I think you're seeing the true uniqueness of Angelina that we have been experiencing so long. She is not only a fantastic singer and human being, but also a true genius in every way. I am encouraging you to go back to when she is about this age (9 & 10) and really do an in-depth analysis of her development. I know some of the angels have been impatient and wanting you to hear her latest releases, but to truly appreciate what she does and how she does it means following the chronological development. Peace and love from all the angels.

We have confirmation of Angelina's genius. In the description on the video, for this performance, on Angelina's Official RUclips channel, she writes "So here it is, We recorded this yesterday with amazing orchestra KORK. My version of "Back to Black by Amy Winehouse" I had 1 day to change the lyrics, hope you like my version!" ONE DAY!!!
The story has been told, that her mother, Sara, read the original lyrics, the day before the recording session and then told Angelina she couldn't sing them. KORK, had rehearsed the song, so Angelina had to write lyrics to fit the music and she nailed it, beautifully.
There is a news feature video from NRK TV in Norway, where Angelina, her family and a couple friends visit a amusement park and are interviewed. The latter part of the video shows Angelina in a car, reviewing her new lyrics to this song, on her way to the recording session. She only needed a couple takes to make this final video. Was on a business trip, and probably listening to some Amy songs on RUclips when, thank God, the RUclips algorithm served this up and I clicked on it. Life changed from that day forward. I went back to this performance often during my rapid descent into the rabbithole! Glad to see you're doing a Back to Black series. And I'm not sure if you included the very LATEST - a Tiktok with a pianist named Aurelien Froissart in a train station, raw and live, surprising passersby, of Angelina doing a partial cover of Back to Black with the original lyrics. It has 17M+ views (between TT and Instagram, even more on other platforms) in only 14 days. A LOT of eyes and ears are seeing and hearing Angelina for the first time because of it, and I'm sure being blown away.

Angelina also rewrote the lyrics to Rehab to make it a fun song about school. Her mom thought the original lyrics were to much for a young girl to sing.
I believe that when the music starts Angelina is able to infuse herself with it, where the music and her are one, inseparable. Her special place is a "zone" often referred to by athletes performing at their absolute peak. There is no limiting interference of the ego in this state. This explains her perfect pitch and timing, and how she is able to channel the sound of the original artist while making creative choices on the fly. It's a long winded way of saying that she is a genius.

After her mom said, no way will I let you sing that, she already had the orchestra and studio time scheduled, and they presumably had the arrangement in advance to be ready. She fit the new lyrics into the existing arrangement flawlessly.

You have no idea the gems of covers you're still to discover. Here is a very short list off the top of my head:

If you're impressed with her range (who isn't), contrast 'California dreamin' and 'Natural Woman' with 'Love is a Game' (one of my favorite favorites) and 'Dusk till Dawn'.....Amazing!
Other than the unique 'slurring' that Amy was known for, as well as a nasal effect she'd employ when singing,
there isn't much more that Angelina takes when covering Amy. With regard to the 'Back To Black' Grammy winning
album, the song on the album that won 'Song Of The Year' was 'Rehab' and not 'Back To Black'.

After reading all the other posts just about everything I was going to say has already be said and said better than I could have! I will say another great reaction, and that you are getting to the point of total respect and admiration for the brilliance of that which is Angelina Jordan Astar! I quit, years ago, trying to explain how exceptional in so many ways she is to people who have not heard her perform and read about her life! A lot of us old fogies say "I (WE) love her"! What, I think, we really mean is we are in total amazement and admiration at how totally unbelievable her talent, her genius, her heart, and her total being is. It is not love in the conventional since thou many of us feel that she is like our daughter, granddaughter, or other close family member! After 10+ years I have come to realize that we long time fans can not and should not expect everyone to recognize just how exceptional she is after only hearing one or two, or even 10 or so songs. She is such a complex and rare human being that most of us have never seen or known anyone quite like her! And it takes time for most to fully realize just how exceptional she is! Whether one believes in God or not, if there is a God he could not have made a more perfect gift to humanity! I just feel very lucky to be alive during at least part of her life!

She said in her latest documentary that she is honoured to be compared to Amy and Adele and she looks up to them. She is humble, another artist would probably not say that. Love comes in many forms, which she obviously knew what love meant at the age of 10, love for her family and those in need.

