@jennyhacking1289 yeah, to be fair, there's a lot of buildings that, once you find out what they looked like, it's a tragedy they're not still standing. Thanks for watching 😊
It would! I remember Belle View quite well, and I spent my teens in the mid to late 80s as a little punk rocker in that part of Salford, but I have never heard of Pomona Island.
The Westward Ho it was made into a nightclub disco in the 1970's. It was very popular back in the day. Spent many a night on the Ho with my friends good times.😊
Great walkabout Matt.. pamona island was chosen because there was a blast of fresh air would blow through it.. with the industry around Manchester and Salford it was heavily polluted..but Pomona island used to get this gush of fresh air so the Victorian’s would walk around there to breath it in✌️
Thanks Steve, yeah, funnily enough it could still serve the same purpose today as a nice green open space...unless the chemical explosion has contaminated the land? Thanks for watching 😊
@@matparks08 Not wrong, just a different angle. If you watch back on your videos you’ll notice that your eye contact isn’t with the camera it’s with the screen you’re looking at. I honestly don’t mean this negatively.
How wonderful would it have been if Manchester had retained this and Belle Vue among its many other lost gems. Another great video.

@@jeepsthetimebandit I think the nightclub boat would have gone by then 🤔
Belle Vue was epic as a young child back in the late 60's !
Enjoyed the tour and learning of it’s history 😊
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it

@@matparks08 I’m afraid it’ll be apartment blocks soon..it should be a wildlife oasis ✌️
So much history is lost to time 🙁
It certainly is, but thank goodness some records remain 🙂
You should look at the lens and not the viewfinder. It’ll make things better. Sorry if this sounds negative but it’s not meant to be.
I'm not sure quite what you mean Carl? 😟. Where are we going wrong?

Okay. I'll have a go 😊
