      I mean tbh it doesn't even matter. The only thing that matters is if the end user is happy with their device. Tbh most people who would prefer a wider, more usable outer display will probably go with the pixel fold. Speed is not everything it's only part of it. @@jiml.9026

    I love the Pixel specific features and form factor of the fold. I just wish multitasking was more powerful on the Pixel Fold and the open/close was a bit smoother like the Open. Each device definitely has its pros and cons and im lucky enough to be able to own both as well.

    Another possible advantage for the OP Open might be the UFS 4.0 memory vs. the 3.1 in the PF as far as open and closing of apps.

    In all fairness, the fact that you can see a 1 sec difference when opening an app or one of them renders something 5 seconds faster shouldn't make you not choose that device. I have a Huawei mate 40 pro, with the 3-4 year old kirin 9000 processor and I recently got the z fold 5. Honestly I don't see that much of a difference, I still use the Huawei because it's still (to my surprise) on par with the latest sd 8g2 phones. It depends on the software and how much of a princess you are regarding to the millisecond difference in app opening. Also I tried the same games on both and both of them get sometimes pretty warm to the touch. Maybe the Tensor chips would get a bit warmer, idk, but if you are not one to go insane mode on your phones, leaving them filming in 4k for an hour out in the summer sun, then you should be ok with the pixel as well

    Gonna be honest, if a purchasing factor of a multi-thousand dollar device comes down to animation speed, you're looking at two VERY good devices.

  • @thetruthstand

    My issue is that the fold does not have Google's latest and greatest technology. For a device that they want to charge almost $2,000, that is a hard pill to swallow. It's always going to be behind the pro model unless they do something drastic like delay of release of the fold 2 until they can put the G4 chip in the device. For $2,000, can we at least get the same cameras that you're putting on a device that is half the cost? Don't get me wrong. I still love this device but for it not to have the latest and the greatest tech that Google has to offer, is kind of disappointing

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  8 месяцев назад +2

      The Fold, like Samsung's, will always be a mid-gen release and will therefore always have the next faster SOC coming in less than half a year. Wait for the G3, the G4 is 6 months away. Wait for the G4, the G5 is coming. What I never can understand is why I see this comment all the time about the Pixel, but never for the Z Fold, even though it's the exact same situation. Not that that part has anything to do with you lol.

I also I like the form factor on the Pixel, I didn't think I would at first but I do miss that bookish feeling. But the Open is so much lighter than the Pixel I still don't regret switching. First off, great channel and videos. Super insightful and helpful. Because of your videos, I obtained both the OPO and Surface Duo 2. Something I just noticed was that I'm getting much faster WiFi speeds on the SD2 than the OPO. I believe that's because the OPO only has 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, where as the SD2 also has 802.11 ax. I'm seeing more than 3x WiFi speeds on the SD2. (Funny enough, even my Samsung Note 10+ has 802.11 ax and gets faster WiFi speeds than the OPO. Of course, the CPU is a different story.) Do you know of any benchmark comparisons between the OPO and SD2? (Or could you do one?) Again, thanks for all you do! (Next, I'll contemplate putting Android 14 on the SD2. You think it's worth doing?)

    I have the Pixel 8 Pro and the Oneplus Open. 've been bouncing back and forth between two and trying to figure out which one to keep. Right now, I'm leaning pretty heavily toward the P8P because the software and voice control/texting experience on Pixel devices is so much better. Plus, with all foldables, you end up using the outside screen the majority of the time. That said, having played w a Pixel Fold, I really dont like its form factor; It's too wide and heavy. I really hope they go with a narrower form factor and lighten up the Fold 2. They also need to use a matte screen protector on the inner display and have it run closer to the edge of the screen. Having the screen protector that far away from the edge would drive me nuts if i was using it regularly. Finally, if the Fold series is going to be a flagship, it really needs to launch with whatever Google's latest processor is.

    What people miss, is that the Google Pixel fold, if it waited for the tensor G3, they would have to make a ton of those because they would be making it for three different phones at the same time. People act like because the processor doesn't compare in benchmarks, it can't game at all.
