You guys remind me of me and my wife. Always supportive, never trying to push each other’s buttons or start a conflict. You guys really love each other and are grounded in faith. I bet it’s the same off camera too
Thank you for the shoutout! I've been a fan of your channel, with your humour, honesty and humility for a long time. I've had the privilege of watching your channel and your family grow over the years, and I thank you all for that. This video is a great example of how you keep it real. You could just cut off the crash, and made it seem like just a perfect day...but you showed the entire thing in all of its crashiness (is that a word?!!), and it's nice that it survived it's crash landing, which is always a bonus. And that second plane, it flies really scale, doesn't it? LOL!! Take care you all!
Consider how long you have been watching this channel. Nate learned to be quite a pilot. Much more so than me watching them! Lucky and experienced! It's a good day and we appreciate all of it. It's been a great channel to watch grow!
Let's all be corny together :) Really nice plan and some fantastic flying! Abby is doing a great job at the FPV flying and filming. I appreciate you guys, thanks for another great video. God bless!
Thank you for the great video and sharing the awesome words and feelings. As a Patreon we feel blessed to have you all in our lives as well. Thank you for all you do. Luv ya and God bless.
Communication, permission, communication… there are thousands of flying locations across the country that share airspace with both RC and full scale. Pretty cool when done properly! 👍😁😎⚓️
Some good flying, good landings, a decent crash with no casualties, & fabulously great videoing by ground crew Abby with drone footage for ffa investigation as to the cause of the crash 🤔😏😏. Of course responsibly insured. Sailor's delivered it all in one video 🤯🤯 WHAT more could you ask for.👏👏👏👏. ⚓⚓👍💚💜💛👍🤔😏🤯🤯👏👏👍⚓⚓.
Plan, plan, plan is the word your looking for have a plan, it’s referred to as flying an amount of time ahead (not for you guys but for the viewers) always be preparing for your next piece of your flight
You may feel bad about the crash and think there are so many better pilots but I assure you, you are better than the vast majority of us lol, great flying ❤
Nate, your flying skills continue to get better and better and you are more confident in your flying. Remember: Expo is your friend! Time to get Abby back in the air my man! PS: I love this plane - mild to wild!
Observations. First...Nat...you CAN be a show pilot (you are a show pilot). You entertain the RC Saylors RUclips family every single week...thank you for the show! But...if you want to "up" your game I give you this challenge: find some music (yeah...should probably start with some canned YT music so you do get a copyright strike), and then....PLAN a flight routine...just like the full scale aerobatic pilots do it (watch how Michael Goulian does it). I know it would be immensely and personally satisfying...and WE would love to see it. (Once I'm comfortable flying fixed wing RC again...I may give it a try). Cool biplane...you've given me yet another to hopefully one day add to my hanger. God Bless you all.
@ 3:50, I don't think you need a " method" or plan when flying acrobat style. Go with what feels good, and what you want. That is the magic that brings out the pilot. In other words , Nate, just let it all hang out and have fun !!
If you want a purpose in flying, IMAC is exactly what you need. I felt the same way and almost got bored with the hobby. Got into IMAC and never looked back
Thanks for another fun video. I very rarely use any expo or low rates on any of my planes. Don't ask, way to many. But the EFlite Ultimate Bipe is one of very few that I found EXPO to be helpful. Just a little too twitchy without. 15% across the board helped it out for me. Just guessing here, maybe a little pattern comp in the future?
Good guess, but no! I’m not sure Id ever be that good. If I had someone available to teach me, maybe! Thanks for the tip on how yours is set up, and for watching 👍😁😎⚓️
I live in Fargo ND. And up in grand forks nd is where all the drone stuff is going one. Well, when all the new rules came out I kept calling the tower to tell them I would be flying a a park I have always flown at and they kept asking why I'm calling. Well, I was was wothin 5 miles of the airport so I was suppose to call. After about the 10th time I got got invited to the airport to "talk". I spoke with the head of air traffic control and a guy from the FAA. He had something to do with over seeing maintenence. Anyway, they were both shocked about how fast we could come down and land and really didn't understand the RC side of things. This video proves the point I made to them that day. We all can fly in the same sky's with some common sense. By the end of the conversation I was told I didn't need to call the tower anymore. And I told them, yes I do. If these rules are in place, I should not get a pass just because we spoke and I fallow the other rc flight rules. But I ended up joining and rc club that owns its own land and strip so no more having to call. Thanks for the great video as always.
