I have used a small jar that I fill with water then squirt various frozen food into it then slowly lower it to the bottom by way of an attached string. My scooter dragonet goes inside and eats to his hearts content. I also have a good pod population so he is nice and round and healthy. It only took him about 10 minutes to figure it out the fist time now he goes in almost immediately. Give it a try and see how it works for you.
i just broadcast feed & add live foods every 90 hours or so, sometime more often i have random flow generators that move the "old" food around luring them to it blood worms, prime reef mysis/artemia mix from frozen
I have seen this years ago in my tank. I struggled getting all kinds of food they sucked it up and whoosh it out, and bottom stomach area getting sucked up and can see the space between body and sand surface because of empty stomach, it was so pain full to watching them starved to death .3rd day I knew they wont survive.i rather get a yellow watch man. I don't understand why fish store keep kind of fish have 0.1% survival rate.i hope they are still alive. Good Luck to you sir 👍
How's it going Rahmat, I'd say try to pick one that is already eating or that reacts to food before you purchase them. If not start with live copepods and slowly introduce it with frozen food. Only time will tell, good luck! I hope this helps
Thank you sir, so far I have kept Mandarin fish never lasts longer, the copepod in the tank that runs out of Mandarin fish also died ... thanks for the advice🙏
@@peaceofmind9409 Glad to hear! Check out brine hatchery and feeder systems for mandarins in addition to pods. They work great! www.saltwatersmarts.com/diy-target-feeder-mandarinfish-pipefish-2804/
@@peaceofmind9409 how long did it take for them to fatten up I got myne 3days ago he is constantly eating but has not gained any weight And how long did it take for them to start eating brine
@@pvaquariums7720 Depends on what they eat, for example when I had one that wouldn't eat anything expect blood worm that one would always look skinny even though he's eats like a pig. Until I trained it to pellets, and Mysis (i target feed every 2-3 hrs) soon he got huge! of course the best way is to always have pods available for them. As for brine shrimp mines eat right away when i got em.

This video brought me internal peace of knowing my mandarin eats frozen regularly
That's the best feeling! I'm glad your mandarins are eating, mines finally accepts frozen food now
Its SO easy to hatch baby brine and they eat it without fuss. Why not do this? Mine is literally so fat from baby brine

What kind of pellets do you feed your mandarin?
How long does it take, sir, Mandarin fish to eat?

You can see by the line on the side that these fish are starving. They need constant supply of pods and other live feed.
Totally Agree, Gladly the fish are now back to weight since purchase.
