Nice flying and landing Nate ,
Amy i think you could keep up with a humming bird, your awesome
😊
I learned to build and fly on balsa planes, back in the 70s. The Cessna 160 was my favorite.
It’s got a chance to make a strong come back with this plane! 👍😁😎⚓️
Hey Nate and Abby, You guys motivated me into getting into the hobby and buying this balsa bind and fly ultra stick as my first plane! I'm a college student living in AZ and work outside of school so this hobby has really helped me find a fun and peaceful pass time. I appreciate you guys and all the good info you share keep up the good content!
Man I'm loving this plane! I already have 3 stick planes, including a das ugly stik, I can't possibly need another stik plane! I love the clear covering on the bottom of the wing and tail, such a cool detail
Great flying! This is a awesome classic, reborn, that any RC airplane enthusiast has got to have!
That inverted flying !!!! Wow so locked in 😮😁👌
If it wasn't for you guys, I would have stuck to full scale and FPV. Thanks for inspiring me back to LOS, which is always more challenging.
AWESOME MAIDEN flight, Nate!! WHAT?!...no INVERTED SHOW PASS?!? I ALWAYS say "gimme a little SALSA with my BALSA"!! NICE DRONE chasing, ABBY!! Thanks Saylors for another HONESTLY FUN review!! 💟👍😘
These have always been great flyers. I have an older one (Mini Ultra Stick) that was always one of my favorite planes.
If it wasn't for you guys, I would have stuck with full scale and FPV. Thanks a lot for inspiring me back to LOS.
Late squad today happy flying all and happy Easter 🐣 everyone enjoy the holidays 😊👍⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Very nice plane
Awesome video, I’m seeing a rising trend in the rc hobby of flying wood planes again.
This is basically an updated and slightly larger version of the old E-flite MUS (mini Ultra Stick) which was a very popular model that they sold for 13yrs. The only reason they discontinued it is because the factory that they partnered with for manufacturing went out of business. I was so happy when they announced this plane, and pre-ordered one immediately along with the optional wheel pants. I plan to fly it on SMC 4s 2800 HVP packs, and it should be a beast on those! They are planning to ship to customers in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to it. I have balsa and foam planes, and like both, but balsa just flies better, and lasts longer. Foam's only advantages are that it is easier and quicker to repair back to flying condition, and in general costs less.
Abby and Nate y'all rock! Love the stick! Peace
Excellent flight and review. You two are the best.
Good to see that you guys are including more chase footage :-)
Nice indeed, have a great day 😎
My radio does the same with my new slow ultra stick. No issues with any other of my planes. Wonder if spektrum did something at the factory with the latest batch of electronics going into the planes. Maybe firmware updated needed.
Come to the Balsa (dark) side Nat...we have cookies! Sticks are really cool planes. I've always wanted one...so as soon as budget allows (middle of the month?)...I'll get this one. Nice maiden. Looks like you were about to get some heavy weather. Hope you all are safe. God bless.
Yeah I've always liked stick's and started out with one around 1980 with a glow engine so I'm getting that as soon as it's back in stock!
I learned how to fly on the Eflite MINI ultra stick years and years ago. Nice to see this guy make a comeback with none of the hassle.
Mini ultra stick was my first 4 channel plane after i learned on a lazybee back in the day. I miss flying balsa airplanes. Foamies are great for the flexibility in designs, but there's just something special about the wooden ones.
You've demonstrated some serious skills with this one🍺
I have the Ultra Stick 50e and I love it. It's a great airplane.
"This is a whole new level of RC" while flying a plane made of balsa, used since the 1930's at least... 😉
Now all that's left is for Nate to buy a balsa kit and build a plane. There's a few nice, laser cut, kits out there. Banggood have some of them.
I had a Eflite 25 Ultra stick reminds me of it gotta have it
Just got the 1.5 metre hangar 9 today. This will complement it if ever they come to uk.
cool!
nice they included the infrastructure for separate aileron servos so you can opt for separate flaps...
This is definitely going to be my first balsa👍🏼
Wise choice! 👍😁😎⚓️
NIIIICE 👌🏻
Hurray ❤ please build a pheonix model plane next please 🙏🏼
I have a foam ugly stik, but I would say that thing looks like a fly's even better! I don't know if I'd rate it as enjoyable as eating bacon, but it's probably pretty close.
If you split the ailerons, remember that the inner part is the flap, the outer part becomes the new ailerons.
Yo
This is a great flying plane, kinda debunks bigger flies better.
Nothing else flies like balsa! Did you have to adjust your gains when you increased your aileron throws?
Wow :-)
nice flight...just a thought...after you made the throw adjustment on the Ailerons, it needs mechanical adjustment for neutral alignment...they're both down a little...not being a SA just fyi...great looking stick !!!
Love your opening commentary, Nate. GREAT vid, guys. Thanks for the awesome cam work Abby! Hey, speaking of you, Abby- I'm calling for YOU to get on the sticks and take that ugly one for a ride! Be well from we old goats in Michigan :)
It reminds me of a Q-500 racer.
2023 the year of no safe , I like it
Hey Nate I have a dx-8 does the same thing showing low voltage with a fresh battery! Seiko call Horizon Hobby and see what's up with that! Happy flying
Ok, I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve gotta figure this out.. I’ll keep everyone updated 👍😁😎⚓️
have yall flown the rv-8s from flex u should try the 60e model
Balsa has ALWAYS been better than foam. The sad pert is, nobody builds them old school (from kits) anymore. Everything
s become throw away" now. I still have the balsa models I built more than 35 years ago and can still be made airworthy..
Now you know why us old farts prefer balsa .
And we never bought arfs because the ones we built were lighter and straighter .
