Homeworld 1 and 2 are my favorite RTS games of all time..they just have a feel to them that others lack. (Ships designs are just so good, Taiidan especially Heavy Corvette is mmm)

This mod is ridiculously just... cool. Polished. It just, the music, the audio, the effects, the little DRADIS icons, all of it is picture-perfect. Remembering the several times I've watched BSG 2003. I'm also so happy to hear they're bringing back physical shooting calculations for HW3, as it was for the original. No longer can strike craft sit perfectly still, motionless, in front of a Heavy Cruiser firing all its weapons, and just Be Missed because the universe decrees large ships Can't hit small ones.
Day 6 of asking for a story based Awakening of the Rebellion play through as Pizza the Hutt, who just wants to grow his pizza empire, but the rebels oppose him because he made his meatball pizza out of Gorpians

dam that looks so cool, the reason why your ships wasnt auto engaging they wasnt set to condition 1, which makes them attack anything that comes into there area
In the show, the resurrection ship is destroyed when they launch an attack on it. I think they take out two basestars too. I believe what you were thinking of was the Blackbird, which was the stealth viper that Galen Tyrol built. It takes place after the Pegasus is located and Admiral Cain takes over from Adama. Starbuck takes the stealth viper out in secret and against orders to take pictures of the resurrection ship, as I don't think they really knew what it was at the time.
after that, they use the blackbird, with Lee at the controls, to paint the ship. during the attack, the blackbird is damaged, and lee ejects. The actual destruction of the resurrection ship was carried out by vipers.
@@numberyellow Id hardly say it 'painted' the rez ship..... The blackbird fired volley after volley after volley of nukes into its FTL drive, which exploded and took it out, meaning when the vipers attack it could not just jump out.
@@Debbiebabe69 Blackbird fired ONE non-nuclear missile, to disable the FTL. the only thing i was mistaken about, was lee's role. blackbird was not there to paint the target, just to disable it's FTL drive.

And if you like space games, space sim/management games, rts in general, hell I'd even say this game on a way is a survival game too, long story short its a fucking hell of a game and a masterpiece even beyond mechanics, the story has such an atmosphere and lore in it that's captivating from the beginning, it's so fucking worth the couple of dollars it's not even funny
It would be so great if you played shattered armistice. It’s a stand-alone mod for free space 2 that puts you right in the cockpit of a viper during the opening hours of the second Cylon war
@@finncampbell4662 True, but this was one of the rare instances, where the short campaign felt appropriate.. standing against the entire Cylon fleet, with pretty much no support, the Theseus was never going to overcome those odds... but she sure put a hurt on them. She was a damn good ship.
The Galactica is a Jupiter class battle star. However, it was stripped down with the intent of making it a museum ship just shortly before the onset of the second colon war. As tough as it was in the series, the original configuration of the Jupiter is even tougher.

I remember playing the original one before the mod website got shut down by some weird hackers. It was so sad, the mod was so much fun back in the day, glad to see it alive again
Probably too late to say this but...the Galactica is a Jupiter Class Battlestar. That's why they looked so similar. The standard Jupiter Class still has it's First war armour and weapons whereas the "character" ship Galactica was stripped down between the wars

I've still got BSG 'Diaspora' game on my laptop but I haven't bought an epic space game since Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity on physical disc. I wish these games were still released on disc to buy not just for the game but for the beautiful box art and manuals.

Well, ten years ago wasn't the ORIGINAL Homeworld. The ORIGINAL Homeworld was released by Sierra in 2000 for Windows 9x and Mac. The release 10 years ago was a remaster of the first Homeworld (and Homeworld 2) which had a BSG mod. This is a remaster of mod that's from a remaster of a classic :P
yeah so the mk 3 from the mk 2, the mk 3 gained a weapons bay for missiles and ordinance more than just an afterthought (like on the mk2) so it could go after capitals. The mk 1 and 2 were purely defensive for the most part whereas the mk 3 was actually built around a true space superiority.
Shame it's based on the 'ribbed for the Cylon's pleasure' series, and not the original BSG, even if that resource collector was one of the original rag-tag fleet ships.
'Galactica' is the Battlestar Galactica from the series, as she appears on screen. Galactica is a Jupiter Class that has had most of the external armour stripped off and weighed in for scrap metal (which is why you can see the ribs), over half the guns taken off and weighed in for scrap metal, one of the flight pods decommissioned and turned into a museum, and other cutbacks. The 'Jupiter' in this game is a FULLY FUNCTIONAL Jupiter. The Galactica is a retired Jupiter turned into a museum ship.
I think the Jupiter represents the war version of the design, it's mentioned that bsg herself got downgraded after the war part from political demilitaraztion and defunding and partly cuz she became obsolete so they stripped a lot of weopons and armour from her and her sisters and mothballing them one by one for parts for the rest. Because newer cap ships were better in every way and smaller ships were cheaper faster, and less crew. the old battlestars were used for long range low priority missions before turning the last one into a museum
its the whole point of BSG. Galactica in the series was a shallow husk of her former self, over half her guns were missing, those 'ribs' you see in the hull were where the armour had been taken off and weighed in for scrap, only one of her flight pods worked....
Have you ever tried Conquest: Frontier Wars? I played a lot of that as a kid…the demo that is because I downloaded it from some random website but it was fun. The game is hella old though.
I recently played it again using a GoG version but I had to install an unofficial patch called CQFixPatch. Some of the effects like the wormhole device were not showing anymore. The game was playable until the end. Not sure if I had to install a program to play the cutscenes.
Man, I wish this was done with original homeworld. HW2's core game implementation was pretty broken. (literal dice rolls for collision detection. HW1 did real stuff... that change alone made formations almost pointless)
Hi, I’m having a bit of trouble installing the mod. I’m getting it from Steam. When I go to the mod menu in the game launcher it only allows me to select one mod, when you need to select all the portions of the mod for the full thing to work. Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
dosnt have the same playerbase, but there are 2 good private servers out there still playable: BSGO - this one is an almost complete replica of the original game. BSG Online 2.0 Ressurection - this one offers faster progression through better loot and a bigger mission cap, but lacks KEWs, stealths, and carriers.

The scale of everythng is excellent, but the draw distance is an issue..

The only thing about this mod is that I like the squads of fighters instead of single units. Or even have two fighters. Lead and wingman.
