Hi All, another overnight camp in the TETON XXL OUTFITTER Quick Tent but with the new Elite Rainfly XT!!
This additional rainfly (available fromTETON) really solves the problem of the shorter supplied rainfly and rain or snow getting between the tent and the cot.
Thanks to all the folks @ TETON for hooking me up with the rainfly!

Being an older camper, I don't get up off the ground (conventional tent) as well as I used to, so being able to sit in a tent/cot 19" off the ground is a great benefit to me. The first time I used the tent was while taking the BSA Outdoor Leadership Skills course, all outside on picnic tables, under an open ended shelter. You wouldn't think it would be cold here in Northeast Florida, but when we arrived at our site on Friday afternoon, it was 70 degrees. That night, however, the temperature dropped to 29 degrees with a steady 25 MPH cold wind, The next day it warmed up to 40 degrees with a 25 MPH wind, and the next night the temperature dropped to 22 degrees.
Knowing it was forecast to be this cold, I went to Lowes and purchased
:
Reflectix R-21 33.3-sq ft Unfaced Reflective Roll Insulation, which looks like bubble-wrap with reflective foil on both side (a roll 48" wide, 25 feet long cost about $44, and has very little weight). I put it between the cot and the tent, and I put a 16" wide section around the inside perimeter of the tent to reflect my body heat back to me. I also put one of those reflective Space Blankets under the rainfly with the reflective side facing downward, again to reflect my body heat back at me. Being a Floridian, our sleeping bags are only rated to about 50 degrees, so I nested two sleeping bags. This system worked well.
Thats awesome Louis! Great thinking and I had no idea Florida could get that cold! Who knew! I think one of therein strengths of the cot tent is the sitting and getting in and out position. Many older campers (me included) like that its not on the floor and especially out of the snow and mud! Thanks for the comment! Great to hear those tips! 👍
Your video is well organized, very detailed and it's quality is amazing! Thanks for the infomative review!
Thanks Sam - Glad you found it useful :)
These things look interesting, keeps you up off the ground and no undignified crawling to get in the thing.
Thanks for posting.
Yup - You got it, they are a good solution is weight is not an issue!
Great video! It's wonderful that you take your dog along for company.
Hi Frank - she comes everywhere with me :)
I grew up with Big Foot tales, then I grew out of it. Just a tale to scare kids around the camp fire. But lately somebody has brought it to my attention and I have seen many people claiming that they do exist and many videos posted where they actually seem to have caught far away glimpses of what appear genuine Big Foot. However, camera tricks have come a long way and pretty much anything can be doctored to appear as something that it is not. You seem to be an honorable and truthful person and being that you spend so much time in the backwoods; that would make your opinion on the subject very important to me.
I don't think they exist. You can hide yourself pretty easy in the forest but not your activity - especially in winter. We would see footprints, kill sites (I guess they eat animals) and nests (homes) if they roamed the forest near people. But if I find one - I'll let you know! 😉
Thank you Michael for the great video! I ran across your video looking for someone who had used the Teton XXL with the rain fly and your video was informative and delightful actually. I really enjoyed it! Thanks again!
Hi Cheryl - thanks for the kind comment and I'm glad you found the video useful :). Best wishes Michael
This is the first time I've seen a cot tent. Wow, it looks pretty cool!
Winter camping is always great.
I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Bigfatno - I know right - who knew about cot tents! Now I've had a couple fo them I really like them. The TETON is my favourite as it modular. I can use the cot and tent separately and its a good size. Thanks for commenting!
Really nice videos, thanks for putting the time and effort in. Well done!
Thank you very much! 😄
Nicely done!
I stumbled across the Teton xxl cot for car camping, by accident and bought it because it was so robust and a great deal. Then, I found your videos about the tent and rainfly! Now I'm hooked!
This is a great outfit for truck/car camping, and serves well for a base camp kind of setup while I'm out with my pack and hammock for trail hikes.
Really like the way you do your videos, and all of your observations. Great job! Wish I would make more time to document stuff like this! Thanks for your work!
