    Just made this and it's so cute! It was a little small for me so I wrapped it around my head as I went to see how many sets I would need. I love the pretty edge on the brim. I'm picking up crochet again and this was a nice, quick starter project. I'm planning to do a matching scarf with this stitch combo. Thank you so much for offering the pattern for free!

      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog I found it and I'm about a third through it already. It's so much quicker without the decreases lol. Thanks again!

      I did the same thing. I’m making it for my friend.
      This is probably a dumb question but do I turn my work inside out to stitch them together? I can’t tell in the video. It would make since it but I want to make sure.

    • @pjerzizz
      @pjerzizz Месяц назад +1

      @sarahcaldwell3576 That's what I did so it isn't visible from the outside. Next time I'd prolly do a chain stitch instead of hand sewing though. You definitely want to match stitches on each side before you get too far into it as well. I made that mistake and had to redo the seam.

      Yes, you sew it on the wrong side.

    This is such a beautiful design! Thank you for the detailed video and written instructions. Is there a way to adjust it to make the hat slouchier?

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  23 часа назад

      You're very welcome! You could make the hat slouchier by starting with more chains as in the pattern indicated, adding more sts for the body part in a multiple of 2.

    Hi … I love this short row method.. Is there any multiples that I need to follow for this pattern? If I want to make it bigger or smaller.. Thanks in advance 😊

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  2 года назад +1

      You would need to make more or less crossed dc sts for the body of the hat, that are multiple of 2. So add or substract that even number from the total amount of starting chains indicated in the pattern.

      Hi, the hat height is 9.5 inches (24 cm). The width about 19 inches... You can make more/less rows to fit your own head.

    I have 4.5 mm crochet hook. Can you please suggest how many chains I make on starting . You took 39 chain for adult using 5.5mm crocia hook, I am using vardhman brand 4 ply wool. and pony company 4.5mm crosia hook

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  10 месяцев назад

      Hi, you will need to make a gauge swatch with your yarn and hook. See how many stitches you need to reach the height of the hat.

    Nice hat

  • @KentuckyWoman2
    @KentuckyWoman2 11 месяцев назад

    Great, except that adding the last row of bcdc made the hat way too loose for me. In fact, I could only make 14 of those rows. I'll have to figure out how to make this a bit smaller for my head so that it comes out right.

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  10 месяцев назад

      You can easily customize it. Just substract the last repeat rows.

  • @thecrochetqueenie9968
    @thecrochetqueenie9968 7 месяцев назад

    If you repeat rows 3-6 from row 7-63, it ends up on a row 3. Are we supposed to repeat row 3 for both rows 63 and 64?

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  7 месяцев назад

      No! Repeat rows 3-6 until you have 15 rows with the back crossed stitches!
      At the last repeat you will only work the row with crossed stitches.
      In other words, you will repeat the sequence:
      1 row with crossed sts and
      3 rows with yo-slsts!
      Finish the hat on the WS with a row of crossed stitches, this way:
      Last row: yoslst-blo in each of next 7 sts (for the brim), work 11 bcrdc over next 22 sts, 1 bcrhdc, 2 yo-slst-blo, 1 slst blo in each of last 5 sts.

    Hello, this is such a beautiful pattern, can I make it with a weight 3 yarn? How will that affect the dimensions?

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  Год назад

      I'm glad you like it! 😊 If you are using a thinner yarn as in the pattern indicated, you will need to alterate the pattern, start more chains for the hat height and add more rows in the pattern repeat for the width.

    Can u make this child like she's 3-12

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  Год назад +1

      Yes, you can, but you would need to start with less chains for the hat height. And make fewer rows for the hat width. I have another hat pattern that has several sizes, from 12 month to adult large. Check it out on my blog here: www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2017/10/side2side-hat-free-crochet-pattern.html
