Wow. Over 10k views. I surely did not expect that. Thank you very much to everyone who has liked and actually watched the vid. I didn't expect that either. I am humbled and thankful!! Cheers!!
+Troy Woods haha, are you kidding ? It's just because you nailed it perfectly.Awesome sound and playing as well.Would be happy to have your skills ;-) Rock on mate !
Here's one for you, I was playing this video in the background and a friend of mine asked "Is that a live version of stranglehold". You pass the "is that stranglehold" test.
The Motor City Madman. Damn this brings back some memories. Uncle Ted use to come to town every year when I was a kid, and having a cousin 6 years older didn't hurt either. I got to go to concerts that otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to see. I've seen Ted in concert more than anyone else. First concert was Aerosmith (Toys in The Attic) with Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush opening. I'll never forget it. But Ted was the ultimate rocker. One of his concerts it started snowing and he said well I guess we'll have to stay in and rock all night. And we just about did. Friggin city employees got the parking lots cleared enough to get everyone out and they made us leave.
Top 3 things I’m jealous of: 1) That SICK double neck 2) How precise your reverse bends & double stop bends are 3) It looks like you’re not even trying. Totally relaxed I can only imagine how much better you’ve gotten over the last 8 years, rock on bro 🤘🏼
this was the very first song I learned on the guitar. It took me years to master it, and I can honestly say that this was one of the best covers I have heard in 15 years of guitar playing. Props to you man!
@@MrVaroom68 Former WWF wrestler, wrestled alongside Scott Hall for a while. Also played the Russian in The Punisher, and the emotional steroid using prison guard in The Longest Yard
I'm just now discovering this. Incredible. You're my hero. I like the look, I like guitar, I love the tune and it was killer to see the whole thing clearly and so incredibly precise. Bravo man.
Man Troy you act like its nothing to play that but damn you could replace almost any guitarist in Rock or metal today. I enjoyed watching it so much you are the real deal bro.
@@MrVaroom68 on 0:23 when it goes from 0 0 to 000 on the alternate picking, did you just learn that from going slow to fast on a metronome? any tips? thanks! (:
That was mind-blowingly spot on! I heard it on the radio earlier and remembered seeing him live in Raleigh NC back in 2000, all I could think was "I need to learn more Ted". "Cat Scratch Fever" was a decent starter for me, "Stranglehold" looks like a great target for me. Although, I may switch back and forth between lead and rhythm riffs, I've never seen a pinky move so fast so much 😆 Truly great and inspiring!
Thanx for the nice comment. Check out some of my other vids. See if there is anything you like. Subscribe and stuff like that if you want. Tell your friends. Thanx. Troy.
I absolutely love the Gibson SG's that was my very 1st semi expensive guitar I ever got it was a Gibson USA SG with a maroon wood finish! Badass cover aswell nice job!
where were you when I needed you haha. 60+ yrs ago or so needing a gitman badly and not one within a 20 mile circle that could even get by for a local bar gig..we had the hair and the swag but not the ta;ent..haha loved your stuff. thanks.
Thank You ! That's always nice to hear. Listen to some of my original tunes. There might be something you like there also. Share with your friends. Leave a comment or two. Thanx Again! Cheers!

Incredible, man! Sounded great on my end. You nailed it! Thanks for doing this, i'm going to try and use this to learn some of those passages this weekend! \m/
Thanx for the comment. Please see my other videos for more for. Stuff. And good luck with learning the tune. It's not that hard realy. Let me know if you need help.
@@MrVaroom68 Thanks man! Yeah I subbed for sure. I appreciate that offer -- you've been helping me a ton already with this video. It's a lot easier to piece together with listening and reading tabs while watching what positions you are using. It's kind of opened my eyes a bit to how practicing with a drone can help a lot with melody. Having that A string droning away really brings out the sounds of those notes a lot more than just with a metronome. I've heard other people mention practicing with a droning note, I think i might start doing that more often.
You made that cover look effortless. Awesome 👍😊 dude!!!! Uncle Ted has to be proud of you brother. I subscribed to see More. Thanks again and be safe out there.
This was a very good cover, I think Ted would really like it if he heard it, and I think he would respect you enough to give you good criticism too ( since YOU claim it's not perfect lol ). I haven't played guitar in a while because I've had other occupations but when I used to play it regularly this song was one of my favorites because it's a very organic song to play. I don't know how to explain it clearly but I think guitar players like you who plays it can understand. It's a song that's very easy to play according to your own way, it leaves a lot of room for interpretation, it's a hard, slow song that gets faster at some point, there's a ton of space to improvise. Whenever I played this song it never was the exact same way because of that, so I never got tired of playing it.
"You got me in a Goddamn stranglehold"!!! Nice work Troy!.. Did u miss a little at the end though?...Not like you to do that sooooo, apologize if I just didn't hear it right... Maybe the tape speed was off at the end. :) This has inspired me to finish learnin' Rod's bass part on this classic!!! Cover Stairway with the double neck!.. That would be grooovey!...That SG looks like a freakin' Gretsch with the badass bridge....And I want that 76' Rick you have behind you....And since I cant have it, U SUCK!!!........LOL...

Hats off.
Hell man post another.

That drum fill as the bass joins in is one of the rockinest moments in all of rock.
Not perfect?
This shit was perfection at its finest!
thanx!!
What a TONE that is, man! Shrieks through one's body! Amazing, perfection

Perfection. Best cover of an Uncle Ted song on the internet - by FAR!
One of the best composed guitar songs ever! Great cover. That would take me a year or so to memorize.

@kovuqui it's just a feel thing. Just yrs of playing it. I would recommend going slow and build it up with a metronome.
