- You can learn how to Crochet a Winter Hat in this tutorial video.
Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. I'll show you how to crochet this nice winter beanie hat pattern. It works up fast and easy and makes a nice gift for yourself as well as someone special.
To do this hat pattern, you only need to know how to make a chain and a single crochet stitch. This hat pattern is really great for beginners. Both the brim and crown part of the hat are made simultaneously on every row. This is explained in the video.
I'm using 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm hook for my hat pattern. You 7might need to adjust your hook size to get the correct measurements listed in the video.

You have got to be the greatest crochet artist on earth. I’m a 15 y/o girl, and you have taught me so much in just the span of a week. I hope you continue to teach and give us more patterns to spread your artistic talents across the globe. ❤❤❤
Wow, thank you!
I have never done one of your projects. But I was in the hospital when I was learning to crochet, and a nurse said to look you up. So I did she said your videos taught her to make a blanket. So I'm going to try this hat !! Thank you for your time, I know it's not as easy as it looks to have a RUclips channel and I appreciate it.
Thank you for your kindness!
Love this and so easy to make many for the homeless shelter we serve. Giving to those who have nothing to brighten their days and keep them warm.
God bless you sweetheart for such a wonderful and selfless idea. Keep warm and safe.

Love it!!! I'm crocheting hats now. Will definitely add this one. Thanks!!!
Wonderful!
Hi Donna! Love the look of this pattern! Question: if I don’t want to fold the brim, can I do half of the stitches (six instead of twelve) for the brim section? In other words, more of a “beanie” look than a hat. Thanks! Your patterns and tutorials are at the top of my go to list! ❤
Love this hat and your tutorial!
Do you have a matching scarf pattern?❤️
I do everything correct but the problem is till 3rd row there are equal but after the 3rd row it becames unequal like one row is big and the other small. It differs like 2to3 rows what should I do for that
Wow 👏💯🌷
Pretty hat and very easy!! For a matching scarf…… how many chains would you start off with?? Thank you!!!🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
Wow! I really like this one! Thanks, Naztazia! How's your daughter? Haven't seen her in a while! ❤️
Thank you! Getting older (when did that happen!?) and doing great. I have to get her back into filming videos too!
@@naztazia oh don’t I feel that! One second my little niece is running around showing me everything she finds, next, she’s teasing me about being taller and talking about graduation.
Well, at least I’ve gotten a brand new nephew to spoil rotten. Lol
Hi Donna! Are there any other sizes available for this hat? I just made one and it turned out really cute! Thank you for sharing :)
Hi... First I want to thank you for everything you taught us! I'm a beginner and I've learned alot from you... I want to ask if can we do the same hat with 2.5mm hook?
Wonderful! Depends - 2.5mm hook is a bit smaller of a hook to use with worsted weight yarn. I personally would have trouble getting the worsted weight yarn to stay on there correctly and not split. If you use a thinner yarn for the hat to fit the 2.5 mm hook, then the hat's measurements won't be what they are in the video.
Hola, de cuantos milímetros de grosor es el hilo o estambre? Saludos desde México 🇲🇽
Hii ma'am 😊. I loved d design very much. Want to make it for myself nd my sis. U taught how to sew d top part but can u tell how to lock or side stitch after completing d crochet? What is the thickness of d wool u r using? Is it available online? Thanks for such a loving video😘
🥳🥳🥳💞💞💞
Easier than knitting. I can see why crochet is getting so popular.
I love this pattern. Thank you for sharing it. I have a question. I got started on it and didn't remember til I had like 5 or 6 rows to measure. You had 12 inches. I only had 10. I used #4 yarn and same hook size. I don't crochet super tight so. I don't want to start over. I will just make it this way.. anyway I would like to make more of those. My question is.. would you suggest I chain more? If yes how many? Or use bigger hook. If yes what size? Thanks 🌷
I generally suggest using a larger hook, as that is the simplest thing to change. Sometimes #4 yarn can vary in thickness too, so you can also try a thicker #4 yarn as well.
@@naztazia thank you
Hey Donna, just wondering how much does the yarn you used weight? Whenever I try to make a hat it comes out boxy. Also, where can I find the fuzzy ball you used? Great tutorial by the way! ❤
It's a 100% acrylic, medium, worsted weight yarn. There's 810 yards (about 740 meters) in a skein, and the skein weighs 16 ounces (about 454 grams). I found the pompom in my local Joanns near the yarn section, which is a a USA craft place. Amzn also has them as well.
Thank you so much im going to make a hat right now ❤
Hi. Please could you put a link in for sewing up the hat? That’s where I fail! Thank you x
This sewing with crochet video should help: ruclips.net/video/plb1nHriu7U/видео.html
Thank you xx
I finished the hat. I sold it up but it’s too short. If I clench the top together, it won’t fit on my head.😢 so I’m going to crochet upwards until it does
I have another question. If my beginning rows do not measure to 12inches (mine measures 10in), can I use a larger hook to get to 12 inches? And then make the remaining rows to 19-20in?
Yes, the best (and easiest) is to adjust the hook size to get the correct measurement.
Mine keeps curling up is it cause of the yarn I'm using ? It also looks shorter than yours there's something I keep messing up on
Beginner here. How come when I chain back through the 12 back loops, I’m only counting 9 instead of 12?
The stitch markers and counting are important, especially on the first row or two. They let you know where to stop the one type of stitch and then begin the other section. I would assume you have gone too far with the crown part of the stitch, which is why there's not enough stitches left for the brim ribbing section.
Where would I find the Pom Pom that I see on your hat in the video!?
I think that one I found in Joanns by the yarn (USA craft place). It looks similar to the ones I also got on Amzn as well.
Does the brim stretch out after wearing a while? Common issue for me😕
I haven't ever had any issues.
@@naztazia thanks for the reply Happy Holidays
Help plz. My head is 22" around 😇 I'm not sure how to make the hat big enuff for my size😇 I did go to your page, but still can't figure out how to increase. 😰 Plz help, ASAP!!! It is for my son who rides A motorcycle back & forth to work. It sometimes is only 25" when he leaves in the mornings, burrrrrrr. Ty you are a very good teacher. Although way to fast for this old mom.😇 Joy Bradford, (A very faithful fan😇😇😇
This hat is sized for a 22" head. The written pattern has adjustments for smaller heads (children/teens) and "mens" heads (24") - although sometimes between my head and hair I have more like a 24" head.
You are asam
I have tried this pattern at LEAST 15 times and cannot make it past row 4! My number of stitches keeps lessening and no matter what size hook I use it always ends up being 10 inches! The hat looks lovely, but I think this pattern isn’t for me….
Add more stitches to make it long
Same for me.
I got the directions for a woman's, but eat would be the count for a man's???
Other sizes and directions for slight modifications are on my website (link in description of video).
@@naztazia thank you. Stay safe. ♥️🦃🙏🏻🧶
