Aqua Velva is a notoriously inexpensive after shave that is one of the most popular of all-time. Back in the 70's, the 3 most popular after shaves for men were Brut, Old Spice, and Aqua Velva. Virtually EVERYONE wore 1 of the 3, as colognes weren't as popular for working class men as they are now.

Manual drive (AKA stick shift), as opposed to automatic transmission. Car phones would be installed by the buyer. Sadly, Kelly Preston (Arnold's girlfriend) passed away in 2020 at the age of fifty-seven, after a battle with breast cancer.
Also Kelly Preston was married to John Travolta up until her death (about 20 years), and they had 2 children, (one of whom also sadly passed away in 2009, so yeah John Travolta has gone through some tough times over the couple decades.
This movie shares a number of very similar moments with the movie "Rain Man" which came out the same year. My screenwriting teacher in film school had a pet theory that both projects were developed from the same script or pitch but developed in different directions.
"Arnie's little girlfriend" in this movie is Kelly Preston. She was a pretty well known actress in her day. Was the real life wife of John Travolta, and has sadly since passed away. I'd agree though, she was always a pretty lady, but she's drop dead GORGEOUS in this film.
Resident old dude here 👴. Smoking in public areas used to be very common. Hell, movie theaters actually used to have ashtrays built into the arms of the seats. As a teenager in the 70s (I know I started very early) I used to smoke while watching the weekend matinee in the theater balcony. When they started to eliminate smoking in public venues, the smoking area moved exclusively to the balcony until the theater was abandoned. Ironically, having been closed for twenty years after smoking was banned in theaters, it was destroyed by a fire during restoration by the historical preservation society. Who could've guessed. I miss that place every time I drive passed that parking lot😢.
Another person you might not have noticed is David Caruso as the Parking Attendant. Caruso would go on to star in TV shows like NYPD Blue and I believe CSI Miami.

arnold was a stoner when he was lifting professionally - watch pumping iron/ stay hungry
@@swk38 Yeah, that moment in Pumping Iron was pretty memorable.
"Lassie! I've never seen that movie." LOL! Ashleigh, I love you so much! You knew it was a movie first! I didn't even know that, though I knew it was based on a book. The first movie "Lassie Come Home" (1943) was filmed in the US, but took place in Scotland-Yorkshire, and starred Roddy McDowell. However, "Lassie" was best known as a TV show in the US that aired 1954-1974. Also, Lassie was almost always a male dog actor. 💙
Ashleigh, i love your reactions. Got to say as someone who was adopted at birth in 1981 and finally finding and meeting my biological mum 8 years ago any confused thoughts and questions went out the window as soon as i saw her. We just looked at each other had a cr6 and just hugged. I knew it wasnt her fault. A young single 19 yr old from a Catholic family she was forced to give me up. I have a whole extra family now with 3 half brothers and nieces and a nephew. ❤
0:41 "Tonight is your night Bro!"
You gotta be "one" of my favorites. Thank for the joy when we need it the most.
You gotta watch Junior now! Another one with Arnold and Danny!
Underrated!
Love this movie !
"Three Fugitives" - another great comedy from 80s with Martin Short. Consider reacting.
Such a fun film!
Three Fugitives was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I had a little boy crush on Meg.
And Nick Nolti
@@BobbiTopacio Yes, of course. Nolti was very hot in that movie. But I don't think Ashleigh knows who he is. Pretty sure she knows Martin Short.
Shelley Duvall? Shannen Doherty? The Shining and Heathers are must watches.
I didn't hear about Shelley Duvall! 😮
Ashleigh already did The Shining. I'm hoping she watches the live action Popeye for Shelley Duvall.
@@muppetsstoogesfan1I loved that movie as a kid.
I had the musical soundtrack on vinyl record, and my older sister, Debbie, played Olive Oyl in a live stage ballet version.
