I have my X7 for a little over a year and do want to clarify and hope it helps everyone else. For the steering and seat warmers the settings is how 'sensitive' you want the sensor to be not the setting of the strength of the warmer. if you have the seat warmer to low then that means it has to be extremely cold before BMW auto turns the warmer on. If you have it set to high then as soon as it senses its a little cold it will trigger the warmer and turn it on. If set to Very High you are by passing the auto feature and forcing it on. I get cold easily so I have it set to high and most of the time it auto turns itself on. Hope this helps!
I don't think the steering wheel notices how many fingers are currently placed on the steering wheel. I have tested it myself and I think it is the power steering motor that registers if there is a counter movement to its control and then interprets this as a hand being placed on it. So you can also use your knee to give that impuls to the wheel.
I have not needed to put any resistance to the wheel. Light touch with 2 fingers is enough...I wonder if two fingers complete some sort of electric circuit? In addition, counter movements with hand and knees also clearly work.
At 4:30 on the video, I used those settings but still see the regular map. Does the ar view only come up while it’s making a turn or while driving? I went to settings > guidance > augmented view and control display but still see the maps view while parked. Did not drive it out so will update the comment if I find out more. By the way this is the best Bmw x7 videos out there for the 2024 model and I am learning so much. Thank you for taking the time to teach.
Yes the AR view only comes up when a turn comes up...I feel it's much less distracting and more useful that way. Congratulations on the car and thank you for your comment!
Yes, if the alarm is trigerred, all cameras start recording. Also if it detects a collosion while parked, it will record and you can view it on your phone.
@@carminered3229 Does it also trigger for folks getting too near the car without keys? My friends Tesla does that and it’s something I really liked. No one did a video to talk about that feature of BMW while there are a lot of folks that recorded the feature for Tesla. That’s why wondering how sensitive the cameras are.

Nice video! On the instrument cluster the word COMFORT appears. Actually "beneath" the word COMFORT is the total mileage/kms driven to date. I would prefer to see that number at all times. How do you remove the word COMFORT from the instrument cluster. Thank you.
Fineline brown. It looks great but is glossy and sometimes can reflect sun on the passenger. Thus a non-gloss trim may be more practical. Good luck on the order!
I'm looking at getting the x7 and I saw if the trailer hitch is installed, the kick function will not work. The kick function is useful and it is a bit of a bummer that you have to trade one for the other...
how do I disable auto lock! its very annoying to not be able to access my own car in my own garage because I don't have the key in my pocket - I'm assuming most of us have multiple cars!
@Captainhairyass they updated the idrive software over the air. Mine is different too now. I find seat ventilation adequate. They are never very strong in German cars.

Congratulations! There are no physical preset buttons, but if you swipe down from the top on the screen, there are digital short icons available.

Does this have the sentry mode to record for events like vandalism and theft like tesla does? Great review and nice looking car by the way.

I do not think there is. The running board is an extra add on.

@williamh2594 I have not looked into it. I wonder if its hidden in the menu somewhere. If you have your phone in your pocket, it should unlock.
All seats are heat, ventilated, message or not
I have a 2025 and the climste settings do not look like that. The seat cooling is very weak too

This car shouldnt even have a trailer hitch. Such BS, i didnt even want the hitch. I have a TRX for that.
