  • Learn how to crochet the Bex Hat, with this video tutorial by Kinga from My Hobby is Crochet.
    This hat comes in adult women size, it has a pretty knit look texture and a shaped top.
    The hat is worked sideways in rows, back and forth, then seamed together at the back with an invisible seam. You can adjust the width of the hat by working more/less rows in the pattern repeat.

    Hi … I love this short row method.. Is there any multiples that I need to follow for this pattern? If I want to make it bigger or smaller.. Thanks in advance 😊

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  Год назад +1

      You would need to make more or less crossed dc sts for the body of the hat, that are multiple of 2. So add or substract that even number from the total amount of starting chains indicated in the pattern.

    I love this hat so much!!! Do you have this pattern in a scarf version? I am new to crochet and can’t quite work my head around figuring it out for myself yet, but I would really love a matching scarf for my beautiful hat! ❤

    Great, except that adding the last row of bcdc made the hat way too loose for me. In fact, I could only make 14 of those rows. I'll have to figure out how to make this a bit smaller for my head so that it comes out right.

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  4 месяца назад

      You can easily customize it. Just substract the last repeat rows.

    Hello, this is such a beautiful pattern, can I make it with a weight 3 yarn? How will that affect the dimensions?

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  9 месяцев назад

      I'm glad you like it! 😊 If you are using a thinner yarn as in the pattern indicated, you will need to alterate the pattern, start more chains for the hat height and add more rows in the pattern repeat for the width.

    I have 4.5 mm crochet hook. Can you please suggest how many chains I make on starting . You took 39 chain for adult using 5.5mm crocia hook, I am using vardhman brand 4 ply wool. and pony company 4.5mm crosia hook

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  4 месяца назад

      Hi, you will need to make a gauge swatch with your yarn and hook. See how many stitches you need to reach the height of the hat.

    If you repeat rows 3-6 from row 7-63, it ends up on a row 3. Are we supposed to repeat row 3 for both rows 63 and 64?

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  Месяц назад

      No! Repeat rows 3-6 until you have 15 rows with the back crossed stitches!
      At the last repeat you will only work the row with crossed stitches.
      In other words, you will repeat the sequence:
      1 row with crossed sts and
      3 rows with yo-slsts!
      Finish the hat on the WS with a row of crossed stitches, this way:
      Last row: yoslst-blo in each of next 7 sts (for the brim), work 11 bcrdc over next 22 sts, 1 bcrhdc, 2 yo-slst-blo, 1 slst blo in each of last 5 sts.

    • @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
      @MyHobbyisCrochetBlog  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can, but you would need to start with less chains for the hat height. And make fewer rows for the hat width. I have another hat pattern that has several sizes, from 12 month to adult large. Check it out on my blog here: www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2017/10/side2side-hat-free-crochet-pattern.html