Thats awesome Rock Climber! The TETON has been a great setup for me too - Fast and comfortable. I've used it from -30c to +30c and it works well! Hope you have many enjoyable nights in the cot tent! 👍
Thank you for sharing, I'm not able to backpack anymore and I think you have found me a solution. The cot tent seems a very secure and comfortable solution with a warm mattress and sleeping bag very much appreciated as your bones get older. I am going to price it so wish me luck.
Hi Paul - this is by far the most comfortable camping I've done and very suitable for people with some physical challenges. You won't be disappointed :) They are also a very reasonable price from Amazon. Best wishes Michael
We always put a stone in the fire, and put it under your chair or cot to fight the cold. Only lasts for a little while, but definitely helps. I'm getting my teton tomorrow, can't wait! Thanks for the videos 🍻
Great tip! Thanks E Pro! and good luck with the TETON! 👍
Absolutely love that setup. Really cool. Thank yo for sharing.
Thanks - It works great for me :)
Keep making those vids, real enjoyment. You just got a new sub
Thanks for the sub Glenn!
Just came over from Survival Russia. Subbed. Good video! Thanks!
Thanks for the sub WayPoint Survival - Glad you liked the video!
Esme showed in a warm and cozy way your Teton is a Winter winner. Very nice setup. I'm thinking the underside of the cot is affected in very much the same way as a hammock. An underquilt solves the problem for hammocks - maybe your cot might benefit from an underquilt as well. Just a thought. Looking forward to your next one Michael. You and Esme stay safe out there.
Hi Bill - I think you are right - I was hoping the TETON mat might be thick enough to cope but I think -30c might be too much. Maybe a closed cell foam mat underneath might work. I'm working on a small hot tent at the moment - I have a GoLite Hex 3 that i'm thinking of putting a stove jack into - but I hate to modify my favorite tent :/ I also have the bathtub floor (not the bug tent) that would work great. Hope you and Cooper are enjoying the winter!
Exactly. Convection. I was wondering why he didnt seal the bottom of the fly with snow. I'm sure it would help a bit.
Teton has some pretty innovative gear. Thanks for sharing Michael
Hi Mark - It seems to be a rare brand, selling items at reasonable prices with good quality. They are no Hilleberg but I think they offer great value! Looking forward to your next video!
Green is a good idea. Love that you can see the stars on a nice summer night in Michigan.
I know - I hate orange for a tent colour :/. Maybe they will make a nice olive green one day :)
I enjoyed this video. Solidified my intention to purchase the tent and elite rain fly for my cot. I've had it for about 3 days now and slept on it every night and have been on the fence until now. Thanks Bud!
Glad it was helpful! - Its a great system! 👍
Hi Micheal, still enjoying your videos. When I was a younger man I used to put pine boughs on the ground with a couple of pads and made a leanto out of small logs and a tarp. Nowa days it's a wall tent with a cot and stove. Just the cot alone doesn't do it for me, I like room. On to the next video, Cheerio, LOL.
Hi BushratJohn - Yea, I still like to mix it up a bit and swing from different camping styles to keep the channel interesting. I haven't done a tarp camping video for a bit so should probably put that into the schedule 😉 I love the heat from a. wood stove however 😃
Forget about the "Kamp Cot", this looks like it's much better!!! Thanks again, take care, "GOD Bless", sincerely -
HI Randy - I prefer this now as its modular.
Just came across one of your clips...really enjoying them a lot. Like the scenery and the commentary, and Esme. Keep up the good work and greetings from East Tennessee.
Thanks Patrick - thanks for checking out the channel! Best wishes Michael & Esme!
Thanks very much for sharing your adventure.
Anytime Steven! 👍
I really enjoyed this video, good job!
Thanks Dave! I have lots of camping videos to check out also!
Very nice video, I come from Lars' channel and I like your video. You have one more subscriber but you deserve much more :) Good luck on this journey!
Hi Martin - Thanks for the sub! Very much appreciated! Michael & Esme!
Oh man!...way to smooth it in rough conditions...i reckon your pup has it all figured out as well.