Well at least yours is still flyable I broke the wing mounts on the fuse of mine. Top side and bottom side. She pretty much just hangs up and looks pretty now. I thought I wanted to learn 3d. But nope I will pass on that and stick to the regular flying. Your skills are getting better and better Nate. You were my inspiration to get back into flying and to keep on flying. May God continue to bless you and the sailor family. Oh and btw I have twin sons who are 21. 1 twin gave me my first grandson in December and the other twin is giving me my 2nd grandson in May. So papaw has 2 future rc pilot buddy's in the works. Gotta keep the hobby alive!
just ordered this plane will fly it scale mostly.. i wanted a sopwith or some other war biplane but im not the best pilot yet and they are a bit difficult ...i will add a gyro (my crutch) but after 3 yrs of flying i need more air time cause i dont like crashing or tree landings LOL..one day ill fly straight sticks and try some 3D....LOVE you guys and God bless... PS whats with HOBBYZONE almost 90 percent of their inventory are OUT OF STOCK...same for other companies is China holding out on us ???
If you ever figure out what's causing the random false low battery voltage alarms let us know. My Turbo Timber is doing exactly that. I finally turned off the low-voltage alarm and just listen to the smart battery voltage telemetry every minute. It has a 60 amp Avian Smart ESC ( PN SPMXAE1060C) and AR637T flying on the NX8.
Did you ever figure out the telemetry issue? I have the same plane and the telemetry works from time to time but not consistently. Wondering if its an esc issue.
Hello rc saylors, this is unrelated to the video, but do you know If the standard DXS controler that comes with the carbon cub s 2 is compatible with the UMX voodoo plane?
So you had too have had Right rudder doing the knife edge I believe ... and it looked like all of sudden there was a hard left rudder that started everything....had any problems after that ??
Ron I just bound my ultimate to the radio. I haven't flown it yet. Did you remove the nose weights? So far I'm not planning to remove them. Are you liking the plane?
Nice looking bird. I’d love to have one but My fleet is now up to 5 . And I have other hobbies too. DJI Air2S with all the extras and 3 FPV drones, guns :Reloading ammo and the list goes on. Maybe I need to drop a few of hobbies and just buy more planes. LO L
I put 40% on the throws and had the ailerons at 50% and still the roll rate was awesome. I accidentally put it in thrust reverse while flying oops repaired the crashed it again. Too much plane for me but It is fixable. U are flying this plane quite well.
You made a big point to prove me wrong last time I commented. You devoted a video to it. You did it again Nate and I say you blamed a servo again. Prove me wrong this time. I'm not a hater I like you and your family and I love god. If you take a crash in stride no matter what you will be on another level. IMHO.
I’m pretty sure I tried to blame the servo but ultimately said it was my dumb thumbs that cause this to go down. Right? Why is that the main focus of our video for you? Did we do something to upset you in a way that you just want to jump down my throat for a mistake I made? I’ve flown at airfields with other people a LOT, and everyone loves “having an excuse” when they crash. The best one I’ve always thought is “solar flares” must’ve been a rogue solar flare, lol.. No one likes to admit the crash was their fault with their tails tucked between their legs. I’m human. Not only will I crash, but I may blame the crash on something like a servo failure when really it was my fault. See, in the moment I didn’t get to watch the video, zoomed in or with chase shots or whatever. It’s hard to be “slow motion video” levels of critical about myself while “live” out in the field flying. I would greatly appreciate it if, while you are watching our videos, you try to keep that in the back of your mind. I am not perfect. Nothing about what I say or do in our videos is ever scripted. It’s all just real life, and flying fun! And I can promise you that, but that’s also all I can promise you’ll ever have on our channel. 👍❤️😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors you misunderstand I don't want you to be critical of yourself and you don't have to be. the top pilots when they crashed they really don't say much. Nobody in this hobby really wants to see a guy crashes plane I don't watch it for that reason. So again I truly think you're too hard on yourself. Yeah and it is funny to hear people talk about solar flares but you do me a favor then watch some of the top videos the top guys they're just more, calm but it it's not such a big deal. You're good at what you do and you show a lot of good stuff it's good and I think you can be real big I think you're going to have a lot bigger channel. Happy Easter to you and Abby. And try pattern flying to have a routine or purpose like you said in the beginning.
I appreciate the follow up Joe. RUclips is such a fickle thing. It’s chalk full of amazing people, and horrible people. Sometimes it’s hard to decipher where comments fall, which means more often than not, while I scroll through comments I’m at times already in a defensive position. The last comment I just read was from a person on our baby announcement video wishing us luck that he doesn’t turn out as stupid and cringy as us… hey, we’ve had way worse, but I hope this puts my response in perspective. Thanks for your encouraging words 😁⚓️
RCSAYLORS, Do you not know that you are to be 200 feet from a full scale take-off and landing. Please stay safe out there, I wouldn't want to see you lose your lovely place to fly. From one AMA member to another. I know this to be true because I too flow at a airport for 12 years, and It just takes one pilot to make you time there go south real fast.