@@muppetsstoogesfan1 It is the only other real choice for Duvall in a lead role... sure, Roxanne is a good supporting option, but that is Steve Martin skipping chewing and just choking down all the scenery he can get, meaning even Damon Waynes, Fred Willard, Michael J Pollard, & Daryl Hannah become glorified extras to the One Man Show of Steve and the Rhinoplasticians Nightmare
@@TxSonofLiberty And it's also on the list of movies that Ashleigh's already watched on the channel.
I just realized that the bad guy is the same one from Total Recall.
He was the good guy in total recall
Lol Ashleigh sliding out of her chair whenever Arnie takes his shirt off
i'm always happy to see so many people love this movie
In 1992 I moved from California to Tennessee and was blown away by people smoking in the Piggly Wiggly. There were ash cans at the ends of the aisles and there was a group of people hanging out at the bakery drinking coffee and smoking. It was the weirdest thing. California's indoor smoking ban was still a couple years down the road, but I'd still never seen smoking in a grocery store before.
I have been requesting this movie for YEARS!!!! So happy Ashleigh is finally getting to experience this classic. 😃
My wife is a twin. People ask me if I ever find it hard to tell which is of them is my wife, but she doesn't have a beard
I think you'd really like True Lies -- action-comedy starring Arnold S. and Jamie Lee Curtis.
It's already on her channel. Great reaction.
Oh this is such a great feel good movie!
There were talks of a Sequel, TRIPLETS, with Eddie playing the role of a third brother, but production on the film was cancelled due to the death of director Ivan Reitman in 2022.
there is talk of it happening but who knows if its true. would be very interesting to see eddie murphy play the third brother.
It was Eddie originally, but they had moved on to Tracy Morgan.
Your quips are totally underrated 😭 you’re hilarious. “DeVito has to duck to get in a car?” 💀
Arnold and Danny= Gold
I've seen Junior... let's not lie to ourselves... Twins is great, Junior is the leftover crud that ran down the leg and somehow made a baby.
@@TxSonofLiberty oh yeah, forgot that one. It's really weird. Some funny moments but meh.
This movie deserves a sequel. Danny and Arnold are still with us, could be about their kids that are now having twins..
Arnie and DeVito paired up again in Junior in 1994. People tell me it's a bad movie (but then they say the same about Twins and I think it's fun) but I remember enjoying it, if you wanna see more of these two :)
Pretty much bettin' Ashleigh has left a man with that Arnold grin once or twice.
That one girl was in Ghost Busters 2 as Bill Murrays guest on his psych show, the one who met the 👽 at the bar.😄
@13:38 Both! I remember my mom bought one of her cars with the car phone installed but did not turn it on lol.
Manual drive (AKA stick shift), as opposed to automatic transmission.
Car phones would be installed by the buyer.
Sadly, Kelly Preston (Arnold's girlfriend) passed away in 2020 at the age of fifty-seven, after a battle with breast cancer.
Also Kelly Preston was married to John Travolta up until her death (about 20 years), and they had 2 children, (one of whom also sadly passed away in 2009, so yeah John Travolta has gone through some tough times over the couple decades.
damn.. I didn't know all that about Travolta.
Watch Kelly Preston in Secret Admirer with Lori Laughlin from Full House. Hilarious 80s teen ROMCOM
Every Europeans Know ho it work and we don't need a "special" driving licence
@supreme3376 ho does hat work?
This movie shares a number of very similar moments with the movie "Rain Man" which came out the same year. My screenwriting teacher in film school had a pet theory that both projects were developed from the same script or pitch but developed in different directions.
She totally NEEEDEEEDS to see Rain Man!
Caruso would go on to star in TV shows like NYPD Blue and I believe CSI Miami.
he was on one of the first csi's
Yup, CSI: Miami.
Re: car phones, yes, you could get one as a dealer option or (most likely) an aftermarket add-on. Little over 20 years ago, my mom had a '94 Ford Explorer gifted to her by a family from church that had a carphone _and_ a CB radio. I miss that truck.
