- Samsung users: unplug your Ethernet! Millions of Samsung Blu-Ray and DVD players are being bricked all around the world.
Finished with Samsung over this. The fact they barely acknowledge this publicly and offer no solution is beyond me.
I turned on my player for the first time last week after 6 months, was able to watch two movies, ON DVD, then paused the movie for about 10 minutes and came back to it on a constant reboot loop.
About a month now mines kept cutting off soon as I turn it on been unplug ever since hoping to try to return to factory settings if it stay on long enough after this I’m done ✅ with Samsung I change tv brands because my 55” went out after 3yrs I switch to LG
Thank you! I have been sitting here trying to figure out why my Samsung BD-J5100 would not work. It’s dead in the water. It’s not but 5 years old but I will be throwing it in the trash and never buying a Samsung product again.
Same
Strip it for any good electronics..if they put any in.
One of my Blu Ray discs has fully stopped working as though there is no Data on it, it's worked a bunch of times in the past and all 5 blu ray players in our house including the PS4 are rejecting this mint condition disc, usually saying it's unsupported, while everything else plays fine, please help ?
Hi I am from India. After lodging a complaint with Samsung customer service, They asked me to try with a different HDMI cable. Poor luck - didn't work. Now they said they would give me a quote for the motherboard, which they presume. The moment I notified them that this is a global complaint, they replied that they would get back in THREE days time.
Im frm india & facing the same issue, as the engineer suggested for motherboard replacement only. But the motherboard is out of stock bcuz of closed production. So, no solution till now. Let us know, what solution did u get finally.
Hi guys, I from India too. Please let me know if you got a solution. I bought this from US so Samsung India is not entertaining the complaint and Samsung US wants me to send it over to them. Took it the local market they dont have a solution either
Is this just blu ray players or all 4k blu ray 🤔 players? Is this happening due to being connected or happening whether or not you're connected to internet?
my samsung blue ray player all the lights are flashing on and off i have unplug overnight
plug it back still flashing ?
Good to know because if that swivel to fix it I’d be happy to have my player back I enjoy my surroundsound and system thanks for the help
At least 2 of ours is doing this, we haven't checked our daughter's yet. However, the 1 not doing it was never connected to our internet. I believe it is definitely a download that caused it, seeing as how our only player not doing this is the one we never connected to the internet. Also, they're all the same model. Hope that helps.
Nah, they're not all the same model.
Samsung is my most hated company on the planet even before this crap happened so imagine for now. I will live 1 thousand lifetimes and still never buy another samsung product.... EVER!!!
Not every thing they make sucks. I doo agree though. That Samsung blue ray players suck. That's why I got an LG.
Same problem UK. Since Samsung bought out HARMAN KARDON they have stopped selling 'Theatre Systems'/Blu-ray Players and only sell 'Sound Bars'. Looks like they don't give a damn about their existing customers!
Good job Swangswung, pffffff. A new motherboard will be installed by the repair center, I will call tomorrow.
Mine just says it can't read the disc now, and opens the tray...with no disc inserted. I took the top off, looked around inside, nothing is out of place or unplugged, and it still just opens n sits. Can't even use netflix now either.
Mine is suddenly not supporting codecs it used to support.
New on here, great job with the info
Thank you.
@@LinuxTechShow My Player turns on but the screen does not show the menu screen, all I see is what is on the TV
My Samsung 3D BluRay player says Can’t Read Disc on any disc inserted
There is no fix coming for any effected devices, the only fix for this is to send the device back to Samsung. Text "HELP" to 62913 and Samsung will pay the shipping and do the repair for free but, you will likely have to pay for proper packaging...so they can fix the device they broke with a failed firmware update. I got confirmation today that they have fixed my HT-J5500W and it is on its way back to me,, it required them to physically replace the ROM in it, that's how bad they wrecked these devices with their failed firmware, which I never approved for them to install on my property. Don't wait for a quick remote fix, it is NEVER COMING. They don't care about blu-ray players, they don't sell these devices in the US anymore and have no plans to offer fixes or replacements. You must contact them and demand a repair, and you better do it fast cause parts are limited and once they are gone, you might as well throw that device away, they don't care about you or your device.
I have the same but it keeps saying no disc when I'm trying to reset it.
I press the play/pause as they told me for a few seconds but nothing happens it keeps saying no disc.
Samsung blue ray dvd reboots it’s self ,, any solution yet,, no one from Samsung respond ,, wasting money and time
I've got 2 Samsung Blu-ray players (BD-J5100 & BD-J5700) that failed within a couple days of each other. I use them primarily for streaming (Netflix, Amazon Prime, VUDU). If you contact Samsung (in the US) via 1-800-SAMSUNG or CHAT, you will have to provide basic info such name, phone, email, model and serial number. They will assign a case number(s) and email you a link to print a pre-paid UPS shipping label(s).
