@@rudrasingh6354 While it cant do anything before the rendering of the image, it still gets some information about depth from the game rendering engine, so its a little better than photoshop if configured correctly
It looks to me all the "shader" mod did was increase the contrast, not add any detail. Because switching between original and modded it just removes the white smokey screen really. Yes of course it looks better, but I don't think it's like so much better I love it.
I think it's also being AI upscaled. If you look on the rocks in the background when he initially switches between modded and un-modded, there's a lot more detail in them, whereas in the base game they look more like clay from where he was standing After looking a little closer, you can also see more detail in the shadows, which is why there's weird shading on people's faces. The problem with that is that they're still cel-shaded, so they aren't meant to be so detailed Not you *can* turn that off with mods, and replace them with actual shadow... but he didn't

i think it takes away the effect that are supposed to keep things in the spirit of cartoons, and for me, it almost ruins it. I think id rather just play in 1080 at 144fps and be happy

This mod looks beautiful. The moment right after the polygon look at 2:25 where you said let's turn it back to "normal" made me laugh, bc in CG the polygon images we work looking it is actually referred to as a "normal map". It made him look like an action figure. The original blended better with environment, like they were made for each other, same universe, this looks a bit out of place, although you can only notice from up close. Overall, I don’t see this mod as an improvement apart from the occasional rays of light you can see during sunset. All this game needs is 4k 60FPS and elements loading from farther away, like the bushes and NPCs that spawn when you get close to them
what if you were practically a god controlling an entire kingdom, unrivaled by any, and a man with no pants marches into your castle, kills your children, and starts staring at you, starts saying “that’s so crisp, so crisp” repeatedly with his fingers like this.(👌 )

@@inv41id Totally agreed. I feel like I'd prefer the modded version if it was how the game always was, but as it is right now, the colors of the game are exactly what I think of when I think about the game's visual style, and this mod loses a lot of that.
FR, it's not very impressive looking. The only part that was interesting was seeing the light reflections from the blupees. It lost some of the more interesting color grading, like the blues and greens in different areas. Also contextless shots of the normal game is completely unrepresentative of the experience
@@crimsoninsight97 do you realize how amazingly this speaks on Nintendo's original engine for breath of the wild? Even upscaling the lighting and graphics barely make a dent. The original already holds up so beautifully
@@crimsoninsight97 The one thing I did like about it was that I feel like it's easier to see? If that makes any sense? Like BOTW sometimes feels like it's in a phone filter, like Bloom or something.

I agree with you! I'm not as impressed only because I was expecting something different. It's still beautifully detailed and looks great; however this just proves good design doesn't require major detail. The BEST designs, in my opinion, are ones that don't show excessive realism, but artfully select the most necessary visual interest.

Digging your BOTW stuff. Just picked up an OLED switch in December and this is all i've been playing since. Re-doing everything in Master Mode now. :)
7:33 this close up of link really sells it for me.
Reminds me of Twilight Princess
I actually really don't like it for some reason.
@The YoungDefiant Plug Okay, you are like, the 6th person I saw in three days who had a P5 Joker pfp. Not that I'm complaining (I love Persona 5 too) But why???
It made him look like an action figure. The original blended better with environment, like they were made for each other, same universe, this looks a bit out of place, although you can only notice from up close. Overall, I don’t see this mod as an improvement apart from the occasional rays of light you can see during sunset. All this game needs is 4k 60FPS and elements loading from farther away, like the bushes and NPCs that spawn when you get close to them

“That’s pretty cool”

👌
@A B changed it don’t worry
"Modding Breath of the Wild to be as realistic as possible"

