Deathstroke boss fight In knight was harder than origins and why would they male him fight fist time fist again when you already did in origins makes no sense
What annoys me so much about the cloud burst Tank Battle with the Arkham Knight is that once he spots you, it takes SO DAMN LONG until your able to shake him off and resume stealth. He will chase you almost for eternity and it just gets so stressful.
That’s why it’s fun for me. It gets so tense and seeing his shots barely miss me, which tests your map knowledge and driving skills is super satisfying.
Each of the Arkham games have had a stealth boss, which is a boss you fight where you either have to sneak around, or can't be seen. For Asylum, it was Scarecrow(and technically Croc if you want to count that) For City, it was Freeze For Origins, it was Bane But Knight....the Cloudburst? I dunno, it just feels weird, having all these epic battles where you have to sneak around, but then in Knight you have to do that but in a giant tank.
Hey bro, you forgot Jason Todd's boss fight as the Red Hood. Sure it isn't as stealthy as Croc's or Scarecrow's and of course, not Mr.Freeze (which I really loved by the way) but I feel like it can compete with the batmobile parts And I've heard a lot from people of how disappointed they are of being robbed of good boss fights. But overall I didn't mind one bit and I freaking love this game, and it also got me into Batman (and I got my cousins into DC, consequently lol)
Honestly Professor Pyg is my favorite fight in this game but I don't like any of the bosses in this game that much but Professor Pyg because of the build up and song might make my top ten
I hated professor pyg, his singing was distracting, the dollotrons we're a pain in the ass, and why do you have to counter three knives instead of one? I felt amazing when I performed the environment takedown on porky here.
I like Hood's fight but I wish he was more involved. You can just ignore that side of the room then it's just a better version of the City Deadshot "fight"
Just an idea, imagine if some of the tanks were actually manually piloted so you would have to either hack the tanks to make them on operable or you would have to hit them in a way that wouldn’t kill the pilot but would leave the tank useless. Obviously you could have some canon fodder drones, but I think it would’ve been interesting if there was at least one or two where you’d have to use your brain instead of using your tank.
Jack here, to be honest I think the way to go and the story in general should’ve been based around the Knight destroying Batman’s psyche, for example making him kill. Drone tanks was a lazy story cop out but seriously this game would’ve been much more intriguing from a storytelling perspective if it had a deeper meaning to it over generic “revitalized friendship” or from “bad to good.”
The developers should have, imo, made the Batmobile less tanky and with non lethal weaponry. The few tank battles should be focused around using immobilisation, hacking and EMP on the tanks.
I have to be honest I never had an issue beating the cloudburst bossbattle. I would just sneak up on the tanks, either blow them up or hack them so they can fight for me. Attack and retreat the main boss, and then finally use whatever I have in my weapon system to take down the Arkham Knight in seconds. I think it deserves to be pretty low on the list considering I’m definitely in the minority when it comes to not enjoying it and I 100% see why people would hate it. But I would have to put Deathstroke’s boss below it simply because it’s so out of character. At least the Arkham knight makes sense piloting a tank considering he’s a very technology based combatant. But Deathstroke is meant to be hand to hand. And besides if you don’t use up any of your weapon gauge and the other tanks in deathstrokes fight, once you get to him you can take out deathstroke in about three seconds. It’s so anti-climactic compared to his Arkham Origins fight which was legitimately challenging.
I (Alex) personally found Deathstroke as a boss to be more offensive for the same reason. Jack put the cloudburst lower because he finds the gameplay to be awful, I find it not that hard but definitely not that fun.
Jack here, and spot on take dude, me now would definitely put Deathstroke below the Cloudburst with minimal thought to it but at the time i was thinking in terms of pure enjoyment. Jack here, and that’s pretty fair, I personally thought Knight had the most complex and unique bosses across the board but Origins beats it out in terms of overall boss quality I’d say.
I kinda wish that the deathstroke fight started out the same, but before you grab your pitchforks, I wish ended with an extremely more spiced up version from Origins. Just imagine two martial artists starting on the streets then after the first phase you go into a brawl where you fighting across roof tops making active use of the environment the entire time, and Deathstroke gets twice as more likely to counter your actions throughout the phases making it tougher and tougher. That woulda been perfect
My biggest issue with Cloudburst is that when he spots you, getting away isn't really a skill thing. Sure, you have to avoid his shots, but you can't escape by being good at dodging and weaving. It's just a static timer that magically makes him forget you at the end, which is just lame.
The good thing about the cloudburst boss is that once you take out all four vents, it checkpoints, ao that when you die, you come back with full health. What I usually do is just go nose to nose with it and spam the machine gun until it explodes.
For me, honestly. My favourite boss in this game is Riddler. Bosses in this game are either vehicle chase sequences, tank battles, or a crowd of basic enemies where Batman teams up with a buddy to take them down, so they're not really high competitors for quality. What really sets Riddler apart from the rest of Knight's bosses is the lead-up to him. This bastard has patronized you not just throughout Arkham Knight, but every other game. From when he was a black-mailing police officer in Arkham Origins, to a more experienced Riddler in Arkham Asylum, a cocky nutcase in Arkham City, to a Dr Eggman-like Madman in Arkham Knight. Every game, he has tasked you with finding all of his Riddler trophies and forcing you to do his challenges. In Arkham Knight where he kidnaps Catwoman, continuously taunts you in the endgame and builds an exo-skeleton with the sole purpose to destroy you, that's the last straw. We get a teaser of how the fight functions once you get the last key to free Catwoman and it isn't overly complicated. Once you clear out his squad, he cowers underneath saying for you to solve all 243 Riddler challenges for a rematch. When you do, he actually has you cornered. All the blue robots are down and only the red ones remained (meaning you couldn't hit them as Catwoman), speaking of Catwoman, she pops down for one last visit to really stick it to Nigma. That is where the fun begins. Watching Riddler's actually genius plan crumble before him had me grinning ear to ear. Unlike the fights that share similar mechanics (Killer Croc boss for example), you can't just dive in and feast on every enemy with one particular character. You have to swap in and out between Batman and Catwoman to clear all the robots out based on their colours. (Blue for Batman, Red for Catwoman). All the bosses in Knight may be average at best and disappointing at worst, but this fight felt so worth it finally put away your true nemesis of the Arkham franchise. Not Joker, not Scarecrow, not Penguin, the true threat of the Arkham games, Riddler.