But everything was done carefully about her progression and popularity, thanks to her family. NRK took Angelina and her two friends, Ella and Gustave to a fun fair - opened early just for them. They played a few games and then came the roller coaster - Angelina was scared, but she was persuaded to have a go. The long high pitch scream that she produced was her vocal warm up! From there they were driven to the studio, reading through the lyrics on the way. Angelina listened to the first take, her comment - YUK. Here we see the second take, much better...
This girl is the most musically gifted young artist I have ever encountered. IMO, her musical acumen is genius level.

There is a video available, where she is riding in the car with her mother driving to the theater and creating the changes. Her mother thought the lyrics were inappropriate for a ten year old. You can see Angelina in the performance refers back to her new musical score, she just created and still maintained the essence of the song. How!

I realize you are 72 reactions into Angelina Jordan's remarkable talent. However you have still only scratched the surface. If you are interested there is a video of how she prepared for this particular recording session. she spent the morning with two of her classmates at an amusement park scream riding roller coasters to prepare her voice. Then after the amusement park, she can be seen still reworking the lyrics on the ride to the bands location.

You absolutely will be more impressed with her as you go on I guarantee it. But you hit this nail right on the head, an introduction to her brilliance for sure. And the more you listen to her own compositions. the more you will see that brilliance and pick up on the nuances in it. Despite how you feel now it only gets better.
She isn't singing Love, she's singing Laugh multiple times. Followed by 'I still laugh at'
One doesn't fall in laugh. Angelina sings "I still laugh at," then "I fall back to, I fall back in love," repeating "love" where Amy repeats "black."

The problem you are having is that she doesn't pronounce the "f" sound at the end of the word when she repeats "laugh" but you should be able to hear the "f" sound when she sings the word "laughing".
Earlier in the song, there is the line, "I laughed, I cried, I loved". I believe the repeated "laugh" is a call back to this line.

Angelina is a 100% empath who has always understood, at a very vast level, the meaning of genuine love and compassion. After it first came out, lots of people, mainly women, couldn't stop talking about the violin player about 20 seconds in. 🤣😂I forget which video it was, it was live performance on stage. She closed her eyes, the camera zoomed in and when she opened them, she did a quick double take, like wondering where she was, without missing a beat or lyric.

This one totally blew me away when I heard it for the first time. It wasn't too long after I discovered Angelina 6 years ago that I heard this. I was not a huge Amy Winehouse fan but I did know her music to some extent and I was able to really appreciate when Angelina has done here. To totally changed the lyrics in 24 hours is genius! 😊 I'm not sure if you've seen it yet but Angelina did an impromptu appearance in a train station in London a couple of weeks ago singing the same song!

If you look up the first stanza to the original lyrics by Amy it’s not hard to understand why her mother forbade her 10 year old from singing it. And that’s not even taking into consideration the rest of the lyrics dealing with drugs and addiction. Dark, dark subjects.

She is like no other.....And congrats. Yes. The moon is mentioned over and over. But not just in words. Images of the moon are in videos and backdrops. Angelina says she loves the night....
Although Amy Winehouse and Adele have influenced Angelina I would mot say they were the major influences, that would be Billie Holiday and Elvis along with Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Louis Armstrong snd other older blues performers! Amy and Adele were also influenced by the same people among others, that is why they are similar! Angelina's family certainly watches over Angelina's music exposure and lyrics, that is why Angelina reworks some songs to make them age appropriate, as with Back To Black and Bohemian Rhapsody for instance!
I agree with what I know so far. I think the influence I mentioned in the interview was her "idol of the hour" but it is VERY clear how much, how long, and how deep she truly studied every note, phrase, articulation, breath, lyrics, on and on of these classics
@@A-AronReactsMy impression is that Angelina will take the lyrics of a song she likes and then rehearse the song in her head as she feels the song ought to be sung from the perspective of her own lyrical interpretations..a good example would be Easy On Me which for Angelina is her asking us to go easy on her as she navigates her youth which is of course totally different to Adele’s meaning.
There’s another video of her in the sound room listening to this song. She looks totally bored the whole time and when asked what she thought of it, she said “Yuck!” Sooooo, the one you just watched was Take 2! I thought you would have been told by now to never stop Angelina’s videos until completely finished. Go back and watch the orchestra’s reaction at the end. Also, did you see the male violinist who kept watching her? You can tell he’s intrigued. I love, love, love what she did with the lyrics since her mom said she couldn’t sing it the original way. Yes, how does she know about this kind of love? She doesn’t, so she empathizes with the whole concept. As you said, “Genius!” Again, one of my very favorite songs. Nice reaction A-Aron! The feel and sound of the song is still there, but she really did change a lot of the lyrics in the song. Man, she did such a good job on this! From my understanding, her mom told her if she wanted to sing this song, she had to change lyrics or she couldn't sing it. There is actually a tv interview/ news segment that shows her in a vehicle making the last minutes changes on these sheets of paper before meeting up with KORK. They even show a small portion of this music video as well.

