I'm no expert either, but people on another you tube video were saying that you shouldn't hook these players to the internet because when you get the software updates, it erases the multi region player capability.
I believe it because when my blu ray player stopped playing my copy of Animal House and refused to play The Legend Of The Lone Ranger (both region A) after a few updates, the only thing that would fix it was to return to the original factory settings.
On the other hand, the disc could be mislabeled.
I bought a copy of Fright Night Part 2 that was supposed to be for regions A, B & C, but it won't play in either my Sony blu ray player or my Samsung UHD 4K player.
It's good to know these things before I put money on a multi-region player because I have a few discs that I would like to play from Australia, Germany & the UK.
Some are compatable with region A but some are not.
For example my DVD copy of The Jerk Too from the UK will not play in my blu ray players, but I bought a cheap little GPX DVD player from BJ's and it will play it and a few others from Australia like Fatty Finn, Ginger Meggs, Tintin and a couple of Asterix movies from the UK.
But I am going to need a multi region player for my Ocean Girl Complete Series DVDs from Germany but my blu ray copies of Agent Carter from the UK and my copy of The Demolitionist with Nicole Eggert from Germany play just fine.

When the player is off then press the Blue button. That should turn on the player, then pop the disc in.
If still don't work maybe you have done something in the settings for the standby etc.

I followed the directions in this video: ruclips.net/video/sGeVjT-Qok8/видео.html after yours didn't work on my Sony 5500. I think the difference is that I start with my player off and pressed the region colour button I needed until it turned on. Then it played my German bluray. Ah, I see that @KatoTheMaster has already said this. I didn't notice that comment the first time I watched. Pressing the coloured buttons on mine while it's on don't seem to change the region.

Not an expert, but the Region B sample disc you used (Brooke Shields film) looks like a possible bogus situation (bootleg blu-ray). So I would instead check how it works with other Reg. B discs in your collection.
