One of my favourite scenes is when they’re driving the van away after tricking those guys at the diner and Jim Carrey says “yeah I seen it in a movie, they end catching up to the guys about a half mile down the road and slit their throats” 😂
That was a reference to an early Jeff Daniels (Harry) film called Something Wild. He basically did the same thing to the bad guy (Ray Liotta in his 1st film role), but Ray DID catch up with him soon after. Fun movie, worth a watch.
7:11 Flo was a sassy waitress at the diner featured in an old 1970s-'80s T.V. sitcom called Alice. Her catchphrase was when she told customers "Kiss my grits." ("Grits" is a food common in the American south made from corn. It's somewhat similar to cream of wheat, oatmeal, or rice.)
A T.V. sitcom based on a Martin Scorsese movie: "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore."
She saw My Cousin Vinny recently so she is up to speed on grits. 😄
Flo was so popular, she even got a spin-off show. Only ran for a couple of seasons due to indecisive scheduling. Totaled 29 episodes, though, which is pretty decent.
@@BoSmith7045 Good point! 🤔 5-minute grits, if I remember correctly.
@@0okamino After that actress Polly Hollliday's career tanked and she changed her name to Diane Kinerk and worked as a waitress at a truck stop in Ft Morgan, Colorado
31:21 "Even I would go!" LOL I can't blame you!
Dasha's reaction to "pull over" 20x funnier 🤣
When the bad guy is in the van with them and starts screaming "GUYS! GUYS!" trying to get them to shut up; that was the actor breaking character, it wasn't a part of the script. He legitimately lost it at Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels because they were annoying him so much 🤣
Gas man has got no chill
He should have gotten hazard pay..
Lol!😂😂😂
The most annoying thing you ever heard part was improvised by Jim Carrey.
Or when he puncjed that dude through the payphone that was also unscripted lol
They filmed part of this in Denver. While they were filming, my dad was there working on a freeway. He was the only one not int he film cast or crew staying at that hotel. he ended up hanging out with Mike Starr (Mental) in the evenings.
My wife an I quote this movie a lot. if we can't remember someone's name, we'll try a few, then snap out fingers and say "Samsonite!" When my car radio died we'd just start singing Mocking Bird." Whenever it's called for one of us (usually me) will say "Your hands are FREEZING." The "Are those your skis?" bit triggered an asthma attack. So many great lines.
Another movie with a similar feel overall is So I Married an Axe Murderer.
Mary's blonde female friend is the actress Teri Garr who played the hot blonde lab assistant in the movie Young Frankenstein.
I think she played her mom or stepmom.
@@dustman820 some form of personal or familial relation
Yeah, Harry and especially Lloyd come across a lot more dickish in this extended edition.
You can see why that stuff was cut from the final film. The theatrical cut does a better job of making them just look like well-meaning guys who don't know any better.
I've noticed that with the extended cuts of Kingpin and There's Something About Mary, too. They just come across more mean-spirited than the theatrical versions.
i only watch the theatrical cut. i also think part 2 catches all that mean spirited attitude and the directors forgot why this movie is a gem.
10:30 "He's the funniest man in his imagination."... *THAT'S* funny 😆
7:52 The guy who plays “Sea Bass” is Cam Neely, an NHL Hall of Famer & the current president of the Boston Bruins. One of the best power forwards in hockey history. He was a legit ‘tough guy’. 6’3” 235lbs, but also was a great scorer. He’s a legend.
The directors are from New England (northeastern part of the US) & like the sports teams there. So in a lot of their movies they cast pro athletes from the Boston area in small roles.
One of my favorite all time hockey players!
Not just one of the best power forwards, he's the guy who made power forward a thing. Neely is my all-time favorite Bruin.
I would love if Dasha would react to the other two Jim Carrey movies that put him on the map in 1994. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask.
I know how she felt with the cop and the "beer" scene. Mine was in the Fred Savage and Howie Mandel movie, Little Monsters. Howie's character did it to a bully kid's apple juice. I didn't want apple juice for awhile after that.
I know this bucks popular opinion, but for me, those two movies are some of Jim Carrey's worst. Just too over the top for me.
@@ajschroetlin2196 they don't hold up as well as this one but they were important to his career
@@dustywaynemusic6297 I donno how to even gauge that considering Jim Carrey's entire film persona is being simultaneously pyscho and a severely handicapped on the spectrum
Also would love if she covers Cable Guy.
@@ajschroetlin2196 agree with you on ace Ventura but the mask is well balanced
Flo was the mame of a waitress in a famous TV show from the 80's. The show was titled ALICE.
Seabass was a professional hockey player in NHL when this was filmed. He’s currently an executive in the NHL
Hope his coworkers prank him by leaving that manly love note in the stall he's using. 😆 🤣
LMAO Squeezing the lemon always makes me laugh. Its just so unexpected and you have do a double take 😂
Sea Bass was played by NHL hall of famer cam Neely. The Farrelly brothers, who made this movie, often place athletes in small roles in their movies.