It would be nice if there was an online/diy solution, but I doubt that it possible with the units rebooting every 5 seconds. So, I shipped my players to the Samsung service center for a no-charge repair. In the mean time, I'll just run the streaming apps on a mobile device and cast to my a/v receiver.
I suspect the issue is an expired SSL security certificate in the firmware since this happened to a dozen different models within a few days. And, the only solution is for the service center to drop in new firmware with and updated certificate.
After Netflix and other sources for watching movies appeared, I stopped using Samsung BD-F7500 DVD Player for a few months and the surprise is that now it only loads DVDs; to get it to load a Bluray I have to repeat the loading process from 3 to 20 times.... which is terrible.- I have searched for a solution to the problem to no avail.
It has already been said that Samsung has discredited itself with this Bluray and they don't seem to care... Shame on that company.
The spy ware in the chips has an issue perhaps.
No solution has yet be given
Deben dar solución con su respectiva actualización me paso lo mismo BD-J5900/ZS desde el 20 Junio y nada aún,saludos desde Valparaíso Chile.-
Facing the same problem ... please help
I went to the Samsung support site. Used the chat feature, they emailed me a UPS label. It was shipped, fixed, and back to me working great in a week.
So I am guessing yours is new...or within warranty? Mine was only 3 years old
Mine is ht-j5530....sent for repair and take about a week in canada. Receive it back yesterday. I connect and everything is fine. But this morning Working no more don't want open and i have fan noise...disconnect from the wall waiting and reconnected and always fan noise and don't want turn on 🤬🤬
Has it stopped working yet? Should I connect it to the WiFi after it is fixed?
Wow! Just found about this today!
This is REAL AF its been almost 8years ive had this home cinema surround sound BluRay player and never once had it failed me up untill a few days ago.......each time i turn it on it decides to turn its self off about 3 mins later although ive only ever had it set up to connect my phone to the Bluetooth
This happened to me, and I managed to fix it by opening the device and disconnecting the touch panel. The physical buttons still work for power and volume, but I have to use the remote for everything else. Not too bad, since the touch panel was a bit flaky to begin with.
Which one is the touch panel?
Touch panel would be at the front
Mine was connected to my hot spot and both blurays went to loop in minutes of each other.
Had mine repaired and back in a week at no charge. Just go to their site, go to the chat icon, and they will email you a UPS label.
They no longer offer free fixes. They told me that I would have to pay $100. Told them NO, & hung up. My Blu ray player is now a regular DVD player.; those movies work ok; not the Blu ray movies. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a Blu ray player that only plays DVD's 😡
@@kenobum8135 Your issue sounds different. This issue is about Blu-Ray players rebooting themselves when powered on.
Yes she is right it happen to me is crazy some blu ray movies stop working oh some get froze n skip the movie that really suck
Samsung IS WRONG... I sent my unit back and samsung said they could not repair my unit and offered me $14 because I didn't have the receipt... so I told them I would find it. Spent 2 days tracking down my receipt and sent it to them. Now they are offering me $18. What's going on. They said based on the age of my unit(5 years old) that's the only value and they refuse to replace the unit. IF ANYONE STARTS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IM IN.
I have a Samsung BD-JM57/ZA that has the problem. I got on a support chat with Samsung a few hours ago. They acknowledged the problem, and sent me an e-mail that let me print a prepaid UPS address label to have it shipped to a repair center. The tech rep said that they would do a "factory reset" on the unit and ship it back to me. I'll be sending it to them today.
Wayne Farmer I have the same Blu-Ray DVD player. I also contacted Samsung last week, and the gentleman I spoke to was most helpful. I sent them my device last week. According to the customer service rep, there is a 5-7 day turnaround time. Fingers crossed everything goes as planed.🤞🏻 As an extra kicker, I have a “rented” DVD stuck in my player. The rep told me to attach a note to my device letting them know, so they’ll be sure to mail it back, with my player.
This is happened with my TH j5550k ☹️😑 I don't know what to do...😖😖
Same here ... please help ...
My 5 year old Blu Ray Surround System turn on & off. We were away for 2 days. We arrived home & that's it.. Model HT-E6750W. I've spoken to Service center it costs $100-120 to have a look. They discontinued d Blu Ray products so No Spare Parts anymore but I was asked to bring it in & they can probably fix it. Hmmm.
I am never going to buy any Samsung products again.
Yep, Ghost in the System.
HI everyone, the reboot loop is fixed by opening the device and disabling the touch panel. Yeah I know that sucks but it's a workaround. I did that a year ago and worked fine until now..
Now the issue is, it only responds to the power button on the remote. Which leaves me out of sorts since I don't have a display panel...
Strange thing is, the same remote works fine for the TV. Every button works. So it's not the remote..
If anyone knows how to fix this I would be forever grateful!
