I don't think Warren Demartini and Robbin Crosby got enough credit for their amazing guitar writing and playing skills....these riffs they put down were some of the best the 80's had to offer.....
One of my favorite episodes of Behind the Music is Ratt. A band's story is always incredibly interesting and sometimes tragic, and this is very true for Ratt.
i'm watching this 9 years after you posted it and im sure i'll be watching for as long as it's available on youtube. This cover sounds absolutely amazing
“ Out of the Cellar ” アルバムリリースしてから、36年後の2020年に、RATT の “ Round And Round ” が米国の保険会社 GEICO のCM曲で再評価されるなんて…。
Heck yeah, Rebel ! May 2021 now, and this still kicks ass. You know why? Because it will ALWAYS kick ass. This stuff is awesome, and it will never die. Just a great, great 80s tune, from a killer 80s band. And what a job he did on this tune. he nailed it! I agree - rock on.
25 people ate a rat. MR TONE at it again! Warren DeMartini was brilliant...his playing was so signature...incredible tone and style...clean...like red hot Hawaiian punch poured on a 110 degree summer day.
Why is that modern heavy metal/rock band can't come up with guitar riffs like this? They're heavily influenced by 80s metal music but yet they couldn't come up with guitar line like this....why?
yea agreed. guitar gods are a necessary thing, esp for rock imo. many had to invent their own style and signature just to stand out. was a beautiful time for rock n roll from the 50's to the late 90's. Today you hear a lot more formulaic bullshit wrapped in a ugly package . . .
hugebigs,,,,try the legendary songwriter and creator of some of the most iconic melodies, harmonies, riffing, hooks and bends that Steven Maynard 'The Riffmaster' Clark created, it's extremely hard to replicate. Steve created guitar parts in "little boxes" as Vivian noted, Steve had a talent that was incalculable, Leppard's lack of any real success post his passing evidence enough of how truly gifted he was, and he wrote most of the songs too and was strapped low a true rock star who owned the stage oozing cool.
How many years experience? I’m 14 with a year and a half of experience and i can play the whole song easily, I’m not saying it isn’t hard, but it’s not THAT hard
The phrasing is different from so many players. A lot of standard runs just don't apply. Soo good and fun. I remember hearing Frank Zappa talking about how Warren was so different from so many other players at this time because his timing and spacing was unique.
Man, you play like a guitar god! F**kin' awesome! I'm impressed! I've loved Ratt since the beginning and I'm so glad to see someone play their stuff with such great passion and skills after 35 years (damn, I'm old)! Thank you for this... and long live ratt'n'roll, always in my metal heart!
So amazing -especially the solo. And FINALLY a cover with the upper harmony -it gets overpowered in the studio version by the lower harmony, but it's so much more intense and biting hearing the upper harmony exposed! I love it!
I feel old but I still say, what a freaking, amazing album. Just one of the best bands of that era. Not long living, but they killed it out of the gates.
One of my favorite songs of all time, shown in detail as the best rendition of it, ever. Skill, axe and amp sound great (!!!) Yeah, years after the fact, but, hey! 🤗😏🤩
The first time I heard this song was in 1984 coming back from the Big Island Hawaii to Oahu where I was stationed in the Army. Blew my mind . R.I.P. Robbin " KING" Crosby. Warren you, Robbin, and all of Rattled brought a lot of joy to this soldiers life. Great playing man !
Whats amazing is Warren was only 21 when recorded this song. He was only probably 19 when he came up with the idea for this song. Excellent chops for only playing guitar for 7 years.
Even attempting to learn these riffs is a challenge imagine sitting down for weeks even months to come up with the guitar hooks and riffs, awesome times.
Awesome....I think I love it more seeing it played on a Wayne guitar! I’ve been around for awhile and I have a big loyalty to Wayne and Michael, good for you sir for supporting the original master of super strats and ultra custom guitars!
Unbelieveable. Both the guy who composed that originally and your ability to play it. That is great. It's all amazing that a person can do that... in addition to creating it in the first place.... and this wasn't average. It was spot on.
I’m a drummer and wish I could meet a guitarist that knew who play all kinds of covers from music like Ratt, Motley, ZZ Top among others. I always am a magnet for posers who say they can play but they strap the guitar on and they can’t do shit!
EXCELLENT DEMO! Dude obtained the perfect tone. That guitar is smokin! I like the paint job too. What kind of guitar is that? I want one! This guy is a fine player. Great job Sir.
Rock and Roll, Baby!! Yep. You nailed this. What an awesome song, and you just crushed it. The tone. The nuiances. The timing and phrasing. Just mazing! The good stuff NEVER dies. Never.
Rafael Zorzal Actually, The part he just did that was Robins sounded a little off on a few notes. Not by much but listening to the song since it was new for all these years listening to the tape and then listening to this made it just stand out. Robins also dead btw in case you didn`t know, he passed away in the early 90`s.