You may not have recognized her, but Mary's mother is played by Teri Garr (Inga from Young Frankenstein). Understandable, as it was nearly 20 years between movies.
When we were teenagers, I had a best friend when this movie came out, and while we were not to the level of these 2, it was relatable in a lot of ways. Glad to see you really liked this movie. It has always been one of my favs.
Okay. Which one of you had the worms?
*Had* a best friend? :(
@@winstonmarlowe5254 I guess he got the worms.
That was an awesome reaction, Dasha - thank you! There is also a part 2 … when I watched it I almost cried when I saw the first seconds of the movie - the same actors playing the roles, both Harry and Lloyd, only 20 years older … I think the blind kid was also the same actor from 20 years before, plus - you’ll get to know Fraida Felcher. Watching comedies suits you perfectly, Dasha … you made my day, so again many thanks. Stay safe and take care. Salutations from Romania …
Dumb and Dumber To is really good. Not as good as the first, but still funny AF.
"... our pet's HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!!" I love the hot pepper scene with trying to cool their mouths with mustard and ketchup.
I find for chilli burn you can't go wrong with mayonnaise
Harry & Lloyd are like SpongeBob & Patrick.
Yes, they’re. But, they remind of beavis and butthead.
Actually, Ted & John (Ted 1&2) are Beavis & Butthead.
@@joshuacampbell7493 👌🏻
Sea Bass, the truck driver that Harry and Lloyd run into at the diner, is played by someone who isn't even an actor. At the time this was released, Cam Neely was playing for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. He would later reprise the role in the sequel "Dumb and Dumber To", as well as appear in "Me, Myself, & Irene".
When they called the waitress Flo, and was laughing, it was a reference to a long playing TV show in the 1970's called Alice. There was a waitress in the show that was named Florence, but she was called Flo, and she was from Texas and didn't take any crap from customers.
Anyway some waitresses would probably take it as a compliment to be called Flo, but most wouldn't if they knew the refference.
Yep, anyone who tried to give Flo a hard time could kiss her grits. Even Mel.
@@0okamino LOL, yea, I was going to explain that part, but they wouldn't get it if they never saw it. ruclips.net/video/pN2cfA45mUI/видео.html
This film is a classic. Can't wait to see what your thoughts are on it.
The sequel is better than people claim. It feels like fan fiction, which is a better review than most sequels.
7:03 "'The _Gas_ Man.' How the hell do they know that I got gas?"
😆😆😆
I just finished watching "Million Dollar Baby," which made me tear up a little, so its a good thing I watched your reaction next. I am happy again.
Some other great Jim Carrey movies worth checking out are Ace Ventura Pet Detective Liar Liar and Yes Man.
@@nsasupporter7557 I don't know if you know but you can comment your own suggestion list
Jim Carrey and Lauren Holly (woman he picks up and drives to airport) were together for a while after this movie.
This is one of my all time favorite comedy along with the Ace Ventura movies (which I hope you'll cover someday).
I never seen some of the extra stuff like him dumping toilet out the window. The regular theatrical version is best and flawless.
I don't remember the "Split you like firewood" scene
Your picture in the thumbnail, looks like Billy Corgan from "The Smashing Pumpkins" in the video "Tonight Tonight"... LOL.
8:53 This reaction from her made me go, "Oh, it gets worse, girl. It gets so much fuckin' worse."
No just the left one. Had me rolling in laughter
Oh wow, I didn't know you were doing Band of Brothers! It's extremely hard to watch at times, but soooooo good! I really hope that reaction goes on RUclips ❤😊😁
This movie is one of the definitive movie of my teenage years. My friends and I would quote it *constantly*
@@-M0LE I thought he was just quiet
At 7:12 his joke was a reference to the TV show Alice, which was popular in the 70s and 80s. The show had a character named Flo who was a sassy waitress.
"Excuse me, Flo?" in the diner. Flo was a waitress in an old sitcom set in a diner.
This was one of my favorite movies as a little kid.
I went years thinking about it, wanting to watch it again, but we didn't own it.
OMG YES i love this movie!!!
"Who are these sick people" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 "I just... thought he was really quiet 😥"
Your face at the "hooters" line was.... *chef's kiss*
it really is amazing how many scenes weren't in this movie when I saw it in the theaters.
Hi Dasha, I just discovered your channel when this came up on my list of recommend videos. I love this movie and most of the other movies from the writer/director brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly. Almost all of their movies have similar outrageous humor as in this movie (which people tend to love or hate), but they also normally have some type of "feel good" message. Another one of their movies that I think is hilarious is There's Something About Mary, which stars Ben stiller and Cameron Diaz.
FYI, the character Seabass was played by Boston Bruins hockey star Cam Neeley.
I knew a couple of pro baseball players who, while in New York to play against the Yankees, rented those tuxedos and walked the streets of NYC re-enacting the scene at the entrance to the gala. One of them actually got cast in Dumb and Dumber Too and is in the opening scene at the mental hospital. Every time I saw them after that, I called them Harry and Lloyd. Justin, one of those two, got a kick out of it and we had some good laughs together.