Now try a 25 minute nitro flight !!!!
Fun to watch
get a bancroft jet power you will love it
Finally they did it I been waiting for this my whole life BNF balda planes cause I love flying balda planes but after building hundreds of them from a box full of wood pieces and tons of ca glue and tightbond 2 wood glue building all of them I can finally just buy one like a foamy bind it and fly so simple and easy and no need to build I hope they make a lot more balda BNF in future and give plans to be able to rebuild the plane if it crashes and make it where we can either build the parts over plans or sell the spare parts of plane like winga fuse and control surfaces ECT but alot of times you can glue a crashed balda plane to getther with out plans and just put in strong supports to hold it all together and like new
Will it knife edge? The fuselage looks too shallow.
How about learning to do a flat spin on your simulator , I'm too chicken to try it😅
Who Wood 🪵have believed Nate flying balsa 😲😄. It did fly snappy & well. Good droning by Abby. Definitely a good Maiden. ⚓⚓👍💛💜💚👍😲🪵😄👍⚓.
Did i fly the Maiden with 3s or 4s lipos?
4S 2200mah 👍😁😎⚓️
All linked in our description box and pinning comment!
How much is the flight plane using putting up price down😊
At night when have bad dreams ...well nightmares 😕 I see clamps glue pins 📌 plans and BALASA.😬 BGOOD 😇
Would you recommend for first Airplane i never flown before
It COULD be a great option for a beginner. Way better tech than the hobby had a decade ago. However there are better options for beginners and a little cheaper IMO. Hope this helps! 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors The reason is I wanna learn to fly Airplanes now i saw this it's a must have for me
@@jonspikes4935 start if with a foamie like the aeroscout or apprentice sts. Hone your skills and then pull the trigger on something like this. Patience is virtue. I jumped to soon and put a ultimate 3d into the ground. Take your time it's worth it in the long run. Happy flying.
@@jackmalone6132 Ok thankyou verry much
No telemetry rx according to the web page.
AR631
I'll stick with the turbo Timber evolution for the same price.
Did I hear a "sub-species of Evil Laugh" at about 4:44?
Vn video as always. But this is the problem with HH, the same stuff over and over. We on the 3rd version of the same cz t28 now it's yellow and they added 75 bucks to it. I wish they would make a CZ zero .
They had the P-39 Airacobra for a while and it was great! Gotta pick up a Beechcraft if you want something truly different 👍😁😎⚓️
Set your watch back 40 or years . Cute plane but if the bnewbee stuffs it … its all over
The injected stuff is so much more repairable and should be much cheaper..
With a plane so light, I wonder how well it would fly in strong winds...
Perfect actually balsa flies better cause it doesn't flex like foam does and it's more sturdy and it can cut through wind alot better then foam I have micro balsa planes and can fly in 5-10 mph wind easily like it is nothing compared to foamy of same size I love balsa and have built 150 planes from planes or from kits that has just all the pieces pre cut and now I just want BNF balsas cause even arf balsas some take a good 4-6 hours to get ready to fly I love the BNF balsa I hope they do more in the future once you go balsa you never go back
@@youknoweverything7643 balsa is better but will not take a crash like foam. I still fly both. Foam is way easier to repair.
@@jackmalone6132 yea I know that but you can fix a balsa plane just takes more work and they can also be fixed after a crash without any plans just by literarily piecing the broken pieces together with ca glue then make new pieces based off of the broken ones as templates or if it's not to bad just make sul supports and braces and reinforce the crashed areas of the plane with more balso wood and make it work. I like foam cause you can fix it very easily. It down fall is that knlreder to get the colors and graphics and paint to look good again you gotta re paint the whole plane and then hopefully be able to buy the decals for it to make it look good again with balsa of the covering gets worn out or needs to be redone you just leak mm vgjj
First. Yahoooooooooooooooo
Mikey
Woot!! You got it! 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors hahaha. You guys are AWESOME. 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏
MIKEY
Member berry says "member when we used to build balsa... ya member"....
I'm that old.
😂👍😁😎⚓️
My Flite Test Simple Stick flies just like that for about $90 all in with receiver, motor, servos and wheels.
Balsa flights better! We’ll know fact!
FORGOT TO MENTION THIS PLANE IS WAY OVER PRICED.
Is it though? It’s an assembled balsa plane. What would you have this to compare to, to suggest it’s over priced? I mean, in All Fairness, Everything is currently over priced. ⚓️
great review... but another boring remake by Horizon...
AMA insurance is junk.
Why?
@TheRcSaylors They just don't pay off. I knew a guy who died flying. They paid nothing. Hit someone's car? AMA says to get the car insurance to cover it. The insurance is required trash.
Someone died while flying RCs?! Woah!!!
@TheRcSaylors There have been many RC deaths. Why wouldn't there be. People die mowing the lawn, and they don't intentionally stick their hand near the blade that will chop their hand off. But fuel RC pilots do. These deaths occur, but the chance of injury or death is likely greater driving to the field.
Do you guys have ‘regular’ 9-5 jobs to fund this hobby? If so what are they?!
Why would you even ask a question like that?
@@sirreginaldwilliams probably because they have a lot of r/c stuff.
@@sirreginaldwilliams well yeah making videos takes tons of time and they have a ton of cool toys. Also for some people youtube is a full time job. just curious cuz its impressive if they can manage to work full time enjoy their hobbys and keep up on videos
BALSA SUCKS COMPARED TO FOAM. FOAM IS MUCH MORE FORGIVING. HARD LANDING WITH BALSA AND THE PLANE IS DESTROYED.
balsa only sucks if you suck at flying try not crashing!!!
