  • France's president, Emmanuel Macron, was opining on one of his favourite topics at The Hague, when activists made an intervention criticising the state of French democracy.

As Macron thanked the Nexus Institute for hosting him, one protester shouted: 'I think we lost something; where is French democracy?' at the start of Macron's speech on European sovereignty at the Nexus Institute. Another chimed in: 'Why did you bypass [the] French parliament?' in reference to the controversial pensions bill his government recently passed.

@@stormshadow5283 so you think that only the authorities can protect the people from their own vices and immorality? I think that authorities are the real receptacle of all vices and immoralities, and all they do is against the interests of people. I prefer the explosion of all the hate of the people against the holders of power than every "protection" made by the autohorirties to avoid "the vices and immorality" of the common persons. If you think in a so moderate way, that means
      1. you are involved with the power,
      2. you are a normal person thinking against his own interest