My speaking skills suffer in cold weather as well...awesome channel amigo!...woods
Hi Woods - Thanks for commenting - Yea I like this setup for quick camps - I spend less time setting up and more time enjoying the forest. The cold does funny things to you sometimes :) Best wishes Michael & Esme!
would pegging the rain fly stop the cold getting at the underside of the cot ...and or a floor to the tent itself ?
I own the Teton XXL cot and have had it for years. I had no idea that the tent and rain fly were available till your video. Of everything I’ve seen on RUclips, your videos are some of the most enjoyable to watch. Cheers!
Thanks Patrick! I'm glad the video helped with providing some options for your XXL cot. Adding the new Vista1 cot tent (replacement for the XXL Quick Tent) is probably one of the most comfortable camping systems around 👍 - If you are shorter than 6' that is 😄
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors That could be a problem of sorts. I’m 6’7”.
Thank you for sharing!! I miss camping!
Hi Allen - hopefully you might get back into it soon!
I bought the same cot/tent set up last year. That new rain fly looks like just the ticket. The pad getting wet was my only real complaint of the set-up. I too would prefer a subdued color option. Nice vid, nothing like a good pup.
Thanks - Yea - totally agree the orange sucks but it does the job. It's a nice quick setup when weight is not a problem. :)
I'd commented in one of your vids that I'd inquired with them about getting the extended rainfly, and it fell on deaf ears. Well... I finally see they have it on their web-site, so, I ordered one. It just arrived this evening. Looking forward to trying it out.
Good info. Thanks for posting. Sweet dog!
Thanks Pat! 🐶
Its always great to see a Fellow America who has a love for the great out doors.
Hi William - Pretty close, I'm up in Canada :). Your northern cousin!
Well I have worked a lot with different Canadians while I worked over seas -- The Joke works better to say it in person because MOST Canadians get somewhat offended when I insist that they are AMERICAN -- AFTER ALL -- YOU DO LIVE IN **NORTH AMERICA**
If you went to Africa you would call the people there Africans even though they may be from UGANDA or SOUTH SUDAN or KENYA you still -- maybe to friends -- call them Africans.
ANYWHO -- I hope you are not offended to be living in NORTH AMERICA and I mean no offense when I call you an American -- interestingly everyone in the world automatically calls people from the USA AMERICANS but no one else is rather they are from NORTH AMERICA - CENTRAL AMERICA or SOUTH AMERICA -- we are all AMERICANS on this side of the globe ;)
LIKE YOUR VIDS -- LOOKS FUN -- BE SAFE.
Hahhaha - :D Yea we get too wrapped up with where we live or where we are from - I try and live in the moment and enjoy the place I'm in. Could be Canada today or France tomorrow - who knows! Best wishes and glad you enjoy the videos! Regards Michael!
First I love that jacket & second we just used one in the pooring rain & cold. We put a hammock style tarp over it forming a triangle & it worked like a charm.
Plus we closed up one side & place the entrance of the trap near the fire so all that heat drifts in. We place 4 cots that way with the tarp set up around the camp fire so everyone had a warm breeze. Also placed a tarp on the ground & attached it to the over head tarp so we could lay our gear on the ground & not have to worry about it getting wet
Hey SHeepdog1911 - I love the jacket too - its been a favourite for a while! That sounds like such a great setup! I really like the TETON cot and its has worked for me in all 4 seasons!
Like your video, very informitive. You should stake the fly down and pile up snow around the bottom to keep the wind from coming underneath the cot. The snow is a good insulation.
Boyd - you are quite right - I was a little slap dash with the fly on this occasion. It would make a big difference to stop any air movement underneath.
Excellent video. Well presented and edited. That deserves a sub.
Eddie! Thanks! I appreciate the sub! Michael
I like all your videos. I ordered this whole set up. It’s will be at my door in Northern Michigan tomorrow. I’m so excited to add this to my bug out collection. I agree I would rather have it in black or green. I would rather be hard to see from the air when the end of the world comes. LOL
Hi Mary - You will love the setup - especially how quick the tent goes up - makes me smile every time I pop it up with the little string thing. The cot can be a little tight to put the last end arm in to begin with but gets easier. TETON did message me and said they made a recommendation to make a green cover - so we will see :/
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors they now have a green one!
