My new favorite quote from Lindsay Weirich, "My favorite way to procrastinate one project is to start another one." 😂 Expect to see that in one of my many unfinished art journals soon!
What a cool idea. A few years ago, my mom took me to Jo anns and I picked out some fabric for her to make me an apron. I love it and I wear it any time I use oils or acrylics. Its' a white material so it looks cool with all the paint I get on it. Just recently she made me a paint caddy that I can take to the boat docks and paint. It has little sail boats on it to match the boats I paint next to. That was a surprise after I showed her a video of me painting the boats while sitting on the water. I used to live next to these docks as a little kid, but moved away. I moved back as an adult, and when I walked along the docks, I remembered her taking me on them as a small child. I will hold on to those memories, the apron, and the caddy as a token of how much I love and appreciate my mom.
Oh I love you in your MacGyver Mode; skewt apron!! I love your fabric’s modern pattern and color palette. ❤ Thanks for the sale notification and brush demos. 🙏🏾💜👍🏾🤩🥰
I’ve been procrastinating all day… I had to let my 13.5 labradoodle go 2 days ago now, and while I made sure it was gentle and peaceful at home for her and my vet was bloody brilliant, my hubby and I are traumatised at losing our world and I’m trying desperately to fill the dog-shaped void that’s left in the house with anything that will distract me today so that I don’t have another day like yesterday where I couldn’t stop crying so I’m stalking my fave creators in the hopes they’ve made a video I can watch… so yay for you, Lindsay! Cleaning a filthy vintage sewing machine too, while I watch!
Love this idea! You could reverse your car idea! Instead of hanging down the back of the seat for kid's supplies, use it for plein air painting from the car, hang it from the passenger seat headrest down the front of the seat to keep your supplies from getting away from you in the car!!!
What a clever idea. I have a couple of existing aprons. I don't need the brush holder, but love the idea of a zippered pouch added to it. I'm definitely going to be adding one to the one my mother made me years and years ago. It has lovely deep pockets on the bottom, but it could use something more secure on the top. I love the idea of just using a nice sturdy zippered pouch. So handy when doing arts and crafts of any kind. Love your creativity. Thanks for all you share!
A great way to repurpose things! 👍 You could also sew the neck ribbons to the back of the pouch so you don’t have to put them inside the pouch when you want to zip up your pouch. 😁 And for added strength on a strap, you can sew a box then sew an X in it - this creates a very strong hold! Steph
What a great brillant idea Lindsay! If you wave a lighter or even a BBQ lighter over the ends of the ribbon it will seal it! You might know this already just a thought! Hugs Liz x
Hello Lindsay, you are never boring. Don't think I have a pouch, etc BUT..... I do already have a grill apron (2 of actually) that I can use 1 and sew it to a literal canvas material brush roll I have. Hummmm, got my wheels in my brain going. Thanks for sharing this idea. I appreciate you and I'm sure all your regular followers do as well. Take care young lady and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
How cool is that? Very awesome idea. This is one skill I wish I would have learned when I was younger...how to hand stitch well and know how to use a sewing machine. Thanks "sew" much Lindsay. You come up with the best ideas. Have a great weekend, I enjoyed todays Sat Chat also. 🥰
Great idea. I've had a similar holder for years for tools that fits over a bucket, but have wondered about using it for something other than that. Maybe cutting it apart and fashioning it into an apron could be useful. It was fun watching this. The brushes sound nice, too. Thanks!
Hullo Lindsay, This is a super project and an easy sew too! I am not so sure about those brushes. I have got brushes like those before and they simply do not compare to a good watercolor brush. I know how we want to have "all the brush types" but it is better to spend the same amount on one or two brushes than get this whole set! I have found very good brush sets on e-Bay and many are brand new even a used brush is better than many new brushes of the older style synthetic brushes. If these brushes were made in the new synthetic style with different diameter hair and coarseness they would be a tremendous deal, but I am not seeing that in your video. They do not seem to carry enough water/paint and are not snapping back to a point. You are such a kind person, I see why you want everyone to be able to afford art supplies. I think some supplies just need to stay on a store shelf. My Gran admonished me more than once that you only need 1 brush if it is a good brush! She was partial to a #12 Sable, I have found the #12 Aqua Elite Synthetic Series 4850 long body from Princeton a very good brush, it is synthetic hair too, but a much better brush than these you have shown today. It can be found for under $20.00
How clever! If I were to use it for a Crayola kit I would probably sew a seam up from the bottom to shorten the brush pockets a bit to hold the crayons where little fingers could get better access. But remember, crayons can melt if left in a hot car! Thanks for sharing your DIY. Reminds me of some I've done over the years. 😊
Hey compared to me, you are a pro! My sewing machine bobbin always comss loose. I didn't even know that sewing machines need servicing until a friend told me. I have it to sew on paper and do mending; I don't know much about sewing and find it intimidating. It's funny, my grandma was great at sewing and my grandpa was a tailor. He tried to teach me once and it just didn't work for me. He took to it quite naturally and instinctually; I unfortuntely don't and he got frustrated with me not getting it. We all aren't fantabulous at everything lol.
What a great idea. I'm thinking that would be a great idea so I do't have to carry anything when I go plein-aire painting. I could wear it!! Also, loved the thumbnail pic!!
My mom had a White machine that she bought probably on the 50's. It's in my closet now. It doesnt get used but I've wondered if they still make them. Moms wasnt heavy duty but it is HEAVY!
I have been wanting some brushes for acrylics. I bought the brushes. They are only $21.99 for the next 14 hours. Ty for the heads up Lindsay! Oh! and the brushes have a 4.7 rating.

