I got your flight test book for Christmas
You guys should try flying a radio flyer wagon!! You know the red wagon!!?? They did it in that one movie!
FANTASTIC! I m smiling so much my cheeks hurt! Thank you guy's @ flight test 4 showing people what it means to fly & build your own " paper air planes!" I get so much joy watching your video's!
Sending positive vibes your way.
Peace love dream's!🇨🇦
💞🌐📷📽️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌅🌏💜🌎💚🌍🌄🛩️🚀🛫☮️💗☁️🎬😉
@6:22 I know it real, but the way that plane takes off looks fake! Lol it looks so goofy!
Guy you should try to make the snowman or / and the snow dog
Watching Josh realize he has to run to get the plane was entertaining haha! Happy flying to all of our flight test family
Happy flying out ther and!!! STAY A WAY from turbulence
"Optimistically"
I would like but 69.

RC Paper Airplane combat at FF 2020? ;)
Tyler Kenepp yes please!
I agree! I formally challenge you to an epic battle!
@@corpsefpv3154 count me in too!
Count me in, we can stay in a certain area during a combat
Are you going to put build plans online?
I’ve seen books that call the “original” one: the Dart.
Same
Scientific American book on paper airplanes called it the dart as well. There are many references: www.foldnfly.com/1.html
Agreed
World record paper airplane book?
Maybe but it is spitting image of the retired supersonic plane called CONCORDE
It's called the dart
they call paper airplanes "darts" across the pond
It's the dart
@@grampysmagic3327 Pretty sure its called that everywhere. I was really surprised they didn't know what it was called.
I think I've seen it called the "arrow" as well
@@grampysmagic3327 never heard that here (across the pond)
...and thank you for all you are doing for the hobby!
The enthusiasm and excitement at 9:18 was contagious! This kind of energy has got to be the #1 reason I've been watching FT for so many years. You guys already have me pumped for flying season and it's only January!
Kudos to the drone operator; wonderful footage. When I was a kid, none of this would have been possible (60 years ago). You guys make me want to be a kid again. Thanks for sharing.
Man, this was awesome. This felt like an OG Flite Test video, right down to the crash at the end.
The “Classic” plane was commonly known as the “Dart”.... I think.
most feel good episode ever, smiling from start to finish. Well done lads
When Alex's plane was flying, did anyone hear the Imperial march from Star wars? It looked so much like a battle cruiser from some angles.
That was fun to see Josh chase that plane. I thought it might go a little further but not that far!! A close up to see his reaction would have been hilarious!! Go big or bigger! AH7 out!
This might be the best video you've ever done. I make paper planes with my 3yr son occasionally and he loves them. These huge powered gliders just looked outstandingly majestic, it was poetry to see them fly. The skydance of the paper planes gave honour to the gliding sheets of A4
*Now THAT'S classic FliteTest!!!* CHEAP, easy to Fly Airplanes for the rest of us!
I for one can't wait to build one. I can hack up my Drone that's now an outlaw, for power. 😁
*THANK YOU!!!*
Carmine ✈🚂🚙
That vertical takeoff was the coolest. The AirForce spent all kinds of money trying to figure that out in the 50s-60s and all they had to do was build something that looked like a paper airplane :D
What a great project
The snow is so cool with the planes!
Has to be one of my favorite FlightTest segments yet. The childlike wonder of watching those two paper airplanes float around so serenely just put an unconscious smile on my face. As always, thanks so much for sharing.
Steve
3 grown men jumping up and down giggling over a giant paper airplane... I love that the heart and soul of FliteTest has not changed one bit!!! And I would totally love to bring my kids to FliteFest rather than Disney! lol
Wow! That's amazing. It flew all the way to the ground.
Apparently the common paper aeroplane is the Paper Dart.
As an aside, schoolchildren were throwing actual paper darts well before the Wright brothers flew, although most were more darty than planey.
You are on to something! I have been flying paper airplanes with my two year old granddaughter. It is so much fun that the child literally jumps up and down and chuckles no end. She don't throw so good yet, but nobody has ever been as eager to bring the plane back to me, to be thrown again! Back to basics does you a world of good! 😊 👍 ❤
Hey, I know in paper airplanes there's two categories; darts and gliders. Darts are meant to be fast while gliders are more slow, but usually more controlled. If you wanted your large scale airplane to be slower, try making a glider. This was the original dart, I would love to see the original glider!