Jack here, and I think that’s about as perfect as you can put it. He’s been obnoxious since the first Predator bit in Asylum up to the very end in his jail cell, so the satisfaction was unreal. Glad you liked the video!
I think the Deathstroke fight is far better because hacked Cobra tanks will actually damage him, in the Cloudburst fight hacked Cobras don't do anything to it and just get destroyed. You also don't need to do the APCs to fight Deathstroke, doing them after the Deathstroke fight's kinda weird because there isn't any militia left to be commanded by the APCs. As for Black Mask, I like to think Joker kidnapping and torturing him during Origins made him into a bitch, that's why he's so pathetic in City and Knight.
Jack here, I never really thought of that until you brought that up! I think the Deathstroke fight is far better than the Cloudburst but either way Deathstroke is extremely easy on his own and dies in like 30 seconds no matter what you do. I think in terms of APCs they just kinda stink normally and even though they aren't required they are to get the Knightfall Protocol, and in terms of Black Mask I think the Joker thing was traumatic but the dudes a hardened criminal so I think the fact that he basically exists as a little tab in both City and Knight is a bit disappointing. Also this response is like a month late either these types of comments are always appreciated!
Y'all slandering my man Eddie smh /j. However I do actually like seeing a boss fight video where people aren't biased by their (rightful) loathing of the 100+ Riddler Trophies you have to get in order to just engage in combat. It's relieving, because the boss fight itself is actually really good.
Jack here, and I totally agree with you. I actually enjoyed the Riddler side quest in Knight, and his Mech was just a cherry on top. City is… well, a different story. Terrible quest, disappointing “boss.”
@@Cytonox I haven't done the riddler stuff in city (well tbf I sorta skipped it) and from what I've seen in let's plays it isn't that fun. Thought in Knight it was fun, I just wish the riddler goons were more common
I believe johnny charisma knowing Bruce's secret id is because the fear toxin slowly transforms the lyrics into hallucination Joker's, whose known the whole time since he's just in your head--especially since he not only knew Babs is "dead" but because Tim doesn't say shit about finding out she'd dies
There are 3 fights against Jason: 1. Cloudburst tank (extremely boring) 2. Drill Machine (essentially a race track maze, but still more fun than the above) 3. Red Hood (one of my favorite fights in this game, but it makes absolutely no sense that Jason would try to fight you with a gun, rather than just hand to hand where he could probably win, or even just ALSO use stealth rather than be up at an obvious stand point and have a few useless goons fight you instead)
I remember playing all of these games and I absolutely loved them but Arkham knight is my fav of the series because Harley Quinn was playable cus she is my fav and I liked that we could use the bat mobile (but I hated tank battles they were the worst) and the map was bigger also that there were a lot of playable characters compared to other games in the series
I liked the tank fights as well as me thinking most do, but when you have like 5000000 of them good God do something else. I get it you want me to use the batmobile
FWIW the unmanned drones was literally explained in the gunship fight, that being Todd wanted Batman to go all out instead of hiding behind his rule. Almost certainly an attempt to get Batman to tire himself out and mess up
I personally love arkham city the most because I grew up with it and love the story but knight has such good gameplay, graphics, open world and just replay ability in general. 2 best superhero games ever
The cloudburst is so easy to beat. Just use a few Wayne tech points on batmobile health and weapons and just drive right in front of the cloudburst and spam both weapons on the circle device for a few seconds and you win
I hate to say it but Jack and I both are pretty skeptical of Gotham Knights from what's been shown. It was a very early game build, but the leveled enemies, ensemble of playable characters, and art style all appear to be forming into a Marvel Avengers type affair which both of us think was a pretty low quality game. There's still time for them to change things, but that trailer that ended with the Mr.Freeze fight looked pretty lame to us.
@@Cytonox We still have to see how it’s gonna be once the main gameplay trailers start coming out, so perhaps they’ll change a few elements of the gameplay. Other than just that, I’m in love with how the story and visuals look, so I’m hopping for it to be good
Speaking of Arkham Knight, the Riddler boss battle is the best in the game imo, because it has a long build up and it's always entertaining to make Riddler rage. My only gripe with it is that it's over way too fast. You handle those droid waves in zero time. The mech's laser is so easy to dodge, it might as well be non-existent. I think it should've been utilized in a more effective way. I'd prefer a much more challenging number of droids or a lot more rounds. I remember the Solomon Grundy fight in City was kinda difficult me, but nothing beats Poison Ivy fight on hard mode in Asylum, that shit was crazy.
The only thing is that the Arkham knight didn’t use manned tank, but remote tanks, because he would still have men alive. Plus his mission at the time was less, destroy the bat, and more, lead the bat into a trap and bring him to scarecrow.
Well realistically speaking with the money he had surely he had more men on deck (as shown by the DLC,) furthermore he knows Batman doesn’t kill so why not force him to do the one thing he refuses? Also on an individual level, as shown when he breaks free from Scarecrow’s plan by using the Cloudburst, Arkham Knight’s only goal was to kill Batman. He didn’t care for Scarecrow.

