I can’t ever hear “What, if any…?” Without cringing and thinking about Elaine.
same. legit same.
omggg same lol lally was elaine all day today
Saaaame. Every time he said it, I pictured Bredehoft. it's a reflex by now
We're all traumatized. 😅
Might be time for a class action suit - I remain unwell.
For those in the chat saying they don't like the commentary: I can't watch WITHOUT the commentary!! WTF? Go somewhere else!!
👍👍
Yes, it always gets me that people tune into a commentary channel and are then surprised that they get commentary. Great that you want to learn about the case, maybe do a second of research regarding the channel that you are watching it through.
Agree too, last trial where EDB had to miss a couple of times and I had trouble staying focused without Emily explaining it.
I needed EDB to get through that prosecution opening statement.
Exactly
They'll figure out we're not the place they want to be and swiftly move TF along.
Their fights were about Karen "spoiling kIds" who had lost BOTH parents????
Spoiling then nice person Now they turn the kids against her..poor kids
Clearly it's the taking orphans for doughnuts that really makes her the Disney villain, it's her origin story /s
Tbf, though, they also argued about her boyfriend not treating her right and/or cheating on her. Which like sounds messy, just not the kind of messy that usually ends up with a dead body. People break up, they had even broken up previously, it's gonna take a lot to convince me she wouldn't just walk away like she had before.
Sadly, bad things occurring in one’s life doesn’t mean the rest of their life becomes easy mode.
He’s still trying to raise quality people in a home with limitations.
@@mikemck4796 If taking the kids to get doughnuts is the difference between raising "quality" people and raising complete degenerates, I'm glad my parents raised me to be a degenerate, the doughnuts were worth it.
Also, I have so many questions about your moral compass.
@@Alemaniaturquiawe don’t know yet.
I was in a BAD car accident as a teenager. I was the passenger. We were sober, no cell phones. It was not our fault. I looked over and saw the driver, who was my best friend, leaned over passed out and bleeding. She had to be airlifted out. I spent the ENTIRE time in shock screaming "OMG! IS SHE DEAD?! THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!!! WHAT IF I KILLED HER?!?!" I was in severe emotional shock (and very neurospicy) and because I had asked her to drive me home, survivors guilt made me blame myself. I was only 16 mind you, but with them all being drunk, it seems logical she could have been in shock.
Who would ever think you drop someone off at a party, he doesn't come home, you go looking and find him out in the yard dead? She had to be shocked.
I can definitely see her being in shock and going through all the possible scenarios for what happened, as incriminating as it may sound.
Yep! I had an accident when I was 20 where I hit my head super hard on the seat in front of me. I tried to walk home and the police found me waaaaaaay down the road, got me into a warm cruiser(it was January and I was also wet from the ditch the car fell into) where I kept repeating it was my fault somehow even though I was in the backseat not paying attention to the front of the car. You do say weird stuff when you hit your head. I’m also ADHD and ASD. That could have impacted my neurospicyness, too. No one else was hurt, but me. I broke my nose, needed stitches on my lips, herniated another disc, and had a concussion. It was 1999 and many people didn’t wear seatbelts in the back seat. Boy, did I learn my lesson!! I became an EMT after that and learned exactly how silly it was not to wear a seat belt. 😂
@@blastypowpow I was actually wearing one for the first time because my parents never made me, but my friend made it a rule. Thank god!!! It saved BOTH our lives, but especially hers!
I can ABSOLUTELY see her saying that kind of stuff out of panic, and like you called it, survivors guilt. I’ve seen multiple times when it LOOKS like someone is dead and their loved ones are screaming out that they’re dead when everyone else is trying to calm them down saying that they’re being worked on. It’s almost like the loved one is trying to prepare themselves for the news and don’t want unnecessary hope type thing
I interpret her stating it was her fault to mean that she left him there, that she dropped him off, that she didn't stay with him.
Yeah or that she thought she may have accidentally hurt him because what else could have possibly happened. This whole things is shady and dumb.
Agree. Not "admitting guilt." If I left a loved one somewhere where they got murdered, I would absolutely say the same thing this is my fault. It's called survivor's guilt
The first officer on scene says he observed 6 inches of snow, but only a dusting on the victim??? That doesn't equate to being there all nite!
