Hey Everyone! This is a remake of my older Sweet Child video posted 3 years ago. I would like to mention that I am not posting this because I am running out of songs, to buy time, or anything like that. 😂 The older tab was posted at a time when I had 400 subscribers and I wasn't on a mission to provide accuracy as true to the artist as I could get. This video is better representation of what this channel has become and I am much more comfortable with having this out there for you to follow along. The older video is now unlisted on RUclips but the link is in the description if you'd like to still follow that one.
Here are some changes that I have made:
-The intro follows Slash's pick strokes
-Guitar Tones has been re-adjusted and guitar parts re-recorded
-Interludes and solos are more true to Slashes fretboard positioning
-Video and Audio are much more in sync
-A Slash wig in slow motion has been added to accentuate the climax of this song for visual attractiveness
-Neck bend at the end

If I remember correctly the intro was almost like a warmup and someone overheard him play it and the rest is history. Pretty impressive that your warmup turns into one of the most memorable intros from the 80s.
I don't think he wrote it or played it(solo). I truly believe they brought in studio guitar players for the record. he is sloppy live and on the record the player is clean and perfect. I didn't make that rumor up but believe it because it is something that went around as being true

@@bobwreck3775 Lol stop. He was sloppy live because he was probably hammered the overwhelming majority of time. As for the studio, you do realize that solos usually aren’t played in full? They’ll do sections and take the best version and piece them together.
@@bobwreck3775 I mean in his defence, In the studio version, you can redo it as many times as you want (hell Jimi re-recorded All Along The Watchtower so many times to pick the best one that his Bass Player left). Meanwhile during a concert, you only have one shot if you don’t want to get embarrassed by the crowd
I used to think this song is getting boring and annoying because it was overplayed back then. After for a while, listen back to this song especially with your amazing work for this cover I think I'm having a great time again. Great job as always bro 👏.

The trick to really getting the intro part to 'sound good/right' is ensuring *every single note* lasts right up until the next and then gets immediately cut off so there's no bleed over. Everything should be as smooth as possible in transitioning from one note to the next. This takes practice, but it's ultimately an invaluable skill to have and will make your playing in general sound a lot better. Start slow - seriously, even if you can play all the notes at speed, still slow it down and ensure every single note transition is immediate and smooth and clean. It should all flow like a sung melody line, not some staccato riff.

This is one of the TOP 5 Rock solos of all time. The phrasing is impeccable. It is emotive, aggressive, filled with texture, and highly memorable. Mr. Tabs captured all of those qualities perfectly!

I've always been de-tuning the E-string at the end of the song instead of bending the neck. Didn't know you could do that, incredible work as always mr. Tabs
The ending especially after it is 100% accurate and better then the old version. Best thing besides the solo that I love is the muted part after it and you nailed it.

Until I stumbled into here, I had never heard any of these songs ever covered or instructed with the nuance they are on this channel...absolutely amazing. The attention to detail and tone sounds spot on. The way the video is shot framing just the guitar and hands is monumental as a means to learn the song. Appetite for Destruction was life changing for me, I think it was the first album I fell in love with front to back. I am awestruck and certainly subscribed to your channel - I can't believe I hadn't found it before now.

I am very impressed with the accuracy of your cover. Just started practicing the solo while watching your video. The bends make this a tough one to play. I have been playing a long time and can do some pretty advanced stuff in other styles, but this will still make me put in some hours to learn note for note. Mad props.