"Even I would go" That is a lovely image
If Dasha thinks the piss in the beer bottles is bad she should see what "Vanwilder" put in Eclair's...
27:00 In that toilet situation, I would've filled the vase up with water at the sink, and then poured it into the back of the toilet so that it would have water to flush.. Easy solution, if you know how that stuff works.
How'd the FBI agent not feel the heat from the flames highlighting Harry's at the gas station, huh??
I really enjoyed your reaction, especially during the cringe moments. When the beer bottles were being filled by Lloyd, I just wanted to say to you "Honey, you ain't seen nothin' yet".
When this movie first came out, and I saw advertisements for it on television, I dismissed it as being too ridiculous for my tastes. A few years later, it started appearing on a cable television station, and because there wasn't anything else worth watching, I tuned in to it. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. A guilty pleasure indeed.
See. .. I have that same reaction to "The Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang. ... I hated it until about two years ago.
Teri Garr played Mary's stepmother, you just watch her as Dr. Frankenstein's assistant in Young Frankenstein.
24:45 I actually did this with a girlfriend the winter before the movie came out. She was cool with it and we laughed at the movie.
9:27 That cop actor had a funny movie called "Rocket Man" where he becomes and astronaut that goes to Mars with a crew and a chimpanzee.
I loved that movie, but I haven't seen it since I was a little kid.
7:11 'Flo' was a sitcom TV series in the 80's about a waitress who worked in a dinner.
'You want to hear the most annoying sound in the world??' 🤣🤣🤣
Another really funny one by the Farelly brothers is Kingpin with Bill Murray, Woody Harrelson, and Randy Quaid
Unfortunately this is not the original theatrical version this is the directors cut
"We lost our jobs, we're outta beer, and our pets heads are falling off!!!!
is she watching an extended version, or a director's cut or something? there's multiple parts I don't remember, and I've seen this probably 50 times!
When this movie came out, my Family and friends quoted so many lines from this movie till this day LOL.
I don't think the title is about who is dumber. More like each situation is dumb and the next is dumber.
Dumb and dumber - great movie.
Great movie!! 😂🤣 Two friends of mine went to a mutual friends wedding dressed in those tuxes! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
FYI Sea bass is Cam Neely a former NHL player
15:21 that’s not how cpr works. 16:31 sea bass! 17:13 take that! 21:21 pedicure
You need to watch "Me, Myself, and Irene" with Jim Carey. He is funny in that movie too.
The actress with the red hair is Lauren Holly
Love your reactions!! You have to see the 20 year prank in part 2 😂😂
*#Dasha** was grossed out by the urine in the beer bottles. We need to get her to react to (American Pie)*

My mom took me to see this in theaters when I was about 8. She didn't realize what kind of movie it was
This is the extended version- it has many scenes that were not in the original release, and for good reason- they are terrible! They ruin the good fun vibe of the original-I can't explain unless you've seen both. Dasha, you are always enjoyable to watch though!
Greetings from Finland girl!!! You should definitely check out the sequel!!! It was made few years ago!!! "I'll be back" 😎

29:28 "How is it even possible to spend _so_ much money in short little _time?"_
Aspen is a _very_ expensive city.
Great classic
Flo - short for Florence - also a (bad) pun on menstrual flow.
When Lloyd is reading "T-he... t-he..." that kills me every time !
All I heard in this video was "Awwwww" 😆
3:20 "It's like, uh . . . Uber Comfort Plus, you know?" 🤣
This is the darker, alternative version of D&D that extends a couple scenes but really puts a darker twist to their story.
WAT
This is one of my favorite comedies, but I’ve always hated the extended version because it makes them look less like innocent idiots and a little more like mean-spirited, creepy, deplorable people. Extended cut is also more vulgar, which I felt changed the happy go lucky tone of the film. Like the original cut better.
Just before I start watching this video, I wanted to say that I was hoping you would do a reaction to this movie!
This movie had a lot of memorable quotes, but the one that really stuck out for me was when Harry was choking Lloyd on account of having extra gloves and not sharing with him earlier, Lloyd screams, "Harry! Your hands are freezing!"
Oh shit! she says when Lloyd pours the TurboLax. 😄😄😄😄😄😄
A boilermaker is a 🍺 spiked with a shot of whiskey.
I wonder if this is some kind of extended version of the movie, because I legit don't remember a few of those scenes of dialog that I saw in this reaction video. 🤔
This version has all the deleted scenes in it

If you liked this, you must watch "There's Something About Mary" and "Me, Myself, & Irene."
Funny thing is that one in a million talk actually came true and they got married in real life after the movie.

The annoying sound bit were improvised on the spot by Jim Carrey, from what I have read. Jeff Daniels were unprepared for it and you can see that he almost cracks up laughing.