She is an empath and functions at a high level of consciousness beside being a musical genius. So even though she has not experienced some things herself
she can feel them in others. She can then convey these feelings in her singing.

I too, after watching IPASOY and the 4 NGT performances, thought this girl was literally historical. On par with Mozart, Beethoven, and other musical geniuses from times past.

I had a number of comments I was going to make, but I read the comments & everything was already said. She sings the original lyrics of Amy in a recent impromptu performance in a train station in London with a piano player & a sax player who joins in. Thankfully, she slurs the dirtiest part so you can't make out what she says.

She pulled off a similar transformation of a song with her modification of the lyrics in her performance of Loving You. She changed the sense from a selfish persuit to a desperate plea for universal love. The song had the same passion as Etta for a totally different goal.❤
You are getting her on a level that few reactors have, after listening to many songs, interviews, reading our comments, learning the deeper levels of this girl from her songs and experiences. She has experienced multiple deep losses and grand highs in her life and early career that have catapulted this genius into still more complexity as a person and artist. There is so much to learn about about her, we don't waste a second. You are learning that too. It's not just FANaticism, she is just so truly incredibly special.
Angelina doesn't call it her special place. That has connotations of escaping bad things, even abuse, as a psychological defense. She calls it another world. It is not escape, but transcendence. Her other world has the perfection of music. It is the realm of receptivity to higher purposes, of visions. Of course we know she is a visionary, from her experience at a young age of a staircase or ladder ascending to heaven. Singing takes her to another world where her imagination can create the ideal expression of her artistic vision. From that world the sound of her voice beckons all of us to join her there, not in isolation but in loving unity.
It’s a vision of “our” future. The best of faith and hope. Like a solid foundation to build upon.
The best of what humanity has potential to accomplish.
Hopefully in our lifetime it will become a reality.

I am a huge admirer of AJ and of your channel, so I am really looking forward to seeing what there is with this subscription. I hope to deepen my understanding of Angelina and share thoughts with other Angels. God bless you, Aron, for your support of Angelina. She is a truly wonderful person and a once in a lifetime vocalist, and I want to learn all that I can about her. Both what she does and how she does it. I am especially interested in how she is able to evoke such emotional reactions from her listeners that so many say they have never experienced from other artists. “Who the heck is this girl”? Good question! When I first came across her as an artist I read posts describing her as a modern day Mozart..I laughed at the hyperbole at the time..5 ears (and years lol) later and I’m not laughing now. Aron you’ve taught me so much and for that I thank you.
Great reaction and understanding of Angelina, Aron. I was lucky to stumble across her at the beginning, with her NGT appearances, and like everyone else, was blown away. It was at age 10 that I realized she would become an absolute legend. What is even more mind blowing about her complete rewrite in 24 hours is that there was a scheduled visit with school friends at an amusement park the morning of this performance. There is video of them enjoying the rides, etc. One of Angelina's many super-powers is her ability to 'stay in the moment'. You would think that she didn't have a care in the world as she ran around the park with her friends. At the end, riding to the studio, she is back to work and going over the new lyrics. There is another video of her in the control booth listening to their first take of this song. Everyone seems very happy with it, except Angelina. A second recording was made and that is what you just watched. She gets the respect she deserves.

Aaron, when you see Angelina reach for the pages of paper she is reading from her edited version of the lyrics. Angelina’s mom, Sarah felt the lyrics were too age inappropriate for her to be singing. It’s my understanding that Angelina edited the lyrics on the way to this performance. Having done so confirms that, even at ten years of age, Angelina’s exceptionally brilliant song writing is unequalled.
Angelina does at least two different versions of Amy's song Valerie. They are some 5 years apart, so you can again use it to guage her growth. On this one, the tempo is the same because KORK wasn't aware of her edits to the song, so they learned and performed the original version that Amy performed.
I read that because some of the lyrics are racey her mother didn't want her to sing those lyrics so she ( Angelina) changed them to be more appropriate for a 10 y.o. That was a good choice I think.
