As a Lucid Air GT & Tesla owner I can say with absolute certainty that Lucid Air is the best EV currently in production. Range is still king and with 500+ miles nothing comes close. It’s the total package. Beauty, range, speed, storage, comfort, luxury, quality, efficiency, and in my personal experience with over 50k+ miles driven, very durable. The Porsche is nice but the Lucid is on another level. Cheers!
@@unknownember7889 YT threatened to delete my acct for posting about other vids so just see that name I said and his Air GT range test. Steady 70mph full to empty. Not realistic, but does every car the same for comparison
Just to let you know. When you are doing Electric car comparison. You should include battery size range and efficiency. Also the price. The difference between the 4s and the Touring is pretty much around 20k+ . I am both a Lucid and Porsche fan but Lucid drive train is leaps ahead of Porsche especially in efficiency. Indeed the brakes of Lucid isnt up to par as a Sports car but the Sapphire did have the Ceramic brakes since nobody will track a GT Touring and pure anyway.
Owner of ‘24 Lucid Air Touring, 94 RX7, ‘23 Tesla 3, ‘21 Tesla Y Performance… Previously BMW X5, 325 Ci, 335 GT, 330E … The Lucid Air is an amazing car. Far superior to the Teslas IMO. The video driver doesn’t seem to actually performance drive so surprising the pick for the Porsche. Further, the LUCID is far superior to all of the recent BMWs I have owned/driven. It is more akin to an older M5 in terms of handling - it wants to be pushed through corners just as my X5 with the MSport suspension years ago… except with insane power. The lucid steering and balance is incredible and I find myself severely pushing through corners with lots of tire noise and pleasant drifts (turn traction control off to get real ones lol). The Teslas handle like Hondas IMO and are point and shoot, but at the limit they scare the crap out of me and the suspensions feel completely skitzo at the edge of traction. I have owned the RX7 since new and have spent many many days on tracks here in California learning how to drive it and drive in general. The older BMWs were drivers cars … not so much of the recent ones which are number and sloppier drive trains… the 330e was actually the most fun and responsive of my recent BMWs… anyway the LUCID has far exceeded my expectations. I note that driving from San Jose to Sacramento and back in a mix of Friday rush hour and Saturday morning was completeled easily without a charge on an actual implied range of over 390 miles… the Tesla Y’s range in similar conditions is more like 230 miles. This is a huge difference. Insane power (the lucid noticeably faster than the Y perf). Far far far superior range along with greater efficiency (4.2 MPKWH vs 3.1 MPKWH in real world)… And handling is much more akin to MSport 5 series… I’m now a LUCID fan hardcore.
FYI....the vanity mirrors have a magnetic hold, but the material used on them is so stiff, that until it is broken in, the hold function really doesn't work very well, which is why you probably thought there was no hold feature.
One is large sedan try to be sporty, the other one is sports car try to give you some sedan space. Both car did a good job so does your review. I would choose Lucid for its highway cruise comfort, efficiency and space. Lucid product really maximize the benefit going electric.
As a new Lucid owner, I want to weigh in on some points in the video. First, it isn't easy to reach the seat controls with the door closed. In my experience, this is only true if you have huge hands or are wearing gloves. This can be alleviated by using the more than capable and easy-to-access touch menu. Second, the magnetic vanity mirror in the visor opens using the tab on the side, and when opened fully, the light comes on, and it remains open. There are a lot of great features, and the luxury and materials in the cabin are top-notch, but not everything is first class with the car and its operation. Thank you for this well-done review.
I can sense a bias towards Porsche from you. The lucid is pretty good. Range on average is over 400 miles. The drive is very comfortable with equally great handling.
Thank you for your comment. The Lucid is an amazing car, no doubt, but when you drive cars back to back, certain differences emerge. I was just trying to point out the obvious differences....really not biased towards either car. 🙂

I just sold my Tesla Plaid for a 2022 Lucid Air Dream with 1050 hp. The Tesla sat so low to the ground that it hurt my back. I had a Maybach for the Tesla. The Lucid is a 🪮 of both.

Taycan drives better. Especially cornering is much better. It is a bit hard to brake, slow down and then accelerate at turns with Lucid when compared to Taycan. But in comfort and luxury Lucid beats Taycan.
The low rolling resistance tires on your Lucid are a major handicap when it comes to handling. Next time you do a tire change get some good Michelin Pilot sport 4, these transform the handling. Incidentally the steering rack in the Lucid comes straight out of the 991 GT3, with a slight different calibration. When you will get the new tires, you will see that the Lucid is a canyon carving monster, and I'm not exaggerating here. PS The Lucid is a fine looking sedan, but I loooove the looks of the Taycan though.
Awesome Review! well said that both of these cars are for two different types of people. Personally here are my thoughts (im sure alot will disagree) Lucid has the better value, more luxury features, and better battery/drivetrain Porsche has the better support (more established company/easy servicing), better driving experience (though this is opinion and not fact) and better ui. I like the porsche as it has a more similar experience to an ICE even though being a EV. The coasting like an ICE is what i want in an EV. But at the end of the day, i still like the Lucid more due to the luxury components.
This was a good review in most regards, but I do have a couple comments. The Lucid's seat mounted controls are for guests or those just getting in the car for the first time. More comprehensive seat adjustments are accessed through the screen and then saved to the driver's profile. Profiles for several drivers can be saved and the car recognizes each when seated. Your Lucid was equipped with the smaller and more efficient Eco tires. These do improve range measurably but have a negative impact on sporty driving, especially cornering. Two larger wheel sizes are available. My Air GT has the 21" option and cornering on fast mountain roads is both sharp and reliable. The Taycan is a lovely car but room for both luggage and rear seat passengers is limited. You didn't mention price but Taycan 4S with just the options I could identify from your video is $42,855 more than a Lucid Air Touring with the optional glass roof. The sportier Air GT loaded would be a more reasonable comparison.
Even though the Germans have been building cars for a longer time, they seem not to be able to build efficient EVs. The Lucid is more aerodynamic and efficient than the Porche. Also, need to take into account that, the Air is Lucid’s first attempt. Give them a decade or two, and it will build a superior product than any of the German brands. One point to note is that, not being able to make an efficient car is not unique with the Germans. For what I have seen and read, most of the legacy brands are struggling to define what an actual EV is. Take Tesla for example. They can produce EV’s much more efficient and economical than most legacy automakers and have been around for over a little of a decade. Like them or hate them, they can teach any legacy automaker how to build a an efficient EV that people want to buy. Now, as to which of the two cars, the Lucid or the Porche is better, well the Porche has brand recognition and better built quality. But as an EV I think it’s so so. The Lucid on the other hand, doesn’t have brand recognition and its built quality should improve, it’s a superior EV in every shape or form.
Thank you for your comments. Agree with your points. Lucid has great potential if they can stay afloat until production ramps up and they make more models.
Porsche isn't that good at EVs yet. They are about 7 yrs behind in software and about 4 yrs behind in hardware. Where's the full self driving? Zip! Nothing! Makes it a dumb car.
LOL this is a massively biased review. Taycan gets a range in the mid 200 miles, Lucid gets over 400, and you imply that they could get the same range. Ridiculous. The difference in interior space (both passenger and storage) is massive as well but you barely mention it.
You are right about those points. I simply preferred the drive of the Taycan over the Lucid. Others who value space and range and don't mind the growing pains of a new car company will prefer the Lucid.
Lucid Car looks more handsome but I has very ugly center screen & the curve screen also looks ugly! if Lucid can just install one huge ceter screen like tesla that would the game changer
