When you hear a song and think to yourself. That sounds easy. Then look it up and this is the first video that pops up. Then you see how much is going on. Puts guitar back in case. Yea not today little buddy. Shuts phone off. Sits back and thinks of a way easier hobby. Think I'll build a rocket ship.
@@agentorange2554 Lol When you're all ready to jam along, got your guitar in your lap, and you push play, while listening with a blank stare. And you put your guitar right back on the stand because THERE IS NO WAY! ¡! What were you even thinking???? Yeah, 8ve done that so many times lol
I think it's because of the similarity in his rhythm playing with Van Halen's. But people miss the fact that, as a lead guitarist, he has a much different style.
Yes it seems the 80s stuff is still pretty popular, and for good reason! It's hard not to admire some of the brilliant playing that came out of that era!
My first month in a new band the singer looked at me and said we need to learn round and round for next week. I knew what a hard song this was going to be to learn by ear as it was 1993 ish. Looks like I was about 80% if this guy is correct. 😆
great work! tough one to learn by ear for sure. Lots of little intricacies and the fact that Warren and Robbin are playing things a little differently!
During the dual guitar part in the solo I love how he like changed the coat of the guitar to like a snakeskin and now I’m imagining a snakeskin signature Charvel for this dude 🎸
@@SnakeEyedAussie I think he'd have a Les Paul with his logo on it somewhere lol idk.. I'm sure he'll see these comments and let us know what he thinks.
That was how magical the sound of the guitars of the 80s was, melodic, to dance, to have fun, full of technique, virtuosity, the best guitarists were at that time! Sunset Strip, Glam, Hair Metal!!
The 80´s Glam MEtal was so much fun to play on Guitar, not to mention that Guitar techniques took a big step on techniques and REALLY Guitar playing EVOLVED so much, I love the 80´s Guitar metal songs.
The 4th and 5th are, too, if we’re being honest. People who overly praise 1 and 2 over the others mostly only know a few songs from the later releases.. 🤷🏻♂️
@@Mozartkugel In my and most people's opinion the quality dropped off big time with Robin's decreased involvement. Not that there isn't one or 2 good songs on these later albums, but no where near the quality of the first 3. That explains why people don't know many of those songs on those albums....
My wife is so impressed when I learn a song like this, then I always remind her "learning to play a great song is one thing - creating one is another".
Demartini uses the same two fret chording thing with his middle finger. I started using that technique a couple of months ago as I have small hands really helps with getting to higher notes! Well done!
I wasn't trying to emulate that particular technique so thats really cool. Always nice unconsciously do something that DeMartini does. I have small hands too so whatever it takes to help with the stretches I try to do!
Just takes some practice. Mess around with the angle of your pick and how much is sticking out. I learned by practicing them on a bent note. The extra tension seems to help somehow. Also, vibrato is the thing that makes the harmonics really pop, in my opinion!
Warren DiMartini's riffs have always sounded hard to me. Wicked cool riffs but even a non guitar player can tell there's a complexity to his chords. I feel the same about Jake E Lee.
It's definitely doable! There are a few challenging parts though, specifically the stretch on the C chord (That F# note) and of course both solos have their moments. DiMartini plays with such attitude and feel that it is very hard to copy him exactly. It's super loose but razor sharp at the same time. Amazing player. I love his playing!
This song/video is the best.!. I've never learned covers to quickly and accurately until I found Mr.Tabs page. Has helped me become a far better player all around. The format forces me to become as accurate as possible. Now I would love to see you post "Lay it down" by Ratt. Keep the glamrock Hair bands alive. Keep pumping out those 80s !!!!!

It's the same guitar that's in our Power Rangers video but we edited the color so it wouldn't be too repetative. It's a USA Select model. A truly superb instrument!
I see Jason is getting one step closer to the ultimate goat of CC DeVille. Can he actually pull something from Flesh 'n Blood off? I'm doubtful...It better not be Unskinny Bop. We're all waiting and watching.

Funniest comment yet🤣. I can relate…
This song was a highlight of the ‘80s hair-metal phase! What a fantastic performance
I agree he nailed it . Top !
There is always so much more going on in these songs than first meets the eye.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Check out the guitar cover for Grease is the Word. HOLY SHIT!!
And that goes double for bass lines.
That’s Warren and Robin for ya !!!

One of my favorite hair bands, favorite songs, favorite solos. Guitar players know and appreciate.
The 80's had some of the most original and technical guitar writing ever produced.
Will likely never be matched.
That achievement belongs to the late 60s and early 70s. Believe it or not, the embryo all lies in the Beatles' womb of creativity ...
@@charliewest1221 the Beatles could never be that good haha
@@charliewest1221 HAHHAHA nice try Charles.... Warren Demartini is a beast on guitar and playing counterpoint melodic lines behind vocals
People remember the 80's for the solos... but no one says anything about the rythmn work. These guys deserve a throne
This song is rippin, never knew how complicated it was to play. This guitarist nailed it note for note.
HELL YES! FINALLY!!!!! the man himself takes on this killer 80s tune! Thank you sir, best of luck everybody. Keep rockin'!🎸🤘🏻

I think the “shirt” and bandanna might be closer to Juan Croucier😅🤘🏻👍
For the record, the song was written by Robbin Crosby (music) and Stephen Pearcy (lyrics). The main solo is DeMartini's.

Robin Crosby has just is just as much a part of this song though. Warren has said as much. His parts helped make the song what it is

and very difficult to play it correctly indeed!
Refreshing to see someone who has the talent and skill to play these songs correctly!
Playing them isn’t the hard part. It’s the actual genius who wrote them. But yes he played it very well for sure.
You got that Warren DeMartini vibrato down, sounds so dam good.
The rhythm guitar on this song absolutely ROCKS 🪨
Not heard this in a few decades - awesome job, 80s forever!🤟🤟🤟