Josh thanks guys for organizing and representing the RC flying hobby.
I've watched a ton of your videos but I have never made a comment. This is by far my favorite episode. That is so funny. You need to start selling this one!!
VIDEO SERIES IDEA: Can you go into the science of aerodynamics and the physics of flight more!?!
I love the descriptions in this video, and would like more!
You guys are awesome having fun living your dream job. This Old Man been RCing for 55 years with a large fleet. Still get excited watching grown men flying paper airplanes. Love you guys. ✈😎💖
Alex and his little puns. killin me lol "put some big ol flappers on there"
Could you do a vid on the history and background of F.T.?
Check the older videos with Chad, Josh and David. There are some videos that talk about themselves and they mention about the history.
Strangely this took me back to my beginning love of airplanes as a youngster. I’m 70 now. Best episode I’ve seen in a while!! 👍👍🏆🇺🇸
I used to build a ton of paper airplanes at school, all the way from 3rd grade to senior year. My third grade science teacher in fact gave me a huge paper airplane book and daily I would go through tons of planes. Its probably as big of an effect towards my interest in aviation as WW2 history is. That said, I should give this a try!
Paper airplane RC combat!!! You know you wanna!!
I know what I'm doing tonight lol
I couldn't help but start building one after the video 😂
I have a suggestion for a challenging RC build with your maker's foam. Make a large scale V-22 Osprey (larger than the 19inch model). One that is functional, that can transition from hover to forward flight and back to hover, without resorting to a lifting fan in the tail.
I laughed so hard when they crashed, it was so unexpected with the music and how you guys were talking, then the reaction to it, priceless. Thank you FT for always giving us great content by just being yourselves.
That blows me away how on the Classic Paper Airplane, the forward wing area tapers perfectly to give it almost perfect center of lift and center of gravity.
WORLD FIRST: Paper airplane combat! Crushed it. Great video guys. I was laughing along with you.
You should ask people to make their own giant paper planes for next Flite Fest. Imagine the sky darkened by giant paper planes!
Every kids dream! In many ways this was more iconic than making the Millennium Falcon fly! Keep it up!!!
Speared him lol! 😂👍
Probably the quickest way to build beyond just cutting elevons into a flat sheet. Looks fun as hell. I know what I'm trying when the snow melts.
This video made me smile...and that saved my sanity!
This is the FliteTest I love! So much fun!
The Paper Airplane looks like a Star Destroyer! Now you have a base platform to build a Star Wars flying look alike!
Why am I crying? All I'm doing is watching two supersize paper planes flying effortlessly around the sky.
Make a supersized one into paper aeroplane carrier. Load it with a hundred paper aeroplanes and release them midair.
This is one of my favorite builds- the formation shot looks like fighters from farther away. Been watching from the beginning. Keep it up, thanks FT.
That’s pretty darn cool!
Can’t wait to see the field one day. We need to get you a US Flag (and Ohio State flag too I guess) on that nice flag pole! ;)
Or at least a windsock.
USS PRINCETON CG-59 yes! Will remedy that soon. :)
Or, a flitetest flag. ;-)
THAT WAS AMAZING!
R.I.P ant @ 2:35
...you guys are awesome! Loved it!
I'm thinking you guys have opened up a whole new area of projects to explore. You can take ANY of the flying paper airplane designs out there and make it a challenge project. These are fascinating to watch fly. Also... may I suggest a project series? I like to call it The Hoppers... real airplanes that made it into the air before the Wright Flyer but failed for one small reason or another. Ader's Eole. Maxim's huge airplane. Henson and Stringfellow Aerial Carriage.
18:52...OMG, its like the Cessna epi. all over again. WAY less damage this time. Holy flash back, phew
The mating dance of "paper airplanes" :-)
One of my favorite videos you guys have done. I started making paper airplanes with my dad when I was very little. I now have that fun with my boy, who is almost 5, but he asks when we can build them and it provides so much joy. Definitely going to look into doing a giant foam board one. We are going to be launching our first model rockets here this weekend and I can't wait for that reaction from him.