I think the Commonwealths answer is that Karen uncovered the body on arrival, and that he was covered and only she knew where he was because she hit him.
And if you look at the prosecutions videos of the driveway there wasn’t a lot of snow yet. That storm got worse throughout the afternoon of the 29th
“What if any” are the chances any of the jurors watched the Depp/Heard trial and are as traumatized as we are at all the “what if any’s”?!?! 😂😂😂
😂👍
Elllllaaaaiiiiinnnneee
6 foot tall and 200 lbs covered in ankle deep snow. I totally see why a party of police would miss that body... insert sarcasm font.
That's what I wanted to say. When I hear snow blizard, I was imagining a lot more snow, that maybe could cover the person
Ooh where do I download the Sarcasm Font! 😂
So well said!!
Replay crew here. Married to a now retired police officer, there is no way in heck he would have stayed inside the house if all that was going on outside in our front yard! He would at least go out to see why the emergency vehicles were there and if he was needed for anything. Especially in our own yard!
I find it really strange the house occupants didn’t at least open the door to ascertain what was up.
Defendant looked and sounded distressed in that police scene video. I didn’t find it strange or inappropriate, people react in so many different ways to these sorts of situations. It’s up to the lawyers to argue whether she was or wasn’t sincere.
Exactly, I'm outside! I'm trying to figure out what's going on. I hear yelling I'm looking out the window. If I hear yelling and see emergency response I'm outside and I'm trying to ask "all good? What's up??"
@@LykaFoxbriar Exactly! And on the other hand, if the occupants were staying inside, did any of the police responders actually go up and knock on the door to see if they were, at least, ok?
@@wendywilkinson That and "do you all have any property cameras so we can see what may have happened" where was CSI?? why did no one preserve the scene?? I know he wasn't legally pronounced dead but it just feels off
The homeowner a Boston police officer and a atf agent went to a funeral on 1/28 for a New York police officer that was killed. They came home went to bar and drank. Wakes up to a fellow Boston officer dead on his lawn and doesn’t have the decency to come out of his home.
So the people who owned the house knew the victim and the three outside and didn't come out while the police and fire department where outside while a woman was hysterical? Then they saying she reversed to run him over outside a house she knew was full of cops? This case is laughable.
See i think thats odd too even if i didn’t know the victim i feel like id want to know why ems was in my yard
@@tinykitsune0387 especially being a police officer with at least 2 cars with lights going outside your house. Unless they where asleep because they where all pissed the night before?
@@tinykitsune0387 Right? Like if something is going down on my property, I'd wanna know if only for legal purposes and not moral/ethical. IDK about MA but isn't it possible to be sued or something if a person is injured or worse on your property???
He was not found by the driveway either, which seems odd if you are running over someone while leaving etc.
Um true
All of this commotion in their front yard and they didn't bother coming out the front door, not once!?!?
That seems SUPER SUSPICIOUS to me too. 😡
They would have known it was a crime scene as specially since they were in law enforcement. So it would not have been appreciated for them all to go trampling through the snow.
@@tigerlilygirl2643 there's more than one way to get down to the crime scene they could have even came out on their front porch which wouldn't have consisted of trampling through the crime scene.
Its possible that karens demeanor where she was hysterical, and telling Erin that they would probably never see her again could be due to her feeling responsible for leaving john at the house party and that ended up leading to his death. Remember she left dozens of angry messages on his voicemail after she allegedly "murdered" him. First of all if you killed someone why would you do that ? Furthermore i know someone who lost his sister in a hit and run and he felt responsible for her death only because he got into a terrible argument with her before she was mowed down by a speeding car.
Exactly right. This trial is a circus and the real murderers McAlberts need to be prosecuted
My husband's first reaction to Karen's statement about "I may never see you guys again" was that she was su*c*dal. But he works with patients who are, so maybe it's just where his mind goes?
Or just how she processes grief? Kinda more in a "I may never [be able to handle] see[ing] you guys again". I guess we'll have to see if there's more context to that.
Idk if I could be around my murdered boyfriend's family and never not be sad again, especially if they think I was involved with/blame me for his death. These are all people she met through him, regardless of the relationships she personally developed with them, I think it's a lot to ask for her to immediately separate him from the people she met through him.