That one guy at 3:30 who is like "HeS nOt PlAyInG iN mAsTeR mOdE?" Made me laugh way harder than I should have
Alternate title: Making the most beautiful game in the world even more beautiful
what if you were practically a god controlling an entire kingdom, unrivaled by any, and a man with no pants marches into your castle, kills your children, and starts staring at you, starts saying “that’s so crisp, so crisp” repeatedly with his fingers like this.(👌 )
Breath of the Wild but Crow says “wowwwww” “so beautiful” for 21 minutes and 50 seconds
His enthusiasm is so wholesome, I was more invested in his reactions than I was in the mods by the end
Huge shout out to the editor for making the differences visible and comparing things. It makes this so much more cool
Is it just me that prefers the original? It just looks so dark when it’s “updated” and doesn’t look like too much (outside of the darkness) even changed.
i agree :/
Personally, I really like it. The colours on the original are just way too washed out.
Originally I couldn’t notice a difference until he showed the images side by side. Though when in rain or looking at characters I can see a difference
The modded version kinda kills a lot of the art direction of the original
@@inv41id Totally agreed. I feel like I'd prefer the modded version if it was how the game always was, but as it is right now, the colors of the game are exactly what I think of when I think about the game's visual style, and this mod loses a lot of that.
"I wish there were less of you" -just going to borrow that insult for my vocabulary real quick.
Mom can we have revali’s gale?
No, we have revali’s gale at home
Revali’s gale at home: 15:29
Me: wow this is gonna be cool! Pointcrow: I just turned up the contrast
FR, it's not very impressive looking. The only part that was interesting was seeing the light reflections from the blupees. It lost some of the more interesting color grading, like the blues and greens in different areas. Also contextless shots of the normal game is completely unrepresentative of the experience
@@crimsoninsight97 also the old mans face really wasnt that impressive lol
@@crimsoninsight97 do you realize how amazingly this speaks on Nintendo's original engine for breath of the wild? Even upscaling the lighting and graphics barely make a dent. The original already holds up so beautifully
@@crimsoninsight97 The one thing I did like about it was that I feel like it's easier to see? If that makes any sense? Like BOTW sometimes feels like it's in a phone filter, like Bloom or something.

I love how he called it “Sidon” instead of the zora
"Let's go see Gerudo."
"Let's look at Lurelin."
"Let's go to Death Mountain."
"OK now let's go see Sidon."
The pcrow cult has a fetish for Sidon therefore the only Zora that matters is Sidon and maybe mipha
@@Tater_Lord We are not a cult. We are definitely not a cult.
Prince Sidon is the only Zora that matters that's why.
My first time coming back to your channel since you were under 30k subs. Crazy. I'm glad you are living your best life.
Removing the sun glare doesn't make it look better. Its just a drop in saturation
Would like to express my support for the black and white run
9:16 Ah yes, a heart container. My favorite weapon to use against enemies.
How the hell does he have that
I’m pretty sure turning off cel shading would make it even more realistic but Ngl I love the cel shaded look
3:47 "Look at the detail" reminds me of Bethesda's "16 times the detail"
When you realise we're simping over the sky quality:
Damn that comparison is trippy. Didn’t realize Link’s clothes are stripped away once the extra frames and pixels are added
Hi cj
@@PointCrow hi PointCrow, big fan
Make a Canadian version, you must take your trousers off before entering a building or death, it’s always cold, and the only food is : poutine (3 hearts) elixirs are maple syrup, and wooly sweaters are the most protective
“It’s hard to make water look good” I can think of many games with amazing water, especially Mario sunshine
Doesn’t mean it isn’t hard!
what mod or preset is this ?
True, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy
sky children of the light a mobile game has amazing water aswell
I am confused.. Is the water in BOTW not already look good?
prettttyyy
Oh, its you!
hhHHHH
the video from you is AMAZING
I see you, youtuber

Looks amazing! The before and after shots are really nice too!
Crow: Look at those DETAILS! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Me watching at 144p: bRUh
*sad 2015 ipod touch w/2g wifi noises*
I'm gonna be perfectly honest; I hardly see a difference. They look basically the same to me.
But then, I've never been one to care about graphical quality.
Don't take that the wrong way, I"m simply saying that BotW is always pretty to me.
I agree with you! I'm not as impressed only because I was expecting something different.
It's still beautifully detailed and looks great; however this just proves good design doesn't require major detail. The BEST designs, in my opinion, are ones that don't show excessive realism, but artfully select the most necessary visual interest.
I agree... I just think the normal version looks like more dusty.
Did u watch in 1080 p ?
"We'll turn it back to... normal"
But it was already on "normals" mode 🤔
beat me to it
This.
something about this just brings out every bit of serotonin in my brain
2:52 kinda looks like the telltale art style
True
Editor did a hell of a job :)
I’m surprised he did this. I wish I had an editor... please somebody help me out.
We need a limbo playthrough
Definitely, needs to be a video
Feels so good to come back to come back to this series after taking a break from it for awhile. No video game series makes me more happy than Zelda does.