This dosnt excuse anything ab the fight bc a one in one hand to hand fight with deathstroke would’ve been way better especially with the upgraded fighting mechanics but I’ve always thought the end of the fight where they finally get out of the tanks is supposed to show how Batman’s become so much better at fighting that once they came face to face it was just a quick takedown.
I just have to give you some crap here - I absolutely LOATHE the excavator! LOL It's not that I hate the Batmobile, I just hate that sequence so much. It jumps the shark so hard for me. But y'all did a great video on one of my favorite games - off to watch the others now!
My pick for best boss battle is one that's never in any list. Which is fair, since you can't really lose. But it's the Joker fighting Batman in their own mind at the end of the story! Now that, in my book, is an epic boss battle against the ultimate boss - Batman himself.

what's worse about deathstroke's fight is that he constantly spits dialogue when you take down the militia towers on how he took down a tank with a broken arm, a shotgun l, and 1 shell. It would have been so cool if it alluded to him later to possibly be the second to destroy the bat mobile purely via his hands or skilled marksmanship. I could have imagined afterward you would be able to fight him hand to hand. Arkham knight did not do him justice ;-;
I’m with you, I think the tank should’ve led into a final short bit of his side mission that led into a place of some sort where you’d fight him 1 on 1.
@@Cytonox Exactly. Fight him in a tank battle like normal only for him to manage to disable the Batmobile and force you to either take his tank down similarly from on foot or just go into a hand to hand fight. Taking him down in a single move via cutscene is just insulting.
Why am I actually surprised that the Batgirl DLC was made by WB Montreal? I knew the DLC felt like a little slice of Origins with the cutscenes being way too action-y and well-made to be made by the Rocksteady team (who’s largest amount of effort ever put in a cutscene went to the Arkham Knight reveal at ACE Chem), and the boss fight being actually stellar in the middle of every other one in the game when Origins is the only one with consistently great boss fights.
I really did love the Arkham knight drill fight. It felt like the sneak attack-runaway fight with TN 1 Bane. And admittedly I wasn’t a great batmobile driver, but that really amped up the stakes and actually had me on the edge of my seat while playing it
Wanna know a fun fact about how bad the Militia APCs are? If you catch them before they drive away, you can side swipe it and one shot them, which isn't easy but 100% possible to do But the Cloudburst tank is so much more annoying :,)

@@Cytonox Oh no, actually, side swiping them like the cars they use for backup is enough to take them out... if you hit them into the wall, that is side swipe does massive damage to them, but ramming them into the wall is a one shot, but it's not easy to pull off and needs a bit of timing and accuracy to pull off, I did it once without knowing and intentionally twice, it's how I figured it out again, though, it's not easy since they can aggro so quickly on you, so it's got an RNG element to pull off, but funny if you get it!