Not to mention like the "I blew her a kiss while she was clearly distraught and begging for info" seemed weirdly passive aggressive in this morning's testimony. They had a chance to comfort her and support her and get her side of the story, instead they sent a pretty clear message they were closing ranks and she was not one of them. The wife this afternoon less so, but it was still a real odd moment ngl.
I could totally see it as "I can't handle seeing you guys again" or even "I let you guys down/him down/the family down and no one will want to see me again"
My dad passed away last fall and my mom told me she thought she'll never see or hear from my half brother (on my dad's side, who was an adult out of the house when my parents met and not particularly close with my mom) again after the funeral. She's silly and we both have heard from him and his wife but because of that experience, my first thought was that Karen may have said that because she wasn't married into the family she might have thought they'd just drop her. Even if she was married in, that still happens sometimes with in-laws when a spouse passes.
Yeah I figured it's they weren't married etc
Yeah, or she’s got some kind of melancholy ideation. Maybe she’s so torn up she’s thinking of just leaving town and never coming back to get away from it all.
Start over fresh. I’ve heard of people up and leaving town/state for much less traumatic things.
Or maybe she’s worried about losing the family too as she was only the gf, not the wife, and she’s fishing for reassurance.
Theres so many interpretations and honestly although it COULD fit guilt at m@rder/m@nsl@ghter, that really isn’t the first or most likely thing it could indicate.
The Defense nailed opening, I felt it was like watching a MasterClass!!! Cant wait for cross examine tomorrow!!
I’m gonna need Mark Strong to play the defense attorney in a movie.
Karen Reed so far seems like a really nice person, jumping in to help take care of kids.
Those opening statements were like night and day! Defense had me on the edge of my seat like, “omg then what??” And the prosecution was confusing and strangely boring.
I’m a stepmom to two boys. I’m great friends with the boys’ mom, my husband’s ex-wife. I still have a fear that if my husband passes away I’ll lose all of them, my entire family. I do not read much into Karen saying “I’ll probably never see you again.” I think I may have that response out of fear too, in a time where I’d need them so much. It’s always in my mind whether I am important to them or if I’m just around because of my relationship with my husband is always there!
So get it. I don’t have family other than my husband’s. And she was just the girlfriend of a few years 💜
Absolutely I totally get her response and your view is perfectly appropro
Wow objecting to Karen taking girl to Dunkin Donuts makes O'Keefe sound like a control freak and Karen like a kind person WTF???
Yeahhhh that was odd. She also worked from her new bf’s house to help homeschool his kids during Covid - that’s an incredibly selfless thing to volunteer for! Karen sounds like a good human so far. I need more details on these disputes and others in their relationship if the prosecutor is going to convince me she had it in her to kill him. I have questions! And I doubt I’m going to get all the answers to those questions during this trial…
@@OpportunisticOmnivore didn't know that but completly agree.
@@OpportunisticOmnivore I mean I don't wanna make blanket statements, but high-stress jobs like law enforcement leave people more prone to things like violent outbursts and anger management issues, statistically speaking. If you asked me point blank whether it's more likely a group of drunk law enforcement guys snapped or a normal person snapped, it's gonna be the cops at least 99% of the time man.
Add on to it the normal person is someone who's being vilified for _checks notes_ taking orphans to get doughnuts, and like what even is the state's goal here?
@theBestElliephant at first I thought the same thing. I wonder if it had more to do with spoiling them ( in his eyes) . Maybe he didn't make as much and didn't want them to get used to that,? Men have such odd ideas sometimes.
This prosecutor is TERRIBLE at questioning. At this rate it's going to be a very long trial. UUUGGGGHHHH
Totally agree. Some of the questions didn't make sense and poor Paul's answers were non responsive due to the poor question.
@@Convictions99 no kidding. I felt bad for Paul. I had trouble following this lawyer. He was all over the place for starters, then his questions were confusing and sometimes there were 2 questions in one. It was awful. I also feel really bad for the jury. How do they make sense of all that. His opening statement was even worse in my opinion. I’m a court clerk so I’ve listened to many. He’s right up there with the worst of them.
It literally feels like this prosecutor took all his tips from Elaine...
