-Children of dark
Have you seen Guyline Prince's reaction and analysis videos?
They are great to watch! And he always analysing lyrics too.

Nightwish is awesome ! May I ask why you're not doing BABYMETAL reactions anymore ? I loved them. Is it because of the blocks ? :(

GOD loves you but time is running short, by your free will please read the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
(Joh 3:16-21)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
(Rom 3:10, Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23)
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Rom 10:9-10)
Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.
- All who call upon His name will be saved.
A - Admit you're a sinner and that you need the Saviour
B - Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
C - Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
