When I purchased the machine I contacted Sterling and asked them for a starter kit, however I specified a hand peace with the cheater as their are a few options with the hand peace. The kit is complete with everything you need to start faceting. Just ask Sandun for a quote and then alter to your specification.
When I ordered I contacted Sandun at Sterling and asked him for a starter kit. I got the machine, 2 polishing laps, 4 diamond cutting disks, a doping station and several dops, the cheater hand peace, a dop holder and some polishing diamond powder. Thinking back it was about £1750.00 all in with about £85.00 import duty. Before you order ask Sandun for a itemised quote and then order.
Having done a lot of investigation I found that many gem cutters in the east use this type of machine to great effect. Its a proper gem cutters machine at well under half the price of a typical USA style mast machine. They have very reliable components and are built to last. The Sterling company in Sri Lanka are very helpful and I still have contact with the owner who enquires after my well-being and asks how I am getting on with machine. When I purchased my machine it did take a few weeks to arrive, understandable as Sri Lanka was in total lock down due to COVID. I was however kept involved at all times. Finally look at Justin k Prims channel he is one of the foremost gem cutters, teaches the art, and uses this machine. Hope this helps.

The import tax was about £75.00 that bill came later. The prices may have changed so it’s worth contacting Sandun at Sterling and asking for a quotation.
It’s not the machine that’s noises, it’s the diamond coated cutting disks, especially when using the 100 diamond disk. As you go finer it gets quieter as their is less harsh friction on the stone. The motor which I believe is German does have a cooling fan which is the background hum rather like a pc cooling fan. Many cutters use the background change in noise as it changes frequency when you reach the end of the set cutting point, it begins to make a skipping noise as the stone is no longer in full contact.