Yeah I will say that as someone who lives on a busy road, when a cop car comes by and stops outside our house, EVERYONE comes outside - from every house. Doesn’t matter what time of night. Three a.m. and everyone in a ten house radius is outside to see what’s going on.
Our village sends out a fire engine and squad car with every ambulance call. It’s hard to miss if you’re awake. I could see maybe if you were soundly asleep with music or a Tv turned up loud, you might not realize? But a dog would notice and most would be barking at the commotion. When our German Shepherds bark, it will wake you!
I find it VERY unusual that no one from the house came out to see what was going on. Especially first responders.
@@dogsratsfishcatsone major reason i find it weird that no one in the house noticed is because when it’s snowing it’s SO silent outside that anything passing by is noticeable. But then again if they were drinking maybe they’d passed out?
That's an "I can still find my golf ball" amount of snow. Not even boots weather.
A human would be seen in that level of snow.
Especially a big human.
Hi, everyone,
Boston transplant here, (now in El Segundo, CA), and this sounds so much like "back home." I've been in courthouses like these, they're like those from The Scarlet Letter.
It sounds as though the Alberts are the Murdaughs of Canton, MA.
Thank you for all you do, Emily, it's an honor to be on the jury with you and the Law Nerds!
💜💜
Same, brings back so many memories, live in ill now
I can’t imagine having to hear my personal conversations with a friend.
How many times have a lot of us talked crap about our significant others with our friends!
Living in Massachusetts, this is NOT blizzard conditions yet! This is a dusting that hasn't been cleaned up or sand/salted!
Correct from your neighbor in CT. Life doesn't *stop* with snow like this lol
Is salting before a storm not a thing yall do? Do you even snow bruh if you're tryna salt after it's already snowed lol?
We salt before a storm but if it's in the middle of the night or depending what town they don't start til morning .Plus if it's a low snow season the roads aren't already coated from the past few months
Blizzard? My guy. This is Massachusetts. That’s little more than a dusting. Although I’m sure wcvb had us all believe it was going to be a snow-pocalyse. I honestly don’t remember.
Depending on what part of town in Massachusetts, we got a lot of snow. And winds. Boston less
Karen Read's "I'll probably never see you again" statement makes sense to me, but not at all how the prosecution wants me to take it! I think she assumed that she'd remind the O'Keefe family too much of John, and that it'd be too painful for them to see her, so they'd ghost her. That's probably exactly what would have happened, too, even if there'd been no fingers pointed at her.
Yeah, if my sister died tragically I don't know if I'd want to still see her bf
I can understand someone saying I won’t probably see you again because you can be close but once someone passes they don’t want to know you anymore. She may have been through something like this before. This is why I don’t thinks it’s odd.
She's yelling, "Is he dead, over and over and still no one from the house came out?
So the people in the house didn't go out or look to see what was happening. A body is in their front garden. Did someone contact them to stay inside and keep a low profile? It's human nature to have a look at what is going on. If emergency services were in my garden, I'd be looking and asking questions. It's very odd all around.
If authorities found a dead body in a yard in Texas they are 4 Sure questioning every person in the house and every house in the neighborhood would have been canvassed for witnesses and security cameras!
Police and ambulances arrived with no sirens. If I'm asleep and they roll up with no sirens, I'm not waking up at 6 am to go have a look see.
The what if anything is driving me nuts...reminds me of Elaine in the Depp/Heard case...
Yep karen reminds me of amber 2.0
I live in NY & based on how they’re walking in it, can’t be more than 4 inches of snow - tough visibility if it all came in a short period of time, but not enough to cover up a body IMO
Yes this is not 6”…sorry in just getting up to speed, trying to get it all in before a verdict
There is no way that the homeowners can explain why they never went outside with all of that activity occurring ON THEIR LAWN!
It has also been established that no neighbors came outside with all that activity. Anyway the neighbors can explain it?
If I was just a neighbor who wasn't in law enforcement and didn't have EMT training and it was cold/snowy out I must likely wouldn't have come out of my house but would've been peeping out through the windows looking to see what was going on.
But if it was all happening on my front yard - yes I'd be out there, regardless of the weather, to see what's going on!
Being that the homeowner is a first responder and it's his front yard he should've definitely came outside!