Mine is still in boot loop after opening it up and disconnecting front panel
Wow, I picked up a BD5300 used and was going to update the firm ware but not now after I heard this! I have had bad experiences with Samsung appliances, seem like all they know how to do right is phones!🤬🤬
This is why I don’t like Samsung anymore
I have this problem and im trying to fis this.
Law suit for forcing us to buy a new devise
Pffffftt.. They are not forcing you to buy anything.
Don't hook your device to the internet guys. Once to did, it will turn on and off on its own. I fixed my problem by opening the device and unhooking the touchscreen cable from the touch panel. (it took 30 minutes and I am ameature so you can easily do it too). My other issue was it opens and close by itself too. Hope it solve your problem
Mine just has no signal I hardly ever used it now it’s trash I guess
I've nevee plugged the Ethernet in, Mine works perfect! Samsung giving blu ray players covid 😂😂😂
Is it still working? You don't have an internet connection to the player?
The 'boot loop' is officially called 'the Dingo'! d>_0b
What could wrong with the internet of all things?
Happened to me few weeks ago 😤
Same problem. What a piece of s... Smasung DVD player, never again!
This just happened to me. My surround sound home theater is now worthless. WTF I can find a fix for this. Samsung don't care about its costumers. Same for other appliances. Their fridges suck also. Done with samsumg.
Same issue here in Canada. Samsung was a shitty company once upon a time and I think it's heading back there. RIP Samsung!!
Thrown out two, if not three of these machines.....will never buy a Samsung Blu ray player again.
I dont like the Samdung line of TVs and Blueray disk players anyway. My TV ended up failing to a point where it was displaying a double image making it unbearable to watch. Soon after (a few days later), my Blueray player stopped reading movie disks. ….like WTH Samdung??!!! Get your s__ straight!!!
I ended up getting a regular Vizio LCD TV that my neighbor was replacing for a Smart TV. It’s been good so far.
Desde México con la misma falla desde hace 15 días ☹️ que decepción de parte de samsung si esto se queda asi👎
Dame issue from argentina...
Hard reset to factory settings did it for me 😎
HOW?
How?
I tried the factory reset 6 times & it still will not completely play the Blu ray movies. All the regular DVD movie work just fine but not the Blu rays. Called Samsung & those s.o.b.'s actually want me to pay the $100 to fix it. What the "H"! Yeah,right- like I'm gonna pay $100 to get it fixed when I can buy 1 for $50 or $60! They will not fix them for free & I was told they stopped manufacturing Blu ray players altogether. How convenient!😡 So basically I just have another DVD player. Very disappointed in a multi billion dollar company that has left it's customers out to dry!😡😡😡
@@cobolsaurus Don't know if it will work for you because it didn't for me but I will tell you:
1) Using your remote push left on it 'till you see SETTING.& click on it.
2) Another screen appears & you then go down to SUPPORT & click on that
3) You then go to RESET & click on that.
4) it will then ask for a pin & using remote, enter 0 0 0 0
5) You will the get a prompt to Reset; click YES.
6) You will then hear music & it will start up like when you 1st turned it on.
7) You will now go thru the process of starting it out like when you 1st bought it.
Whether this will work for you or not; I don't know? It didn't work for me. My regular DVD's work just fine but NOT the Blu ray movies. I can only watch between 10- 40mins & then the Blu ray movie freezes & I have to eject the movie. Good luck, hope it works for you...
@@user-tl2pd6oh3q See the instructions I have given...
It isn't an overnight firmware upgrade, I know this for certain because I've had two players crash this month, a week apart, if it were an upgrade they would have crashed simultaneously.
Not always, I have a Samsung phone and my partner had the same phone. Her phone updated and mine took another week to get the same update. Samsung don't update every item at the same time. Your probably find your updates was like that.
First, my Samsung phone stops working after 2 years. Second, my Samsung fridge has a major defect where the freezer stops freezing. Now my Samsung blu-ray player that I only used three times won’t turn on. I’m scared that my Samsung dryer will stop working soon. I don’t know why I decided to buy Samsung. I can’t anymore. They are unreliable. The worst company I’ve ever dealt with.
Screw servicing..I’ll throw mine out and buy a different brand Blu Ray player
Frack Samsung
Yeah well I spent 130.00$ and I can't watch movies now I want my money back or I'm done with samsung
1) this has to be one of the worst edited videos on RUclips
2) Samsung sucks. Just spoke to them and they just put me on hold for 45 mins and hung up. Can nobody figure out how to fix this without involving Samsung? It would be nice to have Samsung just mail everyone a new player or a promo code to buy a new one so long as they send these bricks back in as well.
Samsung no good expensive crap never again lg still okay future is Chinese tcl hisence.
my BD-P1600 said "NOT SUPPORT" on my boob-tube's screen
Done with samsung! Will never buy a samsung product again.
Sony already bricked out of the box