Make a nutball out of a boogie board that can land on water
That's awesome. There are a lot of great paper plane designs to choose from also!
Great job guys. Yeah KF airfoils are wonderful. For past ten years all of my planes that I've designed and built have KF airfoil and I absolutely love it because to me KF flies (in its own air) so to speak
World record longest paper airplane throw
now this is some classic flite test goodness
Fantastic job, guys!!! 😃
Plans for those... When? 😬
This is one of the funniest and awesomest episodes you guys have made to date! Brought my boy and I a lot of laughs. Thanks team Flitetest!
Very awesome! I can’t wait to see the big version.
reminded me of the 1986 film Flight of the Navigator lol , and that could be your next project, make the flying machine from that film and make it so it changes shape to fly fast or slow!!!!
I make The paper airplane but I put flaps on the rear of mine by cutting a 1cm in the centre of each wing, but do not cut it out, just fold it upwards to the desired angle.
This is the new FAA class of RC craft approved for RC flight without transponders
I haven't flown anything in over 30 years but, if you built a kit of the modified paper plane, I'd do that.
Great Video!
More videos guys!!! There’s been two worth watching in two months... stop procrastinating 😊
You guys ever consider making the Moller Skycar using servo controlled EDF's?
As for the other paper plane... at school in UK I think we used to call that 'Plane That Flies Long Into Back of Teacher's Head' ;)
The midair was hilarious. U guys are AWESOME. Love your work and please do not ever stop.
Funny how the original 'dart' looks just like a star destroyer.
I always thought that too and the fact that a star destroyers profile is flight worthy think back in the day origami and paper airplanes may have influenced the stealth race
The Alex plane is like the Flite Test SST.
"Air has a Brain"
The next time someone calls me an airhead I will thank them.
I've made giant paper aeroplanes with big pieces of drawing paper before, but generally not this classic design. I've tried the rectangular glider type with a heavy folded bar nose (super floaty, even floatier when giant... but won't stab your eye out) and an odd fighter jet/dart-like thing I may or may not have invented... and one taped to the other. I never got to putting motors on them, though.
Gentlemen, please consider moving your new East-coast outlet a little further East, like, the U.K.
Come to the ark side, we have tea, cake, & NOW! - a vast European import market moored just off our East coast, in fact, being an island we're all coast, what an opportunity!
Vast hordes of likeminded adults, all clamouring for decent kit & the challenge of launching their ceiling tiles skyward . . . at will. How can this fail? Come to England & help us demonstrate : )
This made me feel 10 years old. So awesome guys!!!
theres a beauty to that simplicity
Plans.... not that you them... brilliant episode
Gotta love it!
That's exactly the type of thing I want to see from FT :DDD 😃
2:57 the proof that pork can flies!🤣
I motorised a paper airplane when I was younger and went flying and never came back
That makes me believe my dad did that an to this day he’s still chasing it it’s been a few years now
I saw it go over my house about two weeks ago!
throngcleaver No freaking way 😨😮
@@lucid4984 Way!
@@lucid4984 I'm your dad son. I'm not chasing planes I'm chasing tail.
Why does that plane flying make me smile so much? I love this!
Watching the 'paper airplanes' fly was oddly relaxing, they flew just like the small ones, despite being powered. It was pretty obvious to me that they flew better than expected and you guys were having way too much fun doing it. ;)
I'm not in the hobby but every video you guys put out WOWS me.
Awesome build guys
This is a really good idea but you really need The World Record Air Plane Book to make the fastest high flying paper planes. Great content thanks for sharing.
I replayed that vertical takeoff a few times hahaha it just looked so cute
This is amazing! I love how smooth it flew. Good job guys!
ok. That made me laugh out loud. twice.
I love you for all the flite test members. 😍 😘😘💖
LOL@ Panicked Chad running for the plane as it headed for the water!
Nice one, very cool.
one of the best episodes snowfall made it more enchanting
I really loved this episode something really different! It was just really satisfying to watch, I can imagine how satisfying it was to build and fly. Really can’t wait for a supersized version or a build video of even this size for both models !
Another project well done!
This blew me away and completed my life. I spent my entire 5th grade year making paper airplanes and seeing that Classic fly so smooth just made my day!!