@@sarafoss4890 So you'd just look out the window, not offer some blankets? All well and good, however the neighbors are also in law enforcement, also trained first responders, yet never came outside. So it's possible that without sirens, people remained asleep. Unless the neighbors are all in on a cover up.
@@kerrygold6494 No I most likely wouldn't offer blankets if I saw there were already police & EMTs on the scene. But I would expect law enforcement to go canvas the neighborhood and ask the neighbors if they saw anything - which was never done in this case.
Blood freezes. If the CW's theory is he was in the snow at 12:30 am there is no way Karen had "wet" blood on her face giving CPR 5 hours later. They need to throw in the white towel.
CPR can push blood out of the lungs if it's done properly
@@platedlizard if he was in the snow from around midnight to around 4-5 when his body was found, his blood would be frozen, including the lungs as there would be no warmth or pressure in the lungs seeing as he's dead
Is that a fact at issue? Unless he was literally frozen solid (which would take a long time depending on a lot of factors), I don't see any reason to believe there couldn't be liquid at the core of the body.
@@THEDubbleHelixx the issue is time of death. If he died at around when he was dropped off, based on the 2:40 google search he'd be in the cold blizzard for about 4-5 hours. If he was beaten up but alive and dumped then blood could still be a liquid. Time here matters, it creates more circumstancial evidence
@@2centswanted113 That's what I'm thinking. Even assuming he was dead (no longer producing body heat) at midnight when he was left in the cold, his body temp would have to drop more than 5 degrees an hour to reach freezing, which is 5 times faster than a body loses heat at room temperature. And that's under the assumption that it started freezing immediately, which we know wasn't the case, since he died of hypothermia.
I'm looking through the video now, but didn't someone at some point say his temp was 8 degrees at the hospital? Since the low for that night was around 15F**, that had to be 8C, which is around 40F. I don't believe the body was ever frozen solid.
** Correction, the low was around 30F that night.
This is ridiculous. What does this prove.
I’m from Massachusetts. This snow is not that bad, believe it or not.. here is the tip..park at the end of the driveway so you don’t have to shovel the whole driveway. The sun will eventually come out and melt the snow.
I get the "I'm never gonna see you guys again" in a panic. I've said or thought things like that at hard times. I think she easily could have just had a big, sudden fear about losing her "family" and her "kids."
"Whiskey in a teacup" sounds like a good song title.
I feel like the body heat would have melted a thin layer of fresh snow, explaining the grass. Just a thought that could explain timing and grass.
Excellent point. There’s so much I don’t know about this case but so far I feel confused and like the state has a lot of pieces that are not fitting. It’ll be interesting to see how things will change over time with this.
I feel like there hasn't been enough description of what was done when the victim was first found. You can remove alot of snow in the process of attempting CPR and could compress snow under the body. I feel like my first instinct would be to drag him into one of the cars to warm him up, however maybe they could see blood and were worried he had a broken back and were scared to move him?
Exactly my thoughts!
I’ve been thinking about this more. In MI wind almost always comes with snow here. What if wind just dusted him with snow? That seems very plausible to me. If there was wind that day I’d probably bring that up if I was her lawyer.
I lived in MA for 20+ years, and a full six inches of snow would have definitely “covered” him. But it would have taken time for it to build up and drift and settle. Also, it depends how frozen the ground already was from any cold snaps (not necessarily snow bc we would get a really bad cold snap for 5-10 days in Jan and Feb usually-not really December-that actually froze the ground). So his initial normal body heat would be enough to melt snow (I don’t know how much) underneath him.
It’s wild to me that in today’s day and age there can be this much ambiguity in a crime that happened out in the open.
Ambiguity according to who?
She's innocent
What blows my mind if how the people saying there’s not enough to charge Karen Read are the ones stating blatantly that others did it and have zero evidence or at least WAY less than KR has
@lanadelgay132 um how?
What good evidence does the state have? All they have is that they argued sometimes
@@Lc0522 witnesses stating KR said she hit him. JO’s DNA/hair on the tail of her vehicle. Glass from his drinking glass on the tail of her vehicle. Micro pieces of twilight plastic in his clothing…. That’s a fair bit in my opinion.
