Blu-Ray/Dvd player door will not eject. Easy Fix

- bigdogelectron... In this video we show an easy fix that should work almost each and every time there is a problem with a DVD being stuck inside and the eject button does not work. Its as simple as just opening up the DVD player, finding the load/unload motor and turning the gears manually to unfreeze the stuck door assembly.
In a throwaway world, I admire a guy like you, who takes the time to fix things.
Just want to say that this video also spared me frustration and time to get my Blu-ray disc out on a dead player before I had to trash it.

Followed your instructions to repair my Insignia Blu- Ray player that I purchased in 2011. The tray would not open. Your spot on man. I was all set to trash it. Now it works fine. Used some Lithium grease. Tray works fine. Thanks much. You are truly the big dog.

Thanks for the video! Mine had the pin that engages the rack connected to the gear out of its track on the disk holder so I was able to take it off and put it back in the track in the right position with information from your video!

You inspired me to try to fix an LG Blu-Ray player. This video helped me to look for the gears. I opened it up, and there was a small black rubber band that had snapped. I had a bag of tiny rubber bands and replaced it. Good as new!

Wow, easy fix. I would have taken it apart, tested the motor with three volts from my power supply and, if good, replaced the belt.

"Get the cover off, that easy." Meanwhile I have a Toshiba player sitting here that I've removed the screws from and the damn metal case STILL won't come off. Of course there are no repair/teardown videos of this particular model anywhere on the net.

I had one that wouldn't open. Turned out they used an o ring from the drive motor as the drive belt. It was completely stretched out. Popped a new one in, good as new. If it's broke, what harm is there in trying to fix it?

On the Blue Ray Player with the unit plugged in Press and Hold the Power and the Door Open on the Unit (not the remote)
for 10 sec or you hear 3 beeps. as long as the unit is plugged it it will stay working with the remote but if you unplug it
you will have to reprogram it again using these steps.
Sounds like there might be an internal battery that’s gone dead.

Vcr door opens but eats the tape on the way out? Used VCR head cleaner but this didn't work. What should I do next?
Check gears or belts. Use the model# of the VCR and look on RUclips.
Whar exactly did you do to get it to eject? Was it adding grease or oiling the gears? I'm having the same problem. It did open half way but then again it's still does not eject to open or close.

Hi, I was trying this for my blu ray player cause the door is stuck. I managed 2 get the cover off and have the same kinda tray down setup. However the tray won't come out the door even with the screws out. It'll lift up but seems stuck in door. What should I do? Also what do u unplug and replug in to take the disc tray out? Thanx.

What happens if you find the video after you "forced it" I tried the instructions in the video but it seems like it is out of sync because I forced it. How do I recover?

Mine is open/close but its spinning just a little bit and stops!

My BluRay player does not play Blu ray but does cd and DVD. Samsung bricked it with an update in 2013.

I tried to take the disc tray off my Sanyo BluRay player, but I couldn’t pray or pull out with force so I won’t break anything.
I have to push down lightly on the crossbar going across the spindle motor, and it releases every time.

I've had a few just die. They would n't do any thing. It sucks. Took them apart and din't change anything. Oh well.
I would at least check/change the Line fuse on these if its totally dead. Just follow the Power cord to the power board and a fuse should be right next to it. Thanks for watching/commenting!

Use a 9v battery to move the motor.
i just bought a "lightly used, good condition" dvd player form some old lady and the tray doesn't open (plus the front plastic is loose). maybe i should try this.
edit:
i ended up trying this fix. the gears were greasy and the rubber band connecting it had good grip. when i turned the power back on, it closed, as yours did, but it did not open XDXD
i manually opened it without removing it from it's place, like by rolling the gear. then i could pull it open the rest of the way. at some point i decided to try putting a DVD in it. it read it right and all, but guess what, WITH a DVD it opens without any extra assistance XDXDXD if u close it without a dvd then it will not open.

MDR easy solution do you think it's an easy solution the fact that you have to remove the casing and directly remove the reader to be able to unlock it I think that ordinary people are not even capable of removing the cover of the reader I don't think it's an easy solution personally I know how to do it instead of turning the wheel to open the drawer you have the small white wand below the reader that you just have to push to open the drawer
MDR solution facile pensez-vous que c'est une solution facile le fait qu'il faut enlever la carcasse et enlever directement le lecteur pour pouvoir le débloquer je pense que les personnes lambda ne sont même pas capables d'enlever le capot du lecteur je ne pense pas que ça soit une solution facile personnellement je sais le faire au lieu de tourner la roue pour ouvrir le tiroir vous avez la petite baguette blanche en dessous du lecteur qu'il suffit de pousser pour ouvrir le tiroir
