Found this watch in my dads desk when I went to visit. He hasn’t worn it in 8 or so years. Left it next to the window and and fully works now. It’ll be my new daily for a while. Love this video to explain a little more.

The fact that the day, date and month are all displayed at the same time on the screen are the main reasons why I prefer the 2500 to the new 3000.

IMHO best ever protrek. Casio had and has a winner here. Most functionality of any protrek except the prw 7000. A watch like this really needs a full dial digital display. The prw 7000 is more eye candy than anything else

This demo and the follow up deserve at least another 100k views. Fantastic job on such a capable device, which by the way, Casio should update with the more advanced technology since its inception. Would love this in G Shock format as well, with no feature omissions Casio.Well done.

*_This is a fine piece from Casio. The ABC features are very informing & convenient. That said, on any day of the week, in any month, and at any altitude, I’ll take my GW9400 Rangeman as the ultimate ‘survival’ watch. The Pro Trek only allows for increments of 5 in for the altitude; the Rangeman for increments of 1. When accessing the sundry readings, it takes the data a few seconds to calculate & yield the results in the Pro Trek 😧; the Rangeman yields readings in a mere couple of secs, if even that long._*
*_But both models have premium features which make both models desirable & distinct. Give me the moon phase, the superimposed bearing indicator (perhaps red for the Rangeman), EL backlight, the louder alarm & tone sounds, a replaceable bidirectional compass bezel, & Progress Timer on the Rangeman and it will be perfect. Affix the sunrise/sunset settings, the 1,000 hr Stop Watch Mode, the 24 hr Countdown Timer Mode, the ability to initiate the stopwatch in Home Time Mode, and a 1 minute reading in Compass Mode, this Pro Trek would be the perfect watch._*
*_What I’m saying is Casio is the pinnacle of watchmakers!!! 😏😉_*

I have that watch. It is fantastic. I can only give it one serious fault. The compass bezel scratches so easily. And from what I understand, you cannot replace it. So my watch looks perfect except for a very scratched up bezel. However, literally everything else about it is perfect. It is also extremely comfortable to the point you forget you are wearing it.

Yacht timing just requires a countdown timer. The separate timer reset is useful, but not necessary. It is not easy on the water to hit the start line at the right moment. What I mean by reset timer is that if you touch a certain button the timer resets to the other time, for example a 5:00 timer that goes to 3:00 regardless of where the timer is.
Edit: For complicated sailing reasons, please note the reset time must be shorter than the main countdown time.
This reset can also be used to restart the timer, just set the reset time to the same time as the main countdown timer.

Nice video I have this Casio I bought it in sams in payments in 2015 for a camping trip and I love it this watch is tough in the camping trip it went it a lake for several hours in a hiking trip in 4 falls I still have the scars of those falls and it was still working and 2 week after that it went in a shooting class and those instructors can work you a lot and to this day is still working and the time is perfect I have a Verizon cell phone and I think that the watch keeps better time the only thing I did is to put it in a nato strap and it works great now I am trying to get this Casio with the titanium band and yes from sams club and yes in payments nice video and keep the good watch reviews coming

If you have to make payments on a $189.00 watch, you shouldn't be buying it.

Hello, great video as always! I own the PRG 270 but I want a Casio that combines the triple sensor with tide and moon phase. Once these were covered by the PRW 2500, you know a new model with these features. Digital with solar charge and 6 band.

Also does it have a noise it makes if a shift in the Barometer happens? Really want this watch, the new one's have some cool features, but I think he is right when he said this had loaded features.

Well , I got mine since 2011, that was also year of its production- if read correctly codes . Its still my favorite- in daily use, however start having kind of feeling that Our days together are counted , as display overall starts fading and battery stopped charging to H position. If I should say something to potential users, it would be to double check fitting on Your wrist before purchase , especially in more loosen position. Due to this plastic/composite case part below, sometimes U can get painful pressure feeling while slips down on the wrist pressing ankle at carpal part . Also compass ring , made of alu, tends to scratch relatively easy. After 8 years of daily use, letters and symbols are barely visible. I think G shocks can handle aging better way. Overall when it dies, Ill go for some pro trek again, but as U said, there is no real alternative to this watch-its really high end.

Hi not sure if your still reading comments, but this tutorial is awesome! So helpful thanks. Quick question. When the dst is on the tide chart is off by an hour as it doesn’t update. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to change that as well. I use it for ocean fishing Thank you!!

I can’t believe they left out sunrise sunset times on this model, it literally has everything else!

I pulled the trigger on the PRW2500 today, and I wanted the tide/moon graph, but I wished they would also include the Sunrise/Sunset info, that would make it really complete in my view. So now Im looking at the PAG240 that has the Sunrise/Sunset data, but is virtually the same build, except I believe you mentioned the PAG240 has the newer Version Sensors, that have a bit more degree of accuracy for two of the ABC details? Do you feel that the PG270 is the way to go?, or go with the PAG240

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 лет назад

PAG240 uses old sensors, while the PRG270 uses new ones.
Only a few new watches have both moon/tide and sunrise sunset, like the Gulfmaster GWN-Q1000

I've got this watch as well as the 340 and this one is simply better, however this one doesn't have the sunset and sunrise. But the 3400 doesn't have a moon phase either. The need to have one that does both of those.

I guess if you want snooze type function you could set Alarm 1 for wake up time and Alarm 2 for five minutes later.