Yeah- that’s the best line! And so many of us can relate!😂
Ditto!
“All hail procrastination” 🙌🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's totally me, too! 😅
Nice!

I am so sorry, big hugs ❤️ 💙 💜
Hearts for your OG vintage White machine.
What a great idea. I love when ideas like this pop up in our heads. And yes, I feel like I will start a million things before finishing one.
You can do it!
I think this is a fabulous idea..mind I could watch you and listen to your quirky ways all day😂
Oh thank you!

Such a great idea, and loved the thumbnail!
Yay, thank you!
Great Frugal Crafter idea!
Thanks 😊
Thanks for the info on the brushes. Your pouch, brush roll apron is great. I need to do something like that for a gardening apron.
You are so welcome!
LOL. You're not procrastinating, Lindsay...you're proCRAFTinating! Which is way better! 😂

Don’t think I’d have thought to turn these two items into an art apron, but it worked. Lots of possible uses.
It's handy!

I don't think of that being from Maine, good point! Colored pencils then!
Love it. Thanks for the share. Also u show where our crafty brains can take us❤

Hello, Lindsay. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
Genius idea!
Glad you think so!
@@thefrugalcrafter I'm already rummaging to see what kind of pouches I have. Like you, I already have a bazillion brush rolls. 😄
Cool photo ❤
Thanks 😊
I have been wanting some brushes for acrylics. I bought the brushes. They are only $21.99 for the next 14 hours. Ty for the heads up Lindsay! Oh! and the brushes have a 4.7 rating.
Enjoy them:)
Procrasticrafting!
😆 🤣 😂
Oh, funny first picture. It shows an entire different side of you. 😁
😁
You could have also put the neck strap on the outside of the bag & used it as a carry handle. So many possibilities!
That probably would have been better!
Kinda feeling this deserves a like just for the thumbnail! ❤😂😊
Aww, you are so sweet!
Just wondering what it is about faux squirrel you like for a cats tongue brush?
It's more absorbant and nimble
You could sew the ribbon across the waist to hide where you sewed the pouch and roll together.
I have a brother that someone gave me brand new. It is time to get out of the closet.
Yes!