100% understood my friend. The good news is we stay in constant radio and visual communication with anyone flying there, ever. Also, we happen to know this one particular Pilot very well, which helps. But most importantly, he was well over 200 feet away before our little foam wheels left the ground. I think our camera lense and zoom can be deceiving at times, but we have nothing but respect for anyone in the air. Thanks for watching 👍😎⚓️
I’m already quite experienced in flying rc planes but is there any EDF RC jets in the price range of £200-£300 that can be shipped to the UK that you would recommend, i’ve been looking all day and can’t find one with rudder, ailerons, elevators and landing gear (the landing gear doesn’t have to be retractable), although i have quite tight expectations for one like i want it to be under a metre but i want it around 70cm in wingspan and i was looking for a ready to fly one but i don’t think there is any but if there is a PNP EDF jet that would stay in the price range with a battery, transmitter and charger please send a link to it! (sorry for the long message)❤❤❤
@Phil M I was looking at a Freewing F/A-18 (64mm) for a great price but it has no rudder which i’m guessing really restricts the tricks you can do I was just looking at the 64mm line from freewing and turns out there is an F- 16 for the same price but has rudder! (aswell as elevators and ailerons) Thank you for suggesting the plane you did! 😁😁😁
I’d still call that a crash, just a softer one than average 😅 When it happened, I was honestly expecting it to be in pieces. Was Very surprised to find it in basically perfect shape! 👍😁😎👍
Ok this is the second video I watched that an alarm came on the radio and the pilots didn’t no why it was going off🤦🏻♂️ and with the same plane on both video! Even the other pilot didn’t know what was the alarm for🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂😂
Stunt / race capability plane not for beginners . The physics of these planes are extremely sensitive. Don't under rate your pilot skills . Watching you suddenly decide to break from a planned course . Made me sweat 😓. God bless your growing flight crew 🙏
Communication and knowing that pilot in particular Very Well. Radio communication plus visual communication and knowing exactly what his intentions are 👍😎⚓️
In my opinion the AMA is a worthless organization because they folded like a cheap suit when it came To standing up for the rc hobby against overregulation... shame on them Shame.
nost RC planes at this size lack a suspension, unless you use the whole Runway your not gonna get a "perfect" landing, plus stunt planes are very sensitive.
If upright, from a dive, rolling left, left aileron, then left rudder, and up elevator, you're spinning, begin to add opposite aileron and more elevator which levels wings and raises the nose. Throttle controls the speed of the spin and is needed to keep the spin flat. So both sticks follow each other at beginning, but opposite aileron controls how flat. Inverted, from a dive, sticks are in or away, so left aileron and right rudder, then opposite aileron and right aileron with down elevator, you're inverted down elevator raises the nose, throttle controls speed of spin and opposite aileron controls flatness. Too much throw on surfaces can cause a fall out of the spin, it impedes the spin, too little it won't happen. A neutral CG is a good idea too. Need I remind you to give yourself plenty of altitude, and exiting the maneuver is usually accomplished by neutralizing the sticks easy back on throttle. Depending on the mass of the plane it may continue to rotate on it's own for 1-2 spins after neutralization, be ready for that with height. Also the planes orientation may be top/bottom/side towards you, don't panic, in time you will learn your planes characteristics.
@@jeffs7915 thank you for going to that much trouble to explain it to me. I have got to that point where Iam getting better at flying and i just wanted to know how to take it the next level thank you
You might be surprised to know that hundreds of airports across the country allow this. Many things need to be in place before doing this, though. NEVER just jump out of your car and fly ANYWHERE without Permission!! Then, you’ll need to make sure it is identified that you’re flying RC at this location, so full scale pilots know what to look for, potentially. Radio communication is necessary as well, both on our end, but the full scale Pilot as well. 👍😁😎⚓️
@TheRcSaylors cool good to know, we used to lonnnggg time ago, but wasn't sure with all the new regs these days, basically up to the airport manager essentially and how you work out the situation. Awesome thanks! Great videos by the way
I cannot believe that you are legal flying a model in the immediate vicinity of full size aircraft!!! In Canada that would result in charges and stiff fines!
In the US, people fly at thousands of AMA sanctioned flying sites, hundreds of which are at full scale airports. As long as you have permission, and in our case, a way to communicate with the full scale pilots and fly safe with respect, you should be fine. It’s pretty wild how different countries can have so many different rules/ laws not just for RC, but life in general. I feel Blessed to live in the US at times, and at other times I worry. This is where RC comes in handy! It is usually a great stress reliever that brings us all closer together! Happy, and Safe flying my friend! 👍😁😎⚓️
I just acquired a 1400mm FMS Pitts. Love that thing. I just finished dialing in the CG with both 4A and 5A battery packs. I have the 550kv motor change and 100A ESC upgrade and it fly's extremely well after fine tuning. Either a 16x8 Xoar or 15x8E APC prop hauls this thing around quite nicely. Now if you get a balsa Ultimate, that's a different story.