@@lanadelgay132 Considering the FBI investigations going on into how this case was looked into....I think that's a pretty good start towards evidence in showing there's at least a possibility something or someone else killed the victim here. And from what I've seen so far, I haven't really seen any concrete evidence from the State to prove KR's guilty. It's early on but KR is innocent until proven guilty.
Still the ring video shows not enough snow to cover a body (12+ hours after). They did get 30 inches over the three days.
Not 6" on the ground. Look it up on the weather archives. Says 1.5" of snow not 6" at 6 AM.
Look at the Car video at 5AM less than 1 inch.
If somebody clears snow off someone it doesn't look then like there's a dust on someone. When something is dusted it's undisturbed. You could tell if snow was brushed off easily
Has anyone thought to ask why, if Karen hit John on purpose to kill him, her first reaction was panicked out-loud questioning “omg did I hit him?”
If nothing else that, to me, says clearly that IF she did it, it absolutely wasn’t intentional.
Yeah I'm leaning toward accidental just from the way she's freaking out
I kinda agree, I feel like its a normal reaction to feel guilty even if you are not guilty. Did I hurt an animal? No, but every Sarah McLachlan commercial for SPCA makes me feel like I'm the most guiltiest of guilty. I think its more an empathy reaction than it is a guilty reaction.
@@Lukkaboc well and like, she dropped him off there. So I could even see feeling guilty about that part. But I guess we will see.
Yeah, even if she is responsible for his death that’d point more towards an accidental killing and a manslaughter charge not murder…
But then again, maybe that’s what the prosecution are asking for. I wouldn’t know because the only thing I could make out from the opening statement is that tail lights are important and some dude called Brian is involved
I've been leaning the same way, but at the same time some people are good actors, but we'll see.
To me, Erin O'keefe's testimony about Karen Read telling her "John's dead" isn't that significant. Karen had just been giving John CPR - she knew how bad his condition was; combined with her being visibly distraught in the police dash cam video, it makes sense to me.
😂 EDB: “This would be state shut down level snow in TN.”
Us in MI with that amount of snow: “It’s not snowing. That’s hardly a dusting.” 😂
I hate the snow and can’t wait to move to TN.
I live in NE Ohio right at the bottom of the snow belt and what was in my mind’s eye when they said “a bad snowstorm” was a lot different than what it actually was
Same 😂
@missliss2581able I'm in NY on the Canadian border. This was nothing. Agree with you wholeheartedly.
That much snow shuts down Northern KY also. Trust me it's frustrating when a place is shut down over 3inches of snow. 😂 I came from western SD when I lived in NKY. It was very annoying.
We are considering MO or TN to move to.
The day it snows. Hard was windy. Look at the news the day of the storm What made it worse was the wind blowing..I live 7 minutes away and we lost power
Looooooove a car chat. There is a natural end to the call, when I arrive where I’m driving. It’s my fave phone call
Why are we asking the exact same questions? I don't understand the building of this case, state has lost me today, totally lost
The defence claimed she CRACKED her tail light when she hit John’s car in the drive not that she broke or smashed the tail light.
Not making up my mind until i hear the evidence. Most interested in the broken tail light details.
I live near Boston. You have to say "wicked Dahk."
In Canada, this amount of snow melts by the afternoon. State/province closing is halfway up the tires, like 2 feet.
I'm in Maine and now I need to know how big your tires are 😂
But I agree, it takes quite a lot for us to shut down as well
I’m used to SUV tires. 🛞.
Emily great to be in court with you again, I am from Boston so know what the court is like.
If it was Prior (Chad Baybells lawyer) he would have badgered the brother and sister in law on cross! 🤦🏽♀️ He’s awful.
Respect for the defence attorney here for not cross examining the victims family!
If she hit him with the back of her car in the middle of the lawn, wouldn't there be tire impressions? Were there other cars in the driveway at the time? How did she get around those to hit him and then get out without leaving tire marks everywhere?
We both have Questions 💜
The judge looks so much like Ramona Singer to me and I can’t unsee it
Haaa
So sometimes, I'll have these trials on whilst I'm doing other things (work or searching for stuff I don't need but looks cool on FBM). I know I must switch back immediately when I hear Emily's voice sounding annoyed and/or the screaming whatever that is (goat?). This just happened at 1:25:27 and while I'm cracking up, I'm hurriedly clicking back. This is why I only watch/listen to these trials on your stream, Emily. You bring me such joy! Thank you!
