I think you might possibly have misinformed people about the use of Old Haugh (Hoff) End house being used for Gentleman Jack. It was in fact the right hand portion of the Georgian mansion building you filmed just prior to the bit you were standing in front of. Also I think that Branwell Bronte may have worked, prior to Luddenden Foot station, at Sowerby Bridge old station which used to stand roughly where Tesco S.B. now is. Please check, I could be wrong. Lovely vid. B.T. W. performed and directed many eons ago in the Hippodrome. Happy memories thereof.

Thanks for covering this area, the mill ruins are a complete surprise to me, I didn’t know it ever existed until now. I hope you will consider doing a return to Scammonden to look at the spooky aspect of the place particularly Deanhead Reservoir and the former Nont Sarah's pub and road which all have a reputation for being haunted. If you go at night, you might see the light orbs flitting around the valley 👻👻👽👽Thanks again.

The first abandoned building in the video was used in the BBC serialisation of The Railway Children as the location for "The Three Chimneys", back in 1968. All episodes of this black and white series can be found on RUclips. This also featured Jenny Agutter as one of the children, a role she reprised for the movie version a couple of years later.

How was it to be powered? Steam would have required a railway to bring in the coal and a waterwheel would not be much good on top of a hill.