@@Cozy_Colin Awesome! But I totally disagree on Mr. Freeze. His fight in City is a fantastic reverb on predator combat, focused on your knowledge of the game and your skill in pressure scenarios, while his fight in Origins is just hot garbage filled with infinitely respawning enemies with no semblance of logical game design in terms of predator. But I 100% agree on Deathstroke he’s the best in Origins and damn near worst in Knight.
5:43 Considering this game has you firing missiles at cars and plugging people's heads into electrical outlets I doubt Batman cares about his rule anymore
I mean yeah but the point wasn’t there should’ve been humans in tanks for the sake of it, rather there should have been a point in the game where Arkham Knight forces Batman to break his morals and kill by putting his own militia in the tanks as like a last defense type scenario.
I personally think deathstrokes fight is worse than the cloud burst. At least the cloud burst didn't have a huge build up to it, was at least a challenge (even though it was bs) and didn't have the most disappointing outcome in the whole game
Here’s a easier way to beat the cloudburst tank boss Step 1: destroy the other few tanks before going after the one Arkham Knight is in Step 2: once you have done that sneak up behind the cloudburst tank, and then hold the button to shoot the bombs and also at the same time hold the one that shoots the machine gun thing or whatever, and try to dodge it’s attacks at the same time, it’s easy,
Jack here, that’s the strat! It’s just poorly made and in turn difficult because of it, I can’t imagine doing this thing without destroying all the Cobras beforehand.
With deathstroke every checkpoint and watchtower you destroy he keeps talking like you are going to have a repeat fight of arkham origins like a proper fist fight and then it turns into a cloudburst repeat it may not be called that but it actually is the same tank except weaker
I'd put Deathstroke BELOW The Cloudburst Tank 1. Deathstroke had such a badass fight in Arkham Origins, and here? He's a pushover 2. Atleast The Cloudburst Tank has a hit-and-run aspect (as bad as it is) 3. The Cloudburst Tank has the AMAZING setting of The City Of Fear
While knight had the weakest boss fights after re-visiting the game I don't wanna tear my eyes out anymore. But it also seems like some of the better fights are from the dlc, which is a bit odd.
Honestly I didn’t like this game at all in my opinion the best boss fight ever was with deathstroke in Arkham origins because it was an actual fight not just some dodge runaway punch and hide
For the cloudburst it's so annoying how often I'll get away, be hidden behind a building 3 streets away.....and the Knight still knows where the fuck I am

Jason already gave a reason as to why his drones aren’t manned. It’s because remotely controlled drones don’t hesitate, they’re not afraid and they don’t hold back. How did you miss this? He literally said this during the first campaign of disarmament mission. Also, what if the tanks hit each other? What a waste of resources.
This game always had me thinking “when am I gonna have a boss fight?” lol, and during the actual encounters, I was always thinking “when am I gonna actually FIGHT the boss?”……it just never happened in this game…..sure, Jason puts your predator skills to the test in a tough, yet still generic predator room, but damn WHY couldn’t HE have been “the fight to finally beat the Deathstroke fight?” Why no hand to hand combat with anything? Making you fight one person in a very particular way….Arkham Origins’ Killer Croc intro fight had more depth than any fight in this entire game!!! You Ultra Stun AAA, then Beatdown YYYYY, THEN IMMEDIATELY DODGE, followed by hitting the tank of fuel with a batarang…..Shiva switched things up between fighting like a ninja enemy type, to fighting like a martial artist type, plus she had armor and no counter icon…..Bane was just awesome lol, both in hand to hand combat AND in stealth combat…Deathstroke needs no explanation, and yeah, he was mostly a cutscene, but it was COOL….Arkham Knight was just lazy with boss encounters…..I’ll never forgive Rocksteady for making such an awesome game while failing so miserably at unique bosses…..and I’m still kinda sore over Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and other playable characters still not being used much in the story, and no Bat Cave….oh well, still a great game, better than pretty much anything I’ve seen on current Gen consoles which is sad lol
The deathstroke tank fight is by far worse than the cloud burst one. You have a fully upgraded batmobile with which you can cheese the deathstroke fight with ease OR you could hack the cobras and literally do nothing. Also I didn't fight the narrow streets an issue, actually it makes the cloud burst fight good since any other settint would've made it way too easy and the camera angle change made the chase feel better
5:36 we learn from thug and militia dialogue that the Bat-mobile/tank we use in this game is brand new and beforehand it was just the mobile so that’s why
The arkham knight bosses honestly feel like a major downgrade compared to City. (Not mentioning origins cause that was developed not by rocksteady) The fact that the scarecrow "Boss fight" is a challenge map locked exclusively on the playstation should be considered a crime.
I don't know if this makes me dumb but I overly enjoyed everything in this game. Yes, I've played Return to Arkham (both games), yes, I've seen the movies, YES I've seen shows too. But for some reason I couldn't even tell the Arkham Knight was Jason Todd (although at the time I didn't know much about DC, I thought there was only one Robin) and I didn't mind the tank parts at all. Call me stupid or whatever but I totally didn't find a single. Bad. Thing. In this game. Yeah-