Love this video - I would keep you warm !
LOL - thanks for the offer :D
Just purchased ty for the review
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
Great video. I just ordered the same cot, pad, tent and rainfly along with a cot organizer, under cot storage and a couple of Teton pillows. I live in Virginia so I don't think I'll be experiencing anything nearly as cold as what you slept out in!
Hi Kevin - that will be a great setup!! I find it as comfortable as sleeping in a bed at home. Many times I don't use the fly when the weather is warm.
ive got to hand to your four legged friend never once got out of the warm tent all through the video.thats one smart dog
Indeed she is!! 🐶👸
We spend the winter in South Carolina. I see lots of Canadian license plate here. -32c no wonder. My oldest son likes to camp alone. The Teton cot and tent will make a nice birthday present. Well done
Yes - we call them the snowbirds :) Lots of retired Canadians head south during winter and head north for the summer - I'd love to do that one year and explore the southern states. I'm sure your son would love this setup for UTV or car/truck camping! Thanks for commenting!
You tell me when. We can ride our Pioneer 500's up and down the mountains. That would be fun.
that storage bag might also work well hanging from one of the roll bars inside the Honda cab
LOL - I thought the same thing!
Now that's nice how the fly goes all the way to the ground. Good wind break for the underside too. We all love Esme, she's the best outdoor partner.
Thanks Mustang! I never asked the name of your dog in your avatar picture - he/she looks like a fine companion too!
Oh that's Bambi and she's an American Bulldog. I could gush about her all day, lol. She's 13 now and has slowed down quite a bit but still very much part of our life. I saw Ft. McMurray temps the other day at -31f. That's crazy, and there you are camping in it... 😁
American bulldogs are beautiful and I'm sure she has had quite the charmed life with you :) I couldn't imagine life without a dog. Ft McMurry does get some cool weather but Canadian are so used to the conditions. Back in England 1/2" of snow would bring the country to a standstill. You have to enjoy the winters here or you would be miserable for 6 months of the year. We will have snow on the ground until May :) Best wishes to Bambi from Esme!
Like the cot tent. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. Subscribed. Looks so peaceful.
Thanks Susan - I love winter camping in Canada - the landscape is so different and the tranquility is amazing :)
the dog so sweet!
Thank you - She is called Esme and love the outdoors like me :)
I really like that new rainfly! It has been raining here in Vancouver since January 2nd .... rather sick of it! I'd love some snow to play in! Be well sir!
Hi Richard - at least you don't have to shovel rain :)
Those lighters have been around for decades. I used one for camping when I was a kid. As I recall the fluid does not last long and you have to remember to fill it before going out, or bring more fluid. I did not like the original fly. This new one is a great improvement. Agree with you on other changes they could make.
Yup - that's the problem with the fluid based lighters - they evaporate and you need to remember to re-fill them. The Elite fly does make so much more sense. They should include this version instead of the short one in my opinion.
That's actually a pretty cool tent.
Yup - for the price and what you get its pretty good!
thank you for the great tips!
You are very welcome :)
Stumbled over your channel looking for something ells. Got stuck and really enjoyed your video! Thanks!!
Thank you Marie - I'm glad you found something of interest :) Bästa önskningar från Kanada
Oh thank you!! Hälsningar från Sverige :D
great video. I totally agree with you in relations to the vestible and colors of the fly and tent. I would have bought the whole set in a heartbeat if the tent was darkened and a dark colored fly was available. Thanks again for a great video.
I hope they do make a nice muted colour rainfly - I'm kinda tempted to try and make one myself :)
thanks for the review !
Anytime!
In Australia we have a similar set up made by Jet Bunker, where the stretcher and tent are one unit, basically just take out of the bag and unfold, and extend the built in poles.
