    • @TheFlexxGarage

      It’s does slightly. A tad louder but the 4cyl engine already sounds kinda crappy. So it’s not like it’s a great “louder”.
      I’m going to install some new mufflers soon. So hopefully the car really sounds better. There will be a video on it.

      Not worth it on a c300 4 banger. Cost a lot and cost a lot to install. Better off taking that money and getting a tune.
      Aftermarket headers will probably screw with the fuel to air ratio and cause more headaches for little gains on this car.

      Go to FCPeuro.com and put in the details of your car. The search result will show the plugs for your car. I would recommend to just get the oem Mercedes ones that they offer, instead of the aftermarket branded ones.

      It’s tough. The c300 engine and exhaust sounds like junk cause it’s not really a “sports” car to begin with.
      I already have an after intake, and im putting on a new blowoff valve soon, and im going to install some valves mufflers. So we’ll see how that sounds. Stay tuned.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Месяц назад

      Get a sticker? What you mean a sticker. Like an inspection sticker?
      1) to pass emissions, your car needs a catalytic converter.
      2) i have a “high flow catted downpipe” which has a high flow catalytic converter. It’s not a “catless downpipe” which has no cat and is basically illegal in most states and will not pass inspection.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  5 месяцев назад +1

      No. The aftermarket high-flow cat just make the stock exhaust’s existing sound, sound a tad louder. And the stock exhaust sound doesn’t not sound that great to begin with. Lol.
      I’m in the process of upgrading my mufflers. Gonna try to get a video on my channel in next few weeks.

    Hey bro, my name is David.
    I wanted to ask you how much of a difference the torando tuning downpipe made to the sound of the exhaust compared to stock, if you don't mind sharing with me any kind of details you can. I've installed a butterfly valve/cutoff valve on my exhaust, right after the cat because I live in California and I would like to avoid pissing off cops/people with the sound. Will it be too loud- even with the valve closed? I like how it sounds when I open it up but I wish i was able to make it burble a little more, sometimes it does- but most of the time it just REALLY wants to, but it comes out muffled. I also have a JB4 piggyback tune installed. So yeah, I was wondering if I installed that high flow downpipe, would it allow the pops and burbles to come out a little better? And will the car be too loud with essentially just the tornado tuning downpipe? Thank you Alex! Have a good day.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 месяца назад +1

      The downpipe on my exhaust setup didn’t do much. Maybe a little more raspy. It’s still a downpipe with a catalytic converter so it’s not gonna change the sound that much. Performance wise, it helps move a lot more exhaust gasses out much quicker because it’s packed with much less cells then an OEM cat.
      My car was tuned later after this video, for pops and bangs. The pops and bangs are much loud and more “treble” then if the pops/bangs were on a stock system. That would sound muffled.

    • @davegtown
      @davegtown 2 месяца назад

      @ Awesome! So I’m understanding that it will add a little more rasp, but not much- although it provides more power. And you say you didn’t get pops and bangs until you tuned for it right? I’m told that pop and bang tunes can damage cats that have cells, since this one has a lesser amount of cells is it safer to do?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 месяца назад +1

      Pops and bangs will ruin any car. Lol. You’re making denotations in the exhaust where denotations aren’t suppose to take place.
      On my car, it’s not an aggressive tune. Need to really get the rpms real high and let off for the pops and bangs. Most of the time I drive in comfort mode and there’s no noise. Once in a blue moon I’ll get on the gas and let it rip. Based on my driving style, the car will be fine.
      Now if your car is aggressively tuned like those Beamer kids with those machine “pew” pops and bangs, doesn’t matter if you have a cat or not, your car will Fvck up way way quicker with those types of tunes. And with the terrible driving style, wanting to always race everyone and show off in front of a crowd, the car will be toast. I’m not about that life.

    What’s up Flex! I’m in Australia with my 2017 Mercedes c200 w205 working on some cool mods, some of which have been inspired by your channel :). I’m wondering if you know if it’s possible to convert the rear bumper to some a little bit less tacky as the stock bumper has dual fake exhausts which I think is really lame. I’ve done a bit of searching online but the only results I found was for AMG models. Ideally I would just change the style of the bumper to actually show the exhausts and maybe put some tips instead of hiding them behind the bumper on the left side (maybe different in the US). I also wouldn’t mind upgrading the full exhaust system if I have to as the sound coming from stock is pretty lame. I feel like you would agree. Do you know of anywhere that makes parts to do what I’m wanting?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Год назад +1

      Nahh. No point. As stated in the video, the sound change is barely noticeable. It’s a hi-flow cat, not gonna get a sound change especially with the stock resonators and stock muffler intact. If it was a catless downpipe with a resonator delete, then it would drastically change the sound of the exhaust.
      My stage 2 Audi A4 has a high flow cat with a resonator delete downpipe. Now that changed my exhaust note a lot but the droning sucks! I can’t wait to put a resonator back in.

      I rarely wanna get under my car. I use to do it all the time...in very dangerous situations when I think about it...but now that im older with more to lose, no way I'll get under my cars under jackstands. I'll work on a corner at a time on things but never under a lifted car in the front, back, or all 4s. Some may talk crap about that to me but its not them under my car. If I can afford for a shop to do it, I'll pay rather then playing the risking game to save a few bucks.