@@Cytonox yes you're absolutely correct. And of course there's no denying that the game has some flaws *flashes dirty looks at Deathstroke tank boss fight* but that's in everything you look at. So, if one ignores the little bit of logic that's lacking in certain situations and wipes endless tears playing the game on Knightmare they'll have a great time. Thank you for responding!

The thing is with the argument to just put a person in each of the tanks, Batman would find a way to overcome that, like the with the apc vehicles. Batman would just some how disable the tanks instead of destroying them, in my eyes that’s less exciting than blowing up the tanks…
im a simple guy, if a boss fight makes me laugh i’ll most probably enjoy it more, Joker singing whilst Robin defuses bombs is my favourite one, probably due to nostalgia having growing up watching Mark Hamill voice the Joker.
That Cloud burst tank was so irritating. I literally tried to beat that shit So many times i think I spent weeks on that boss. Then a few weeks ago I beat that shit first try by the skin of my teeth (I had like 1 bar of health left) It's a bad boss sure but after that the rest of the game felt too easy... Well except for riddlers mission where you have to drive and do a bunch of weird shit to pass.
To be honest, I think cloudburst is better than a deathstroke because it has more uniqueness to it because of the hit and runs, but the death stroke is just hit hit hit hit done
Maybe I was lucky or my standards are low I actually liked playing all the boss battles in the game. In fact the game to me was very fun and basically only the final fight in Catwoman's DLC Episode was what I would say is bad.

I actually shook him off before his bar depleted once. I do not remember how, but I remember that when I did, the bar just emptied automatically.
Its called a 'challenge' as compared to the fairly easy bosses of the rest of the game

Batmobile stealth doesn’t feel natural, agreed. I like stealth bosses generally but this one specifically was hot garbage.

The drill was the hardest ngl. I still dont like the fact how overused batmobile was in this game. Drill was hard only because of its speed.

The drill sequence gave me the same feelings of panic that the killer croc levels did in asylum
Just an idea, imagine if some of the tanks were actually manually piloted so you would have to either hack the tanks to make them on operable or you would have to hit them in a way that wouldn’t kill the pilot but would leave the tank useless.
Obviously you could have some canon fodder drones, but I think it would’ve been interesting if there was at least one or two where you’d have to use your brain instead of using your tank.
Jack here, to be honest I think the way to go and the story in general should’ve been based around the Knight destroying Batman’s psyche, for example making him kill. Drone tanks was a lazy story cop out but seriously this game would’ve been much more intriguing from a storytelling perspective if it had a deeper meaning to it over generic “revitalized friendship” or from “bad to good.”
The developers should have, imo, made the Batmobile less tanky and with non lethal weaponry.
The few tank battles should be focused around using immobilisation, hacking and EMP on the tanks.
I have to be honest I never had an issue beating the cloudburst bossbattle.
I would just sneak up on the tanks, either blow them up or hack them so they can fight for me. Attack and retreat the main boss, and then finally use whatever I have in my weapon system to take down the Arkham Knight in seconds.
I think it deserves to be pretty low on the list considering I’m definitely in the minority when it comes to not enjoying it and I 100% see why people would hate it.
But I would have to put Deathstroke’s boss below it simply because it’s so out of character. At least the Arkham knight makes sense piloting a tank considering he’s a very technology based combatant. But Deathstroke is meant to be hand to hand. And besides if you don’t use up any of your weapon gauge and the other tanks in deathstrokes fight, once you get to him you can take out deathstroke in about three seconds.
It’s so anti-climactic compared to his Arkham Origins fight which was legitimately challenging.
I (Alex) personally found Deathstroke as a boss to be more offensive for the same reason. Jack put the cloudburst lower because he finds the gameplay to be awful, I find it not that hard but definitely not that fun.
Jack here, and spot on take dude, me now would definitely put Deathstroke below the Cloudburst with minimal thought to it but at the time i was thinking in terms of pure enjoyment. I kinda wish that the deathstroke fight started out the same, but before you grab your pitchforks, I wish ended with an extremely more spiced up version from Origins. Just imagine two martial artists starting on the streets then after the first phase you go into a brawl where you fighting across roof tops making active use of the environment the entire time, and Deathstroke gets twice as more likely to counter your actions throughout the phases making it tougher and tougher. That woulda been perfect
My biggest issue with Cloudburst is that when he spots you, getting away isn't really a skill thing. Sure, you have to avoid his shots, but you can't escape by being good at dodging and weaving. It's just a static timer that magically makes him forget you at the end, which is just lame.

