Very important tip when installing python that wasn't mentioned in the video. Make sure to check the box at the bottom that says "Add Python "your version" to PATH" otherwise you will not be able to run python in CMD.

Super late but go to your Windows (C) search bar and type in python and it should pop up as Python38. I just had the same issue and this worked for me to finding it

Hey, when type in the pip install bcml command it says "invalad syntax" Edit: I got it to install but it says "This is an issue with the package mentioned above, not pip."
Hard to find people to get help with this so might as well try here. Having a real hard time installing BCML. Update and DLC directories just won't get a green checkmark even though they have the exact same path as CEMU does so not even sure what to do with it.
make sure when you install python that you check the PATH at the bottom and then you also go to customize installation > next > and check install for all users this fixed my problems hope it helps
Great video, unfortunately though i have some issues installing BCML. Whenever i "do pip install bcml" it gives me an error saying "Could not build wheels for bcml, which is required to install pyproject.toml-based projects" I havent been able to figure it out yet, anyone who has some information that could help would be much appreciated.

Had this problem as well. Make sure you go into the actual python folder and then script. If you're like me, I had a script folder in my root C: which was a different folder. Hit the windows key and search for python. Then right click and hit properties. That will give you a popup with the location of the actual python folder. Then Scripts should be in there. I also have multiple versions of python so if you do as well, make sure to check the correct version folder that you installed bcml in. Hope this helps.

weird problem, but after installing and resintalling BOTW through USB Helper, I noticed that my BOTW folder did not come with a content folder and even a completely different name than the one you have. As such, I can't set the BCML directory to accept the proper game, dlc, and update folders despite the game running just fine and working on it's own. Any idea why that is?

Oh of course YOU didnt need to install rustup or microsoft visual studio or any of the other 50+ requirements and none of the comments mention this
BCML only works with python 3.8. Those requirements pop up if you use a more recent version in which BCML does not work.

The update and dlc are their own directory. I’m pretty sure you need them to run the game in the first place

Manual instal of python was not recognized by CMD even when enabling py so the alternative was to get a similar 3.8 from the microsdot store
Its because when you launch the installer you're supposed to click add python to path at the bottom, or else it wont work

In Cemu settings, under graphics packs, there is a drop down list for mods. Make sure BCML is checked

for the bcml my fix was personally installing 3.8.8 then using non admin cmd then just typing "pip install bcml" then it worked :)

I solved my problem, I had installed a Portuguese translation for the game, when I disabled it, the game opened normally with mod
