But where do you have to go within the Woodlands checkpoint to find those stairs at the start????? I'm in Singapore on Sunday and want to do this walk. I've been stuck on the causeway for 3 hours more than once, Tuas the same and this would be great.

Answering my own question. Caught a train to Kranji. Got off the train and then out to the front of the station and got on one of the yellow buses that go over to JB - my tourist transport pass covered this. Got off at CIQ, cleared Customs and then headed as though I was getting back onto the yellow bus. When down at the bus level I just keep walking towards the very end of the platform. This is where the spiral staircase is. There was a Customs person near the end of the platform and I was expecting him to tell me to go back but I just said "Walking to JB" and pointed to the entry to the "Spiral stairs", the turnstile. He nodded and went back to reading. I progressed through the turnstile then down the stairs and that's where this vid kicks off. "Went Already Loh" also has a vid covering basically the same path. I agree with "Went Already Loh" that it takes about 25 - 35 minutes, depending upon how fast you walk. Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your wits about you, there are cars and motorbikes whizzing by damn close to you. Also, grab a 600ml water at Kranji and don't do as I did and try this at 11am without sunscreen - it's a bit hot.....