The good thing about the cloudburst boss is that once you take out all four vents, it checkpoints, ao that when you die, you come back with full health. What I usually do is just go nose to nose with it and spam the machine gun until it explodes.

For me, honestly. My favourite boss in this game is Riddler.
Bosses in this game are either vehicle chase sequences, tank battles, or a crowd of basic enemies where Batman teams up with a buddy to take them down, so they're not really high competitors for quality. What really sets Riddler apart from the rest of Knight's bosses is the lead-up to him. This bastard has patronized you not just throughout Arkham Knight, but every other game. From when he was a black-mailing police officer in Arkham Origins, to a more experienced Riddler in Arkham Asylum, a cocky nutcase in Arkham City, to a Dr Eggman-like Madman in Arkham Knight. Every game, he has tasked you with finding all of his Riddler trophies and forcing you to do his challenges. In Arkham Knight where he kidnaps Catwoman, continuously taunts you in the endgame and builds an exo-skeleton with the sole purpose to destroy you, that's the last straw. We get a teaser of how the fight functions once you get the last key to free Catwoman and it isn't overly complicated. Once you clear out his squad, he cowers underneath saying for you to solve all 243 Riddler challenges for a rematch. When you do, he actually has you cornered. All the blue robots are down and only the red ones remained (meaning you couldn't hit them as Catwoman), speaking of Catwoman, she pops down for one last visit to really stick it to Nigma. That is where the fun begins. Watching Riddler's actually genius plan crumble before him had me grinning ear to ear. Unlike the fights that share similar mechanics (Killer Croc boss for example), you can't just dive in and feast on every enemy with one particular character. You have to swap in and out between Batman and Catwoman to clear all the robots out based on their colours. (Blue for Batman, Red for Catwoman).
All the bosses in Knight may be average at best and disappointing at worst, but this fight felt so worth it finally put away your true nemesis of the Arkham franchise. Not Joker, not Scarecrow, not Penguin, the true threat of the Arkham games, Riddler.
Jack here, and I think that’s about as perfect as you can put it. He’s been obnoxious since the first Predator bit in Asylum up to the very end in his jail cell, so the satisfaction was unreal. Glad you liked the video!

I think the Deathstroke fight is far better because hacked Cobra tanks will actually damage him, in the Cloudburst fight hacked Cobras don't do anything to it and just get destroyed. You also don't need to do the APCs to fight Deathstroke, doing them after the Deathstroke fight's kinda weird because there isn't any militia left to be commanded by the APCs. As for Black Mask, I like to think Joker kidnapping and torturing him during Origins made him into a bitch, that's why he's so pathetic in City and Knight.
Jack here, I never really thought of that until you brought that up! I think the Deathstroke fight is far better than the Cloudburst but either way Deathstroke is extremely easy on his own and dies in like 30 seconds no matter what you do. I think in terms of APCs they just kinda stink normally and even though they aren't required they are to get the Knightfall Protocol, and in terms of Black Mask I think the Joker thing was traumatic but the dudes a hardened criminal so I think the fact that he basically exists as a little tab in both City and Knight is a bit disappointing. Also this response is like a month late either these types of comments are always appreciated!
Black Mask is a horrible DC villain anyway.

There are 3 fights against Jason:
1. Cloudburst tank (extremely boring)
2. Drill Machine (essentially a race track maze, but still more fun than the above)
3. Red Hood (one of my favorite fights in this game, but it makes absolutely no sense that Jason would try to fight you with a gun, rather than just hand to hand where he could probably win, or even just ALSO use stealth rather than be up at an obvious stand point and have a few useless goons fight you instead)
I remember playing all of these games and I absolutely loved them but Arkham knight is my fav of the series because Harley Quinn was playable cus she is my fav and I liked that we could use the bat mobile (but I hated tank battles they were the worst) and the map was bigger also that there were a lot of playable characters compared to other games in the series

The cloudburst is so easy to beat. Just use a few Wayne tech points on batmobile health and weapons and just drive right in front of the cloudburst and spam both weapons on the circle device for a few seconds and you win

I hate to say it but Jack and I both are pretty skeptical of Gotham Knights from what's been shown. It was a very early game build, but the leveled enemies, ensemble of playable characters, and art style all appear to be forming into a Marvel Avengers type affair which both of us think was a pretty low quality game. There's still time for them to change things, but that trailer that ended with the Mr.Freeze fight looked pretty lame to us.