Hi Rob, Interesting - strangely I've been looking at Oztents recently. Hmmm. A common similar tent is the Kamp-Rite cot tent. That is also an all-in-one. I actually prefer the modular TETON as I can use all the pieces separately but the Jet Bunker looks very cool and awesome quality.
All your videos are excellent! Dont understand why you dont have more subs...I will highly recommend!
I appreciate that! Thanks Ricky! 👍
Lars from Survival Russia send me over - great video - subbed and looking forward to more adventures with you and Esme ;)
Hi Fritz - I'm glad you came over for a look! I really appreciate what Lar's has done for me and I thank you for your comment!
Another great video! 😀
Thanks Biran!
It's a very nice thing. Thank you for the video. We always follow you
My pleasure Orwa Zo!
I'm happy to have stumbled onto your channel. I'm subscribed and look forward to seeing your other videos.
Hi Devin - I'm glad you found us :) Welcome to the channel!
Enjoyed the video thanks, your dog has the right idea get cosy in the tent lol ya got my sub ATB
Thanks! She's way smarter than me ;). Thanks for the sub! Always appreciated!
I really like that setup. You know you could slide a hot stone of two from the fire under the cot for a good warm sleep. On dry ground of course or it would turn into a sauna. You could also cut a piece of Reflectix to fit between the tent floor and the cot for extra insulation.
Thanks tfcooks. Someone else mentioned the hot rocks also - I will have to try that. Reflectix is my plan on my next cold camp trip with this setup :) Thanks for the tips!
Love the whole Set up. Will be buying one for my son. I would also buy your dog if I could. LOL. Love all for all your videos. Grand Lake in Northern Michigan here next to Lake Huron.
Hi Mary, It's a great setup for camping with a vehicle or UTV - very comfortable. Grand Lake looks beautiful - lots of water to explore! Best wishes from Canada! Michael & Esme
С таким другом не только тепло, но и весело!!! Лайк! Спасибо!!
Абсолютно верно! Wishes Ставки желают из Канады!
I'd say it's a notch up from my Kamprite dbl. cot tent.
Thanx for sharing...
Hi Rudy O - I have the Kamp-Rite Oversize and they work great - I like that his is modular but I hate the color - lol :D
Great video. I preffer them longer, but this was a good one. Nice gear. You seem to be very organised. Also: hi Esme!
Thanks Cosmin - that's great feedback!
A very nice video in a beautiful nature - thumbs up for you :)
Thank you my friend!
New Sub here. Found your channel from Lars at Survival Russia. Checking out your other videos. Really like that leather axe holster you made in another video. - Marty
Hey Marty - thanks for checking out my channel!
Wow, Thanks for showing the new rainfly, that makes the system complete.
No problem Kerry - glad to be of assistance!
I would get s piece if Tyvek or roll of reflective bubble wrap stuff to put under the cot to put shoes , back pack and supplies on etc. And pile snow up around perimeter or stake down rain tarp to keep wind from getting under. Just a few things I was thinking I would do if I were to purchase this tent.
Great idea about vestibule.
Thanks for the video 👍
Hey Bryan - Great ideas - Your right, there is so much potential for under cot storage - I do hope they listen and make a vestibule prototype - happy to test! Best wishes Michael!
Lars sent me, thanks for the video.
Hi Alfredo - I appreciate the comment!
10/10 would die for Esme.
Oh, yeah, & it's a great tent video, too. ;-)
Hahaha 😄 She's a good pup! 🐶
great video again, expect a snowman with you next time!
LOL :D
Nice tent,,but no doubt that it looks cold, in your temp. outdoors it’s impressive, but cozy warm, not in the way of a hot tent - but to each their own. And I’m sure you know,,the dog stoled the show, that’s the true friend of people.
I like to do all kinds of camping hot and cold. I looking forward to the snow to use my Snowtrekker tent again this year! I know, she is the star of my videos :)
good thing about camping in the winter is no bugs
Exactly - maybe cold but at least I'm not eaten alive.
Wonderful!!!
