MAGNIFICENT , ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT , there's not enough good adjectives to describe how well done this is ! it's one of the greatest works of art of all time ! ( the scene of Gulliver dragging the boats alone is a visual masterpiece as well as the drawings of Glory and David and so many other single drawings , great works of art in themselves , but he total impact is completely overwhelming , always to the point of tears and sobs , especially when you think of the time when it was done , before a war that nearly destroyed the world ! the late 1930's was a time of unsurpassed genius , as if before such devastation there was a time of such great truth and beauty that it would not be forgotten in the nightmare which was to follow !
When my brother and I were seeing this once,a friend of my brother's came and saw the last part. He asked,"Why are they fighting a war?" When I replied,"They couldn't decide what song to sing at a ceremony,"he looked surprised. As this movie(and the original book)showed, wars can be fought for insignificant reasons.
When Mom and I saw this movie together(I was 6/7) I felt bad that Snitch and Gabby were crying so hard at the end. They did stop and wave as Gulliver sailed away, however. I noticed that the second time I saw this movie with Mom. It was run on television every year for a long time.
Fleischer artists, created a vanishing point with Gulliver sailing away, that I have never seen matched. Then or today by any other Studio. Look at how he fades into the mist waving. Also the skyline is mesmerizing. It is a strong grasp of making 2-Dimensional drawing appear to be 3-dimensional.
Thanks for posting this movie. I remember watching it every Thanksgiving day when I was little. What a wonderful trip down memory lane!

Gulliver will always have Lilliput and Blefuscu in his heart.