Mike Quintanilla for sure!!
They don't but I love them both. Robin was bad ads before he got sick, and wd is still awesome
Totally agree ! 100 %
One of my favorite episodes of Behind the Music is Ratt. A band's story is always incredibly interesting and sometimes tragic, and this is very true for Ratt.
Robbin was a monster on the geetar.
i'm watching this 9 years after you posted it and im sure i'll be watching for as long as it's available on youtube. This cover sounds absolutely amazing
Never knew there was so much guitar skill involved in that song
I know. Lots of little bits for sure! It's more complicated than I remember!
Yeah, its virtuoso stuff, not only skill but the most tasty note choice and ball swaggering groove all mixed together
That's 80's rock for you....
Try Eddie's Van Halen stuff for a whole hour?? Woo wee! Fingers and wrists will fall off by the end of the day.
Same here until I listened to it loudly in the car! That’s why I’m here! 😁
True lol
Man, you play with a lot of technique, tone, and attitude....very nicely done!
+Tim Hansen yeah this guy is awesome... this is a deceptively difficult song to nail, and he completely owns it. very impressed!
3:46 That descending part (followed by Pearcy's scream) gives me goosebumps every time.
Seriously dude, you need to start putting tutorials, you could earn a lot of money on here with your exceptional skills.

Love that solo! Warren wrote some killer tunes.
the harmony in the solo is what makes it
It's a great tune...I hear a lot of Panama influence
@Jeff Good - More like a love child of Panama and Unchained
@@jcgood I can see what you mean, but Panama was released the same year so it would be weird if they took inspiration from that
He was influenced by Eddie Van Halen but hi got his own style and technic

very good I was back on 80´s for a moment
so far your covers are possibly one of the best i've seen on youtube in quite a few years

Today's bands don't come close to the talent of what was.
ロビンも草葉の陰で泣いて喜んどりますやろw(もとい、パームツリーの木陰でしたww)

Alex Van Hagar listen to avenged sevenfold. they have guitar riffs like this only modernized
Not even close, buddy! As a matter of fact, it's bands like them that's the opposite to the 80s "hard rock"
you say they are influenced but from the way i hear it now a days they dont sound influenced enough
very good question!
Your playing is so badass!!! I've watched a bunch of your vids. You play with soul brotha!!!! I love it!!
YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHERE IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE WARRENS SOLO FOR THIS SONG
Dude makes that look soooo...... easy- but this song (like most of DeMartini's stuff) is HARD to play. Nimble, nimble, nimble fingers.
hugebigs Agreed. I skipped the main riff. Been working on the verse riff. Killer song.
hugebigs,,,,try the legendary songwriter and creator of some of the most iconic melodies, harmonies, riffing, hooks and bends that Steven Maynard 'The Riffmaster' Clark created, it's extremely hard to replicate. So amazing -especially the solo. And FINALLY a cover with the upper harmony -it gets overpowered in the studio version by the lower harmony, but it's so much more intense and biting hearing the upper harmony exposed! I love it!
Satsuma, you`re the man! Not only for the superb playing, but also for the fantastic collection of guitars!
one of the most solid riffs ever...your bends were mostly spot on
HUGE Van Halen influence on these riffs. Actually, come to think of it, I could totally see VH doing this song.
It messes perfectly with unchained you can interchange the riffs going from unchained to round and round.
I feel old but I still say, what a freaking, amazing album. Just one of the best bands of that era. Not long living, but they killed it out of the gates.
perhaps the best rendition i've ever heard and seen. well done !

Wow!!! That was AMAZING!!! You nailed the song - especially the solo!!! I like how you ended it as well!!!
The outro solo is so good in this, I've heard this song so many times that I can say Satsuma plays it just like the record
It took seeing you play to really appreciate how friggin' awesome this riff was.
soooooo clean as always
I watch this like at least twice a week.best cover of round and round hands down!!
I got to say I've never seen anyone be so through and precise with all the songs you do. Very impressive!!

Nice. Warren De Martini had such awesome riffs & such a killer sound. You would make him proud my brother. sj~13
Incredible playing, Warren was a Monster player! Ratt had so many Rocking Tunes!
After watching you play this, I like this song even more. Your playing is beautifully flawless.
I don’t know how one could play this any better than you’ve done here. Nice job bro!
