Had a friend who took BJJ for 10 years. We went through Army Combatives 1-3 together. During the grappling portion he completely dominated me to the point where I thought he was unbeatable. In the final phase of combatives, striking was allowed, I nearly KO'd him on the feet, he clinched and took me down, but fell on his back and had me in his guard when I punched my way out of it and took the mount and finished him with a TKO. Most people who take BJJ are so set in their ways they don't know what to do when they are fighting someone who can grapple, but who is also trying to punch them. Up until that point I had never tried to punch this guy before since we had always just grappled. He even admitted afterwards he had no idea what to do because he wasn't used to someone punching him in the face or rib-cage in the middle of a grappling match.
In real life It's the ideal set up....a striking art with a grappling art ......with some good situational awareness and sprinting skills. Strike, grapple, strike, get the fuck out of there before the cops come

I guess it is possible; if Musk lost 43 pounds and Zuckerberg gained 43 pounds then they could compete as light heavyweights; the percentage of body mass change would be bigger for Zuckerberg, but it’s easier to gain weight than to lose weight.

I don't understand why Joe is so eager on 12 to 6 elbows. We're talking about ground elbows, for example in mounted position. There's no way you generate as much force rotating only your upper body with a 3 to 9 elbow or whatever, than you'd with a 12 to 6. Also one big part is, with the 3 to 9 you're hitting with a much wider part of your elbow. The 12 to 6 elbow is VERY pointy and thus will deal more unnecessary damage (like cuts) compared to the other elbows.

In this scenario, it's unreasonable to suggest that your single-arm tricep press could overpower my deadlift, as it's akin to claiming that the strength of your one arm can surpass my ability to crank your arm in a well placed armbar.

I do feel like joe associate’s any fighting with trained guys but the one thing he and everyone needs to understand is most people in the world are not trained fighters or combatants and if your not trained weight class will always be the biggest disadvantage to anyone.

I don't understand why Joe is so eager on 12 to 6 elbows. We're talking about ground elbows, for example in mounted position. There's no way you generate as much force rotating only your upper body with a 3 to 9 elbow or whatever, than you'd with a 12 to 6. Also one big part is, with the 3 to 9 you're hitting with a much wider part of your elbow. The 12 to 6 elbow is VERY pointy and thus will deal more unnecessary damage (like cuts) compared to the other elbows.
If the 12-6 hits you right in the eye, with the pointy elbow sinking into your socket pushing eyeball back got be uncomfortable.
