I have a very specific question that is probably case by case…but I’ve been following all your steps untethering and my wife is seeing someone else. We still talk and snuggle and she just has a lot of healing to do. I feel like I don’t want to talk to anybody else or date anyone else for while I work on myself, and try to work on things with my wife. Should I talk to other people while my wife is having an affair to help untether and maybe build my value even more? I feel like that could make things worse given that in my particular situation I basically chased my wife away into another lovers arms so it’s totally my fault. Either way, i would communicate and be open with her if I did decide to talk to other people. Thanks!

@peterfichtner1 Untethering is not just about detaching from the outcomes but attaching yourself to the process.
So I'm not sure what your process for untethering is, but if you are still asking:
"Should I talk to other people while my wife is having an affair to help untether and maybe build my value even more?"
Then I am willing to bet that your idea/understanding/approach to untethering is all off.
      - That's not what it means to untether.
      - You don't untether that way.
      - You don't create value by doing that
And you cannot attach yourself to the process is you don't know what the processes are my guy.
I made a video on untethering recently. Go watch my latest video.

I love that the little girl showed up. It shows how real the people are. This is amazing stuff. My wife is having an affair and I am honestly struggling. I am trying to move past it and be that brighter lighthouse. Thank you for the video. Thank you so much. They are an immense help. I wish I could give back in some way more than these simple comments.

Keep going I’m in the same situation brother and have so much peace and faith in this process now. Don’t let anything take you off this path and you will thrive and have whatever woman you want.

This is remarkable. Similar conversations I’ve had with my ex. We never married but had a child together. I often didn’t create any safety and that’s what she found with another man. These last 6 months have been difficult but building my bullet proof vest has been my goal. These videos are soo eye opening . Similarities that worked out when only 1 is trying. Inspiring.

I find the best thing that helped me get out of a victim mindset was to start thinking that I stopped expecting the world to make me happy and to serve me I just took that task into my own hands and started enjoying my me time more than anything else that way if u stop expecting the world to make u happy u also stop it from making u sad and hence you stop victimising and pitying yourself

I agree with the reality of this discussion. Only thing I didn't like is it should be acknowledged that cheating is solely and fully the fault of the cheater. They made those choices. They bear that specific accountability for those decisions. That being said. Everything else discussed here it about building a strong long lasting relationship, and trying to repair and heal from damage that has been dealt on both sides. Additionally, the common theme here is constantly being involved in the process of self improvement and the idea that self improvement improves all relationships in your life.

I’ve been hit with the same thing… a little different, but my ex wanted to take a break three weeks ago and now granted we had a very stable relationship I was always caring and supportive of her and she says she still loved me and wants me but she hooked up with a guy and it’s heart wrenching because I’ve only been trying to level up more. She’s conflicted with what she wants and so idk what to do at this point. She seems very lost about it and what she wants, yet she still says she loves me and wants me so I’m confused as to what is happening.

Finish-line mentality, in and out of the bedroom, drives women away; it’s a turn off.

Right! Major turn-off for my partner back then. And this finish-line mentality can manifest in so many areas of the relationship!

Geoffrey my wife had an affair 2 years ago. We are still together but I’m pushing her away maybe because I still obsess over it. I’m now mentally abusing her I think. I love her but hate what she did. Is your class something that can help me ? Every therapist I talk too are crazy lol

This class would be for you. It essentially helps you to see the world in a much healthier way, and how to act healthy. These actions and mindsets are very powerful, and are constantly adapting to your everyday situation. The program will allow you to take control over your feelings and guide them to where they need to be, so that you can take proper action. In your case, it would change how you see the affair, and start seeing how she's hurting as well. And then you'll learn how to fix that. There's a lot you don't see, because you don't ask the right questions.

What if she already has a friends with benefits and he’s a loser ? I can’t trust her to pick a proper partner right now because I was depressed for 2 years and treated her poorly so anyone that gives her more then bare minimum it will seem like a lot to her and I will lose. I have done the work and continue to do the work but she won’t let me prove it to her. I truly want to fully commit to marrying her and continue therapy and doing the work for the rest of our lives and this is what she wanted before but now she is enjoying her freedom I guess.
I also couldn’t really give her this option you’re talking about because she has a high sex drive and will continue to let men have a piece of her that don’t deserve it. I don’t think this method is going to work for me… she’s going to keep filling her needs by partying, drinking and having sex with other men. If I don’t get her back, I’m not going to want her back later and she truly is my soulmate and bestfriend, I’ve never been closer to someone in my entire life. I saved her from casual hook ups and drinking and partying but after the break up she is back at it. We were together for 5 years.