Thank you! :)
Your dog is so cute
Thanks K M! :)
A thought on making this set-up warmer. Some "Reflectix" on the underside of the cot, and on the inside of the lower skirting of the rainfly. That should help things quite a bit.
Yup - That would make the whole thing work much better! Great idea!
Great video I'm definitely going to be looking into getting one but I have the Cabela extreme winter tent right now and it does great in the winter and put them looking for something a little bit smaller
I really like the tent cot for quick overnight camping - simple to setup and with the right sleeping pad and bag you can cold camp without too much issue. Thanks or commenting Chris!
Great video from TEXAS!
Thanks Rick - Best wishes from Canada!
I agree with the vestibule idea . I’m getting the brown and probably green elite fly layer. Green was sold out on amazon.thanks. I now have the whole, kit for atv camping
Thats awesome! The only thing they could improve (apart from the vestibule) is maybe make a lighter weight version of the cot. Instead of a 600lb capacity maybe a 400lb and make it lighter 😄 This is probably one of the most versatile camping system out there and perfect for backcountry mechanized camping! 👍
I agree. I back pack as well. With the regular tent does the moisture come through the bottom or will it wick down and away through the cot material? I will get the elite as well but was wondering. Yes heavy but comfortable.
@@frosty0419 I haven't had any issues with the short fly and moisture but I don't live in a very rainy climate. If you are in a major downpour for several hours/days it might be a problem. The Elite fly would solve the issue and to be honest it should come standard with the tent anyways 🤔 as it can be used rolled up or long.
The Emporium Outdoors thanks. I watch your video and fatally agree that it should come standard. I like your idea of the porch type opening as well. Maybe they are listening? Love your channel. Let the dogs for me. Stay safe friend.
@@frosty0419 Thanks my friend! Maybe they are 😄 Stay safe too! 👍
Two things!! I would peg the legs of the cot tent down in the ground & I would of brought a tarp to put over the cot & Space to sit under out of the snow with your fire. But I love your videos!!
Hi Toni - Yup the tarp is great for having a nice area to hand out. I really hope they make this fly in the future with a vestibule!
A very insightful review of the Elite Rainfly XT; I agree that a drab green or camo material would be better, especially in a survival situation. Maybe I missed it, but I'd appreciate knowing the location of your camp site. I live in the Rockies and surviving while exposed in snowy/freezing weather is important to me. Overall, well done Mate!
Thanks! The location is about 2 hours west of Edmonton, Canada. A few more hours driving and I would be in the rockies :). I can see them from close to my camp on a clear day!
Great setup mate they are some HARDCORE temps you are camping out in i would love to try something like this but haven't got the guts to try it yet got some gear that should handle uk winter temps might give them a test in the back yard this winter first, much respect all the best from the UK 🇬🇧 👍
Thanks Doug - Takes a bit of getting used to. The difference to the UK weather is the humidity - England is very damp which makes the cold even colder. Canada is very dry in winter so the cold doesn't feel as bad. Its fun throwing a cup of hot water in the air and watching it instantly freeze however @ -25c :D - Best wishes from Canada and good luck winter camping!
Thanks for sharing the difference in humidity i didnt know that, all the best mate 👍
Awesome video. An under quilt and one of those reflective under pads would do the trick for cold underneath I'm thinking.
Hi Bill - You are right - a reflective pad or just a closed foam pad would work great - it was just starting to feel cold but not too bad. Pegging the fly down tight and piling snow on the edges would seal the bottom of the tent also, making it much warmer. Thanks for watching!
Great vid
Thanks Dan!
Walmart Ozark Trail sells a regular or double cot tent that is your preferred colors and the sides of the fly can be used with poles as an awning. Opens on both sides, too. Mesh tent can be completely zipped off the cot. Great price for double tent cot $119. I left mine up for a month and it rained repeatedly, (windy, too), and a large box I left inside stayed completely dry! Set up on patio without staking fly, and the velcro did a great job holding the fly on in wind.
Interesting. Luke at the Outdoor Gear Review looked at some Ozark Trail tents and gave them very bad reviews. I'm glad your tent is working out however.