The state’s attorney sounds like it’s his first trial.
It is so weird with my birthday being Jan 29 and I remember exactly what I was doing this day. Sometimes it is hard for my brain to wrap around the fact that what was a great day for me, someone else's life ended.
Oh, hey birthday „twin“! 🤭
Are you also a 90s baby ? 🤪 - Me being noisy if our birth years are close as well, without wanting to be too obvious 😅…
True…it’s a bit surreal to think that while we were celebrating a new year of our lives someone else’s ended so horribly …
I am a 90s baby! We could literally be birthday twins. Also in my graduating class there was 2 other people with the same birthday. So I'm used to sharing my birthday.
Idk if it is part of my Nero spiciness, but there are times I have to literally stop and remind myself that people have different experiences and backgrounds. With the case occuring on a day I have distinct memory of, makes it extra jarring to realize while I was celebrating John died.
I live in England and when 1 snow flake lands the country shuts down and the news acts as tho it's the start of WW3. When we get 1 inch of snow it becomes a national emergency.
Well said from fellow English women! 🇬🇧
Leaves on the track 🤣 (fellow UK bod here).
Here in the Boston, this is no big deal. People actually go out shopping..lol (as soon as they shovel out). Snow sucked except if you are a kid
I’m in Yorkshire and it’s not quite the same here. It slows things down but as long as you can get to the main road things carry on! Obviously there are the extremes, but they don’t happen often!
This is 100% accurate.
If John's family believes Katen did this, you've gotta wonder what they think about the prosecutor's abilities after that opening and the brother's examination. I would have concerns! 😳
Yes! I this is the tragic thing. Would the poor prosecution be enough to introduce doubts?! If they believe she did it…
"What, if anything..." Holy cow, find a new way to ask a question!
I’m not understanding the reasoning for some of the repetitive questions from the prosecution to Erin O’Keefe after asking the same of her husband John’s brother Paul… it seems unfair to the O’Keefe family as a whole.
Did anyone count the "what if any's" this attorney said today? Oh Elaine!!!
So the reason why these photos are bad is because he took digital photos in snow. Digital just does not handle snow well. An old fashioned film camera can handle that kind of scene much better.
Lol! As if the country is going to train up a slew of meatheads in photography. 😂
That's not a lot of snow, but if you aren't used to it, it is
There was a moment during the dash cam footage where I heard a cat meowing. I was really confused if it was in the dash cam or coming from EDB, before I realized it was my cat meowing.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Coming back thru to hear with more experienced ears... Mind blowing.
three wowen standing around in near blizzard conditions and the victim had a light dusting...What?
🤔🤔
They went to the same law school as Elaine! - - what , if any.... ahhhh the memories of Depp/Heard!
I like her commenting and explaining to us. She is very smart. And entertaining...reason I will watch here. I'm not in school I want to be an FBI AGENT. My mom says no. I say pick 🚀 NASA OR the FBI. I like true crime because my Father is a cop and my aunt is a Detective in San Juan Puerto Rico. Karen is innocent. My aunt agrees 👍
Do what makes you happy. That’s what my mom always told me and I didn’t because I wanted to please my dad and I wish so much I had listened to her. If your job makes you happy then it’s not work, is her belief.
FBI agents are critical to protecting Americans. I think that is an amazing aspiration. It will take dedication and effort but, Please Please follow your dreams as far as you can. Nobody else can tell you what your purpose is. If you are “called” to be in the FBI nobody should try to make you choose another career. Don’t please your parents at your expense. They should support your dreams whether it’s what they would choose for you or not 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@@Princelover-ip4gn thanks I will 🙏 FBI is what I want . thanks you for those words. I'm showing my mom . Positive. hugs
Why do I get the feeling listening to this that the O'Keefes don't think she did it?
Replay crew… this is why I don’t have friends. 😆
I love the judge's voice and delivery! She's soothing to listen to.