I think I’m gonna have to take a dive into this one. Toroid?
@@TheRcSaylors yeh....chat with neighborhood amateur radio man...use them in equip to improve inductance...Turnigy uses these...(aka...'ferrite ring')
Hey Nate,
You got me sold on this plane. I would like to know if you ever thought about taking out the weights to lighten up the plane ?
Thanks
Ron I just bound my ultimate to the radio. I haven't flown it yet.
Did you remove the nose weights?
So far I'm not planning to remove them.
Are you liking the plane?
Nice looking bird. I’d love to have one but My fleet is now up to 5 . And I have other hobbies too. DJI Air2S with all the extras and 3 FPV drones, guns :Reloading ammo and the list goes on. Maybe I need to drop a few of hobbies and just buy more planes. LO L
according to someone else on RUclips AMA insurance only kicks in after you have exhausted your homeowners insurance
Are you kids going to make it FEFI in Muncie this year?
I put 40% on the throws and had the ailerons at 50% and still the roll rate was awesome. I accidentally put it in thrust reverse while flying oops repaired the crashed it again. Too much plane for me but It is fixable. U are flying this plane quite well.
And, (at times) there is "A Madness to my Method."
He said its not an 3d but it says 3d right on it lol im thinking on getting this or the extra 300 maybe even a v900,or 1200
RCSAYLORS, Do you not know that you are to be 200 feet from a full scale take-off and landing.
@Phil M FMS makes a beautiful 64mm Rafeale. Very nicely detailed. No retracts, though, but nice model.
@Phil M Thanks! this will really help!
@Phil M I was looking at a Freewing F/A-18 (64mm) for a great price but it has no rudder which i’m guessing really restricts the tricks you can do
I was just looking at the 64mm line from freewing and turns out there is an F- 16 for the same price but has rudder! (aswell as elevators and ailerons) Thank you for suggesting the plane you did! 😁😁😁
Look at Motion RC, their 64mm F-16 is great, but I don't know if they ship outside of the U.S.
@@Minutemman yeah i was looking at it and i think the F-16 is what i’m gonna get also they have a european server to order from
No crash. Just in the rough lol
I am Eleven years old I am a beginner which airplane do you suggest to me?
The horizon hobby aeroscout
That did not look like pilot error to me
Stunt / race capability plane not for beginners . The physics of these planes are extremely sensitive. Don't under rate your pilot skills . Watching you suddenly decide to break from a planned course . Made me sweat 😓. God bless your growing flight crew 🙏
How on earth are you guys allowed to just fly at a live air-strip like that between their takeoffs, landings and such.......??
Communication and knowing that pilot in particular Very Well. Radio communication plus visual communication and knowing exactly what his intentions are 👍😎⚓️
In my opinion the AMA is a worthless organization because they folded like a cheap suit when it came To standing up for the rc hobby against overregulation... shame on them Shame.
👍👍😁😁
RC RYANAIR
nost RC planes at this size lack a suspension, unless you use the whole Runway your not gonna get a "perfect" landing, plus stunt planes are very sensitive.
how do you do a flat spin?
I have got to that point where Iam getting better at flying and i just wanted to know how to take it the next level thank you
Nate, did you ever want to be a real pilot? I feel a lot of rc pilots wanted to be real pilots. Me included.
So..what exactly am I supposed to believe come on click bait🙄
How can you legally fly on an active runway?
Where’s the crash?
The Pitts Fly's Better I am a Ultimate flyer and Did not care for this model of a Ultimate!!! Thank for the vid!
I have this plane - it is a handful to fly - NOT FOR BEGINNERS. Mine flies kind of nose heavy.
Did you take the stock steel weights out of the nose? Doing so makes it a joy to fly.
Hold on a second... You are flying rc on an active runway? How is this possible?
You need to have a communication radio monitoring the frequency of the field. Obviously you have to yield to the full scale.
Stop showing off Nate, lol just kidding
😂😅 Thanks for watching! 👍😁⚓️
YOU MUST HAVE A VERY GOOD PAYING JOB, CAUSE YOU CRASH WAY TOO MANY PLANES TO BE POOR
he gets everything for free...this is basically one giant advertisement so horizon sends him all their new planes at no cost.
dude take up knitting or trains, flying is not your strong point! maybe boats?
Aren’t you a ray of sunstroke. You should shut your computer off and sell it.
ou just cant fly dude. hang it up. take up needlecraft maybe
Lol 😂😅❤️⚓️