Since I’ve gotten in my 70’s, I’ve slowed down considerably, but I do believe I could handle this system. Since this video was about the extreme fly, I wish you’d have been more demonstrating of the hookup points. Would have been nice to have seen all the attachments hooked up, & explained how they affected the setup, to my advantage. Not very much competition on this product, as far as videos. I already have the products, just like to be properly prepared. Freezing weather is serious. Thanks for the video, & I wish I still had a little camping buddy. Yours shows quite a bit of intelligence.
Hello Hans - I'm glad you are still actively camping in your 70's! I hope to do the same thing and will probably be using a camp cot! This is another video I made that shows the system in more detail. ruclips.net/video/3CMdXujGMLY/видео.html - I have several others on my channel (search for TETON cot). Cold temperatures can be dangerous and fatal if you are not prepared - Esme and I enjoy the winter and have learned our limits and still have fun! Best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦
The Emporium Outdoors thanks for getting right to me, but I expected that from a man that takes his dogs camping ⛺️! Thanks!
Anytime! Auf Wiedersehen!
Great video
Thanks you - best wishes from Canada!
Next time use the grommets on the rain cover to stake it down all the way and pack some snow on the edges, that way you can preserve the warmth in the tent with that added insulation.
Indeed you are correct Antonio!
Really nice video :) You deserve more subs, and I will try and help you out with that. How much does the shelter weighs?
Hi Lars! Thanks - that's a very fine compliment! And any help would be appreciated! The inner tent is 1.68kg (stuff stack, poles and pegs) - The larger Elite Rainfly (shown here) is an additional 0.89kg - but the smaller one that included is only 0.43kg. PS I still want to send you some of my 12 gauge shot shell holders I designed and make for your 1" webbing knife strap you wear! They work awesome - DM me a place I can mail them :) Best wishes Michael
A pretty shitty sub-view ratio. This Emporium channel has been better in my opinion. I hope, you and Survival Russia, together make a positive change!
Thanks Helsinkipop - I'm a big fan of your channel and longtime subscriber :) Your one of the REAL outdoors guys who isn't afraid to rough it a little! I love the British Army Arctic Tent video's - that's a fine piece of gear. Best wishes from Canada - Michael
Lars sent me here :p
Yep Lars sent me here too. ;-)
Nice video sir
Thanks Samar! 👍
wwooowww great video wt dog love it so much♥️
Thank you Jade!
I like your dog. Got it pretty good. Good job. Like the video. Subscribed to your page. Thanks.
Thank you Keith - I appreciate the comment and the subscription!
Brilliant ideas to improve the tent (vestibule and color). I, too, don't understand why most tents are made in such bright colors. Green, sand, desert, and various camo's would be perfect.
I know. Why anyone thought Orange was a good colour I'll never know!
Put the insulation under the cot. Like maybe a foam yoga mat right under the fabric part of the cot.
Plus tieing down the tent to the ground and covering up the gaps with snow will help too.
Thanks, I have a cot too and been looking for a tent for it.
Hi Heather - You are right - I do need a foam pad along with the other mat I used to increase the insulation. Also staking down the tent would have helped also. Thanks for the comment - I appreciate the feed back!
That rain fly would work better with the cot. I agree a vestibule would be a great improvement. Maybe that's in a recent video I haven't watched yet.
Unfortunately no vestibule yet - still working on the idea 👍
The dog approves. I'm sold.
Hi Tony - I love this setup. I have all the links to the equipment in my Amazon store:- www.amazon.com/shop/theemporiumoutdoors - hope that helps.
I much more prefer this bright orange fly cover on the tents, as your not going to get Accidentally shot while camping in the Wilderness 👍👍👍
Each to their own 😉 i Prefer to blend in!
great video...
Thanks my friend!
Great video👍🏻
Maybe, put a tini-tiny little stove under your tent. Should be cozy.
Alex - that might be a little dangerous - but thanks for the idea!

Hi Lepere Joe - thanks for taking a look at my channel!
With a drink holder on the outside and temps expected to be -30C, I hope you like iced beverages.