Speaking of Arkham Knight, the Riddler boss battle is the best in the game imo, because it has a long build up and it's always entertaining to make Riddler rage. My only gripe with it is that it's over way too fast. You handle those droid waves in zero time. The mech's laser is so easy to dodge, it might as well be non-existent. I think it should've been utilized in a more effective way. I'd prefer a much more challenging number of droids or a lot more rounds. I remember the Solomon Grundy fight in City was kinda difficult me, but nothing beats Poison Ivy fight on hard mode in Asylum, that shit was crazy.
The only thing is that the Arkham knight didn’t use manned tank, but remote tanks, because he would still have men alive. Plus his mission at the time was less, destroy the bat, and more, lead the bat into a trap and bring him to scarecrow.
Well realistically speaking with the money he had surely he had more men on deck (as shown by the DLC,) furthermore he knows Batman doesn’t kill so why not force him to do the one thing he refuses? Also on an individual level, as shown when he breaks free from Scarecrow’s plan by using the Cloudburst, Arkham Knight’s only goal was to kill Batman. He didn’t care for Scarecrow.

My pick for best boss battle is one that's never in any list. Which is fair, since you can't really lose. But it's the Joker fighting Batman in their own mind at the end of the story! Now that, in my book, is an epic boss battle against the ultimate boss - Batman himself.

what's worse about deathstroke's fight is that he constantly spits dialogue when you take down the militia towers on how he took down a tank with a broken arm, a shotgun l, and 1 shell.
It would have been so cool if it alluded to him later to possibly be the second to destroy the bat mobile purely via his hands or skilled marksmanship. I could have imagined afterward you would be able to fight him hand to hand. Arkham knight did not do him justice ;-;

@@Cytonox Exactly. Fight him in a tank battle like normal only for him to manage to disable the Batmobile and force you to either take his tank down similarly from on foot or just go into a hand to hand fight. Taking him down in a single move via cutscene is just insulting.
Why am I actually surprised that the Batgirl DLC was made by WB Montreal? I knew the DLC felt like a little slice of Origins with the cutscenes being way too action-y and well-made to be made by the Rocksteady team (who’s largest amount of effort ever put in a cutscene went to the Arkham Knight reveal at ACE Chem), and the boss fight being actually stellar in the middle of every other one in the game when Origins is the only one with consistently great boss fights.
I really did love the Arkham knight drill fight. It felt like the sneak attack-runaway fight with TN 1 Bane. And admittedly I wasn’t a great batmobile driver, but that really amped up the stakes and actually had me on the edge of my seat while playing it

@@Cytonox Oh no, actually, side swiping them like the cars they use for backup is enough to take them out... if you hit them into the wall, that is
side swipe does massive damage to them, but ramming them into the wall is a one shot, but it's not easy to pull off and needs a bit of timing and accuracy to pull off, I did it once without knowing and intentionally twice, it's how I figured it out
again, though, it's not easy since they can aggro so quickly on you, so it's got an RNG element to pull off, but funny if you get it!

His fight in City is a fantastic reverb on predator combat, focused on your knowledge of the game and your skill in pressure scenarios, while his fight in Origins is just hot garbage filled with infinitely respawning enemies with no semblance of logical game design in terms of predator. But I 100% agree on Deathstroke he’s the best in Origins and damn near worst in Knight.

I personally think deathstrokes fight is worse than the cloud burst. At least the cloud burst didn't have a huge build up to it, was at least a challenge (even though it was bs) and didn't have the most disappointing outcome in the whole game

Here’s a easier way to beat the cloudburst tank boss
Step 1: destroy the other few tanks before going after the one Arkham Knight is in
Step 2: once you have done that sneak up behind the cloudburst tank, and then hold the button to shoot the bombs and also at the same time hold the one that shoots the machine gun thing or whatever, and try to dodge it’s attacks at the same time, it’s easy,
Jack here, that’s the strat! It’s just poorly made and in turn difficult because of it, I can’t imagine doing this thing without destroying all the Cobras beforehand.

With deathstroke every checkpoint and watchtower you destroy he keeps talking like you are going to have a repeat fight of arkham origins like a proper fist fight and then it turns into a cloudburst repeat it may not be called that but it actually is the same tank except weaker

While knight had the weakest boss fights after re-visiting the game I don't wanna tear my eyes out anymore. But it also seems like some of the better fights are from the dlc, which is a bit odd.