I'm still waiting/hoping for Goldeneye and Casino Royal!
She wasn't teasing Arnold. She was on hands and knees saying baby please.😂😂😂
RIP Kelly Preston.
This movie was a childhood favorite of mine I love it, and Kelly Preston.. sheesh for a young teenage boy back in the day she did a number on me... that hotel scene, have mercy. Ashleigh Devito and Arnold team up again in the movie Junior, its fantastic and funny and endearing as well. Please watch it soon!
So what happened to Austin Powers 2 and 3? Did Franchise Fridays fizzle out?
I think she mentioned that they are in Copyright limbo.
@@NightRanger-lz6tp Shall we Copywrite now or shall we Copywrite later?
@@NightRanger-lz6tp God/the universe seems to have some strong opinions on Franchise Fridays...
@@NightRanger-lz6tp She wouldn't have that problem on Rumble. Reactions and reviews are exceptions to established copyright laws since they are transformative in nature. RUclips doesn't seem to understand that.
13:46 They were sold separately from the car for the most part, a few luxury car brands did have them as a feature (but not cars like Ford, Chevy, Nissan, etc).
Car-phones were the "cheap" way to access mobile phone signals, in the early days of cellphone technology (in 1984), A car-phone cost $2k and a cellphone cost $4k (plus $25 a month, and unto 40 cents a minute).
The first cellphone was the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X it weighed 2 pounds, and was about 12" long, 2" wide, and 4" thick. It looked like a fancy version of the Vietnam era military radio communicators (without the giant battery and transmission backpack).
Smoking was allowed everywhere until 2009. Hell, smoking wasn't banned in hospitals until 1997 here in Michigan. My mother's doctor told her to go take a smoke break around the hospital to stimulate labor for me in 92.
I smoked in my hospital room the night before having my tonsils out in 1975. Nurses might come in and have a smoke break with you. Things have really changed!
smoking bans in public buildings started in the early to mid 90s.
@@jamiemacdonald436 Not in Michigan.
That smile after "I'd absolutely let Arnold throw me around." was just perfect.
21:40 - Salad...?
My dad surprised me by loving this movie, lol.
He later watched it with his grandsons when they were 2 and 3, and they came home talking about it.
Happy you enjoyed it.
Hoping you are well, and all is great.
Oh, and hi from Manitoba, Canada!
Danny: "You're a virgin!"
Arnold: "That's private. Besides, I'm saving myself for the housekeeper."
One of my favourite movies Junior is another with Danny Devito & Arnold Schw
Still waiting for Austin Powers 😢
13:36 Some luxury cars were sold with car phones pre-installed as an option, but most of the time car phones were an aftermarket add-on. The phones themselves were a few thousand dollars, and the service was fairly pricey too, so car phones were mostly for the upscale, wealthy driver.
Why aren't you wearing the shirt Ashley? No they are not identical. No we can't mention his hair. He's never been off the island. That is Slyver staolone as Rambo. He's meeting the world for the very first time. Vincent is renting his furniture. Aquavelvaa is Aftershave. You had to have the Carphone put into your car. They were the Cellphones before Cellphones. Yes the doctor lied at birth. Kobe was no older then 12 in 1988. This came out before Kindergarden Cop. It was her the whole time. Yeah the woman who played Arnold Girlfriend here is Kelly Preston aka Mrs. John Travolta.
I just remembered that Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger both played villains in Batman movies. They really should make a Twins sequel.
These guys work so well together. You should watch “Junior”
Roots is a miniseries, followed by another miniseries. Highly recommend the whole thing. I can recite the lineage in it by heart. It's very compelling and full of character.
Kelly Preston on the motel bed, and Linda Kozlowski by the river in Crocodile Dundee.... Those scenes were pretty mind-blowing for the time!!
This was one of _the_ movies of my childhood. One of the ones i watched over and over and over, like The Princess Bride and Willow.
