Absolutely...Francis is on the money. Two things about Mike Tyson that are often overlooked...how fast and explosively he could close the gap...and what a fine defensive boxer he was. One minute Tyson is on the outside against a guy with a far longer reach and greater height...the next minute he's delivering a devastating blow without being hit at all on the way in.
Ye hus defence when MOVING FORWARD was what allowed him to get into his range past his opponents optimal range, using dempsey rolls, lightning fast side to side head movement, constantly adjusting and adapting his guard work and not allowing them to just clinch up as he's setting himself up for uppercut n hooks, the best offence is always built off of superb defensive movement's and outstanding footwork. And then being the lower shorter fighter in all his fights meant that if he was in range and his oppenents was doing a good job of defending their head he would adjust to that by BLASTING the body almost forcing some of the hardest toughest boxers to open themselves up upstairs, definitely not just some brute who could move fast, his style was so much deeper then that because he could make so many smart adjustments because you know "everybody's got a gameplan until they get punched in the mouth" and Mike was one of the best at adjusting and correcting his body even after taking big shots himself. We may never see another guy who can "copy" his style again in boxing, just so many unique factors I mean even if some new heavyweight came into the game with a physique just like Mike's he would still need some seriously big balls and courage to fight like Mike did with his style.
And then imagine its that guys FIRST boxing match ever and on top of that he beats the hell out of you but the judges gift you a win only because it puts more money in everyone's pockets but deep down you know that the world knows that you know you lost

If Tyson really wanted to commit to being a trainer, he would win trainer of the year in about 2 years and have a full stable. He would be mentioned in the same sentence as Freddie Roach, Derek James, Robert Garcia, Eddie Reynoso. He did wonders for a fighter who never had a pro fight… now imagine if he had his hands on a more experienced boxer. I’m hoping Tyson enjoyed training so much; he’ll take more fighters and people were so impressed with his coaching that they seek him out.
People miss the point with why Mike helped Ngannou. Yes he was in awe of Ngannou's ability and power having seen what he was doing to heavy weights in the UFC, he knew if he tweaked Ngannou correctly in a boxing match he would be just as devastating but Mike also wanted the fight to be legit for the sake of both Fury and Ngannou. Fury was expecting to knock out Ngannou quick and really that wouldn't have looked good for either side, the fight would've looked like a complete walk over, and a boxer fighting empty cans is never a good thing. What Mike and Ngannou did was a major victory for everyone involved, the promoters Riyadh Season, the Furys and the MMA community all came out winners. I also see Mike helping Tyson in the near future against Uysk.
