- I won in a multiplayer match I was losing badly in Homeworld Remastered multiplayer by changing tactics to counter a Battlecruiser & Destroyer Hiigaran rush as a Hiigaran faction player. I will explain how the battle evolved, what moves I and my opponent made and you can learn about tactics which work and don’t work as well as general advice on what you should or not do in multiplayer matches. I made my opponent rage quit while he had a 3 to 1 firepower advantage and turned certain defeat to victory with one bold move. If you want to find out how, let me explain it from the top.
This is a multiplayer 1v1 match in the Homeworld Remastered version where I play as the Hiigaran faction against a player using the same faction. So a mirror match, meaning we use the exact same units.

@@perafilozof Just got to the Gardens of Khadesh, I've been having a ton of fun so far! I think I'm finally starting to understand the general game flow and how to organize and dispatch units more effectively, which has led to some pretty fun battles! Still gotta wipe out those nasty Taiidan though
Nice one! Do make sure to create a new save at the start of each new mission and once you achieve an objective with minimal losses.
Nicely done! Always think and play in 3-D and use the vertical component to your benefit, from both above and below whenever possible. Making your enemy try to respond to multiple axes of incoming attacks is disorienting and give you time to attack from an even different axis of attack. Diversionary attacks are very effective!!
Indeed, very true. A fake attack on top leaves the bottom undefended and by the time defenders reposition you have taken out a whole resource gathering operation down.
Nice, love to see the HW content. I still play this game but, can never find new content.

I love Homeworld and I am the first person who will say I am sorry for not making more content about it. It deserves it. If you noticed anything I could have done better feel free to say, I am really rusty when it comes to this game and everyone else reading the comments will want to learn more tips.
If you want to use scout emp you use it to kill more fighters not to suicide emp a mobile refinery for a few seconds of 1 or 2 collectors maybe going out of their way to go to mothership. Also try not to build mobile refinerys so much because yoiu save cash keeping carriers over the patches

The last time I played HW in multiplayer was around when it was released, on a lan party. Cool match tho.

Hello erguille and thank you for the comment. I think he had a good chance to win, probably better than me depending on how many resources he had left as I had gathered much more than he during the match and my attacks on his harvesting operation were increasing in damage done. Also if his remaining ships could have destroyed my marine frigates before they took over his BC. Lots of unknown elements but I agree it would have been more fun to see where the battle went after that last attack than to end it like it was ended.

@perafilozof different from the old homeworld 1/2. Have to say still great game modding community. Outshines every other 3D rts game and that's something to say pre-2000's. I'm waiting on homeworld 3 thought will it be as good as its precursors
@@devilkhan3302 Thx for sharing! I also have high hopes for HW3. It might just be the game to put RTS games back on the map if Tempest Rising doesn't do it before it.
HW3 seems like it's going to play more like HW1 in many ways and HW2 in all the good ways. I like the granularity of ship formations in HW1 but I also like the factions being more different in HW2.
