To be able to pull off like 20 different styles in one solo is damn impressive. Hats off to you brother.

He wasn't perfect but pulling off this solo perfectly is nothing short of impossible.
It's pretty impressive when you think about who was doing the solos and how different the styles. I would have liked to hear what Warren Dimartini , Jake E Lee, Gary Moore would play over this. That was a lot of serious shredders in that studio.
当時 一番驚いたのはニール・ショーンのスーパープレイ そらぁ皆凄いんだけども そしてデイブ・マーレーのメロディセンス そんなこんなをコノクオリティで通して演奏できちゃうなんて。もう言葉がない。
とても驚きました。
なぜかと言うと、それぞれのパートにはっきりと、それぞれの人格が現れていて、それを一人で表現しているのだから。
確かにロニーは、それぞれのパートに特徴的な奏法をしている部分を選択したのだろうけれど、さつまさんの演奏に、各ギタリストの人格が憑依を繰り返すように、当に星がそれぞれの個性的な光り方をするように、聴こえてしまうのです。
単なるコピーでは表現しきれない、驚くべき演奏であると思いました。
僕は毎日、さつまさんの動画を観ています。
さつまさんの動画は僕を励ましてくれるからです。

このソロの全てのギタリストのフレーズ好きですが、
やっぱり耳を奪われるのはイングヴェとジョージ・リンチと最後のドナルド・ローザーですね。
つーか、SATSUMAさんの完コピ具合に鳥肌モノですわ。

@@page0626 ありがとうございます。当時は、高校生でした。感慨深い、いろんなエッセンスが詰まった曲ですよね。それを兼ねでるSATSUMAさんは、我々世代のヒーロです。泣けます。
学生時代、お前も歳取ったらシブいロック聴くようになるんだぜ！と言われました。
もちろんそういうのも嫌いでは無いけど、あの頃のメタル魂は未だにピカピカに輝いている54歳です👍

当時この楽曲のレコーディングに参加した一人一人のプレイが充実に再現されててあらためて凄いと思いました！
あれだけの個性の集まりを一人で弾き切ってしまうなんて、、、驚愕です。

This guy needs a band or a solo deal. This tune goes through so many different styles and techniques. He just gave a clinic to even experienced players. Great ear, great execution, great feel. Outstanding!

I've loved this song since it came out and did not believe it was possible for any one guitarist to get close to copying it. As always, you've left me dumbstruck with awe. Absolutely superb and the only way to see what these guys were actually playing at the time. Bravo!
Not only is that unreal and amazing but did anyone notice how he does his power/bar chords......with his thumb over the top of the fretboard and its still perfect!

Fucking brilliant! When the Hear 'n' Aid song came out back in 1985 I was fifteen and really into most of the bands represented, even Journey (Neal Schon). I remember taking many walks at night to get out of the house and blasting this over and over and over and over on my Walkman. I probably wore the cassette out! I appreciated the other songs of collaboration to help World Hunger at the time: "Do They Know It's Christmas" and "We Are the World", but "Stars" now allowed those of us into heavy rock and metal to feel a part of it all. Rest in peace Ronnie James Dio!

That was a dam good showing man. When my buddy and I were in our prime playing guitar we used to play that and split the solos between the 2 of us back-and-forth. That was really really good man. The idiots that did the thumbs down don't understand what it takes to really play something like that.

Dude - that's kick ass man! I remember playing this in one of the cover-bands I was in when this came out. Talk about a flashback to the late 80's! We had some of the best guitarists ever come out of the 80's! I feel very fortunate to have lived through the Sunset Strip, The Whiskey & Gazzarri's during the time period of so many guitar legends.