Jason already gave a reason as to why his drones aren’t manned. It’s because remotely controlled drones don’t hesitate, they’re not afraid and they don’t hold back. How did you miss this? He literally said this during the first campaign of disarmament mission. Also, what if the tanks hit each other? What a waste of resources.
This game always had me thinking “when am I gonna have a boss fight?” lol, and during the actual encounters, I was always thinking “when am I gonna actually FIGHT the boss?”……it just never happened in this game…..sure, Jason puts your predator skills to the test in a tough, yet still generic predator room, but damn WHY couldn’t HE have been “the fight to finally beat the Deathstroke fight?” Why no hand to hand combat with anything? Making you fight one person in a very particular way….Arkham Origins’ Killer Croc intro fight had more depth than any fight in this entire game!!! You Ultra Stun AAA, then Beatdown YYYYY, THEN IMMEDIATELY DODGE, followed by hitting the tank of fuel with a batarang…..Shiva switched things up between fighting like a ninja enemy type, to fighting like a martial artist type, plus she had armor and no counter icon…..Bane was just awesome lol, both in hand to hand combat AND in stealth combat…Deathstroke needs no explanation, and yeah, he was mostly a cutscene, but it was COOL….Arkham Knight was just lazy with boss encounters…..I’ll never forgive Rocksteady for making such an awesome game while failing so miserably at unique bosses…..and I’m still kinda sore over Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and other playable characters still not being used much in the story, and no Bat Cave….oh well, still a great game, better than pretty much anything I’ve seen on current Gen consoles which is sad lol
The deathstroke tank fight is by far worse than the cloud burst one. You have a fully upgraded batmobile with which you can cheese the deathstroke fight with ease OR you could hack the cobras and literally do nothing. Also I didn't fight the narrow streets an issue, actually it makes the cloud burst fight good since any other settint would've made it way too easy and the camera angle change made the chase feel better

The fact that the scarecrow "Boss fight" is a challenge map locked exclusively on the playstation should be considered a crime.
I don't know if this makes me dumb but I overly enjoyed everything in this game. Yes, I've played Return to Arkham (both games), yes, I've seen the movies, YES I've seen shows too. But for some reason I couldn't even tell the Arkham Knight was Jason Todd (although at the time I didn't know much about DC, I thought there was only one Robin) and I didn't mind the tank parts at all. Call me stupid or whatever but I totally didn't find a single. Bad. Thing. In this game.

Hey man, I agree! I mean, the story was pretty obvious but the Batmobile, while overdone, was about as perfect as they could’ve made it and this game is for sure the highest quality overall i’d say as well. - Jack
@@Cytonox yes you're absolutely correct. And of course there's no denying that the game has some flaws *flashes dirty looks at Deathstroke tank boss fight* but that's in everything you look at. So, if one ignores the little bit of logic that's lacking in certain situations and wipes endless tears playing the game on Knightmare they'll have a great time. Thank you for responding!
I really like the Cloudburst for all the reasons u mentioned. It is terrifying and I love it.

It's weird how two face took multiple takedowns in AC to defeat but in knight he's just a normal enemy. More realistic sure but way less memorable
Jason didn’t man the helicopter because he didn’t want Batman to hold back he said that in a line of dialogue I think but that’s why he doesn’t man any of the drones.

The thing is with the argument to just put a person in each of the tanks, Batman would find a way to overcome that, like the with the apc vehicles. Batman would just some how disable the tanks instead of destroying them, in my eyes that’s less exciting than blowing up the tanks…
I’m with you, I’m just more speaking from an in-game, storytelling perspective in that regard.
im a simple guy, if a boss fight makes me laugh i’ll most probably enjoy it more, Joker singing whilst Robin defuses bombs is my favourite one, probably due to nostalgia having growing up watching Mark Hamill voice the Joker.
In the riddler tunnel under the studio for some reason the cloudburst can’t enter there so go there to hide

That Cloud burst tank was so irritating. I literally tried to beat that shit So many times i think I spent weeks on that boss. Then a few weeks ago I beat that shit first try by the skin of my teeth (I had like 1 bar of health left)
It's a bad boss sure but after that the rest of the game felt too easy... Well except for riddlers mission where you have to drive and do a bunch of weird shit to pass.
To be honest, I think cloudburst is better than a deathstroke because it has more uniqueness to it because of the hit and runs, but the death stroke is just hit hit hit hit done
Maybe I was lucky or my standards are low I actually liked playing all the boss battles in the game. In fact the game to me was very fun and basically only the final fight in Catwoman's DLC Episode was what I would say is bad.
