  • The first Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) TwoTwenty, executive variant of the Airbus A220 single-aisle airliner, arrived in January at Comlux Completion in Indianapolis, direct from the A220 final assembly line in Mirabel, Canada.
ACJ has partnered with Comlux, the Swiss VIP aircraft specialist and operator, and its U.S.-based completion facility to produce and install configurable VIP interiors for the first 15 green TwoTwenty jets.
Comlux Completion engineers and designers have been working with their Airbus counterparts for two years to prepare for its arrival.
The ACJ TwoTwenty will have a maximum range of 5,650 nm.

This actually got my heart racing. Everyone focuses on the 7500nm bizjets while ignoring the fact that 90% of missions are far less than that. The 220 has "to the World" range with one stop on the rare times it's needed. I'll take mine with a Sealy Posturpedic please. Wake me when we're an hour out. :)

True but they can fly higher than these Jets, having much lower cabin altitude, having near 1000 kmph cruising speeds as opposed to may be 800+ top speed. plus almost twice as economical in terms of fuel. plus those biz jets can land and take off in most small airports where only a kingair can takeoff. with or quarter tank they can rival a purpose built stol planes. businesses jets are way more flexible in terms of mission. A220 cant stack up against a purpose built business jet.

@@trthib Iam not sure a regular 3 hr shuttle flying pilot would have huge experience or confidence in Transatlantic and other perilous flights. I cant comprehend that an airline Stewardess is better than a private jet one 😁😆.
You may not know Business jets have cost no matter attitude so failures are poor parts are rare. Say if you own a dassault jet and it breaks down can't be up in a day or something, Dassault will send its own spare plane ready for any mission. I never heard airbus do that (may be you may get a 200+ seat spare from airbus) . mind you Businesses jets also have Ability to operate with rotational crew with a dedicated crew flat bed in some cases.

I don't think this jet will do well in the biz category. It has many issues. First, for the same price as the G700 or B7500 you get poor speed. Just 0.8 mach vs 0.925. Second, it can't fly above the weather. The max ceiling for the A220 is horrid 41,000ft. That's awful. Even private jets at 20% the price can reach 48,000 and its competition can reach 51,000. The competition has a cabin altitude of 3900ft whereas this will be 50% higher, meaning you will get there slower, have a bumpier ride and be more tired. Also, the sheer size leads to many runways at airports out of reach, so it will mainly fly to larger airports. You will need to wait while someone brings out mobile stairs to get out of the plane. In other words.... $72M for the performance of a $10M jet at most. And an old one at that. I love the A220 as a regional jet but as a private jet this is gonna fail.

basically it operates at 0.78 mach and business jets flies 0.90 mach , so even 9-10 hours journey can save 1 hour , and business jets fly further than that without refueling. So it's luxury product not efficient and time saving. If acj want to compete with them , first increase range then cruise speed.