Careful doing that they can freeze and when you drop the wipers they can snap right off, best to just put cardboard btwn the windshield and the wiper
As I’m watching this- when EDB spills her coffee, it’s so relatable and it made me realize I’m also in a black vneck, and wearing my Facts hat 😊
I am one with EDB 💜
I think someone mentioned that Karen was saying things about killing herself. I wonder if that is why she said "I probably won't see you again". Also, it does seem that she was under the impression that she did run over him without realizing it. It is very possible that she assumed the family would hate her and want nothing to do with her after that. I think it could be possible that the women she was in the car with were the ones who put the idea in her head that she hit him.
I need to know where this doggo is! I worry she was stored in the deep freezer until the spring thaw. Otherwise, it shouldn't be impossible to track Chloe down.
Stands to reason she brushed snow off of him prior to doing CPR

Ooof never some to Canada in the winter, that’s still sneaker weather.
Of course first day of trial I have a doc appointment in the morning then watched an hour ish of morning stream before having to go to Pilates and Trader Joe’s. Just finished the morning stream and had a factor meal for dinner so I’m sipping on the best homemade margaritas while I catch up on the afternoon stream! Replay crew for the win! 💜💜
Are you an influencer?! 🤔
I love you Emily. Thank you so very much for covering this very very important case.
So, for Karen to assume that he passed and that the family was going to boot her, it might be that she thought/knew they didn't like her or was a negative person in general. I don't think she did it, but I'm still waiting to decide because everything is pretty iffy
Emily.. love your puzzle picture analogy. Very good & totally agree.
The CW questions flooding with details that are irrelevant to just confuse jury cuz they have no case.
Emily you are so right😂 I’m going to get so much done while listening to you during trail. 💜
Love you 🥰 You are the only channel I enjoy watching. You RULE!!!!!
Mostly replay crew! ❤
What’s wrong with spoiling kinds that have gone thru hell
Getting Dunkin makes kid entitled?@omg5092
I'm looking forward to the schedule for this trial with half days in between on T/Th, I think it'll be much more manageable for EDB and us. I could not keep up with Hannah's trial live and do much of my watching during dinner making and evening during games or crafts. Might spoil me for future trials!
Emily, I love hearing them say she lived in Mansfield Massachusetts..That's my home venue for DMB the past 20 years!! Wahooo. June 12th can't come soon enough
I love your commentary!!😃❤️
EDB asked so I wanted to state Proctor and Jen McCabe convinced the family Karen did it, issued no contact as part of bail, and have been comforting the family since.
Hi Emily...you are so my cup of tea. Your channel reminds me of one time I was at a prime and proper company Christmas party. It was such a snore fest. We were seated at the back near the kitchen. All I could hear was something that sounded like a party coming from the kitchen. I kept saying if something doesnt happen within my next few drinks I am going in the kitchen. Your channel is the kitchen for me. Never bored... love your videos❤
25:07 I’m Confused, she was being restrained at the hospital by staff and was taken by ambulance there but she came 40ish mins later and picked up her stuff? She was so close with the kids she didn’t want to stay and make sure they were comfortable? What if anyone else has questions?!
Does seem odd, but grief makes you do odd things. Also if she coudlnt handle it maybe she didn’t want to make it worse for the kids? I just go quiet and want to be alone. Being around the victims parents & the kids would be traumatic given they’d already lost so much. She’s also not blood related like the rest there were.
She also has chrones and colitis and has had many many operations for it. I imagine she’d be needing rest & looking after by family. I don’t know if they would introduce this.
She also had just gone into her and John's bedroom. Maybe she didn't want to break down in front of the children.
Currently, I think she did that because she was in shock and her connection to the family had just died. She wasn't even married to him, and "blood family" can be really weird to people they see as outside of the family when someone dies. My aunt was practically married to her bf when he had a stroke and died. She was super close with the kids and nieces but the moment he passed his kids essentially cut her out. It was very heartbreaking for her because not only did she lose him but his family too. So I'm not surprised if Karen felt isolated, in shock, and totally confused too.
Catching up with this trial - thanks for breaking it down EDB
The what if any is driving me nuts
All I can think about is the kids. They've lost so much and endured so much trauma at such a young age. My heart breaks for them.
I wonder what happened at the hospital. Why didn't the family didn't have her in the chapel room with them if she was truly that close? From what we know so far, it seems like something is missing.
Cops must make amazing salaries up there.
At present she sounds like a normal triggered grieving desperate person, trying to figure out what is happening
