Man, I am 59 years old and have been playing for 48 years. This is the most awesome tool I have ever seen. You know how many hours I spent picking out all parts of songs? Then playing them and faking what I thought I heard on stage for years. I would give a foot to be 25 with this technology. Unbelievable! So too all young guitarist, use it! Omg. Class of 1983. I spent hours and hours everyday after high school trying to learn songs off records... I saved up for a whole year to get the best Technics direct drive turntable I could b/c it had the strobe light pitch control. But of course u had to tune down. Yeah this would’ve been a miracle.
@@skeeterbodeen8326 Then you know what I mean. I wonder how many young players today would have stuck it out if they had to learn the way we did. These young guy have it so much easier. Well on the bright side it made us solid players because we had to work so much harder. Maybe it was for the best. I know this much the new music we got to listen to and learn was so much better than 99% of the crap and rap they have now. It seems like every kid today calls themselves a rapper. It makes me laugh. @@stephenlandry9343 Not to belabor the point, but yes I do believe that having to figure it out for ourselves developed our ear and forced us to be creative to "make" those sounds... +these musicians are so far above our skill and ability yet modern music is pityful... Check out Polypiha, these guys are amazing technically but there music is complex and fragmented it has -0- groove to me IMHO..

Just tried this on AiC's "All Secrets Known." Wow, this is the first app I've used where when you reduce/eliminate the vocals it doesn't sacrifice much else. Excellent app, thanks for passing that along!

Getting everyone to a rehearsal is sometimes difficult, so we use professional backing track to fill in the gaps, keeps everyone on tempo too, and buy backing tracks, which we can cut individual instruments out, be interested to see how this compares.
I use Chronotron for this. No need to upload anything and there is no subscription fee. One time purchase. It can separate tracks using AI, slow down, change keys. Works with the music library on your computer and can download from the tube.
On the free version (not sure about premium) you cannot use tracks in your Apple Music library subscription; only tracks you've specifically bought. Please correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I've found using the iPhone app... Looks like a great tool though Marty and excellent video.!
This is very, very cool! Just paid for the premium version. First song I tried was Ticket to Ride by The Beatles. I guess because they only had a 4 track machine to record from in those days, the "Other" Track was a little bit muddled. Going to try it on an 8 or 16 track recording and see if the separation is a little better. Still, it worked remarkably well for that 4 track song.

As someone who's learning guitar, this will make it so easy for me to take a song I want to learn and extract a drum track (or other parts) to play along with. What a great way to learn both the song and how to stay in tempo.
I’m a guitar player and I use it to make backing tracks for me to play to, but I also use it to isolate the guitar so I can hear exactly what they are doing(nuances etc.), and also to slow things down
A mate put me onto Moises a few months back and it's amazing. Brilliant software and sooooooo good for learning and playing songs you love. Also gives you great insight into constructing songs when you hear tracks in isolation. Yeah love it and so groovy. Currently rockin out to Plush by Stone Temple Pilots.
Yes!!! I would love for Marty to cover a Smiths song lesson!! Johnny Marr is a often underrated and overlooked guitarist, but his style, technique, and capabilities are not only incredible, but not easy to duplicate by just looking up the chords online, what he’s actually playing is much more advanced and sophisticated
It's pretty cool out but it's kind of limited to five separations and you have to go to a lot of hoops to get the right separations to take out guitar in the vocals sometimes the only way to take out the lead guitar is to take out both guitars and sometimes you need the rhythm guitar for the intro some songs have no drums or any other instruments through the first verse I've had the app for a couple years now it actually helped me with a couple of that some of my regulars had that I could not buy at my local backing I keep the app hoping for the upgrade to come it's not a bad it just needs some work and by the way Marty love your channel love your I've learned a lot of songs for you you're a great teacher keep and may you have a Merry Christmas

yup a great app but to save you from always raising and lowering the volume of each track as shown in your video all you have to do is click the icon of each track and it will automatically mute it…when it first came out you were able to copy any youtube link and insert it into the moises app….but you can no longer do that….i presume they ran into some legal obstacle about copyrights etc…i record tunes from any music streaming app into my DAW then save the track as a wav..then insert it into Moises and magic happens

Marty, I use this maybe 2x a week. I have 3 emails linked for my free 15 per month. Love, love love this program. I have even worked a 8 minute KingDiamond tune. I recorded the backing tracks to my Tascam model 12, 🥁, bass and vocials. I play guitar hero and record over the track with me. The program is almost 99% on the 💰. My phone takes 5min to turn over a tune. My desktop takes maybe 2 minutes max. I have made close to 75 80s metal, rock backing tracks.

I’ve tried free version of this app. It’s ok. At least when isolating bass parts it can sound muffled or garbled enough to make it not really as easy to pick out. Better than not having that capability but certainly room for improvement in sound quality.
This is where I regret getting rid of my CD collection in favour of just using Spotify. I've hardly got any of them as MP3 so couldn't use this for much.

I will be looking into this. The hardest thing for me about learning a song by ear is being able to hear the guitar when its all in the mix.

It will not split a rhythm guitar that needs to play during a solo section. Its only very basic usage. I have best use with ripx.

I have this APP. You’ll have to pay if you want all the tracks separated . Also, you’ll have to own the songs in order to upload it.
Hey Marty does GarageBand use backing tracks like that of different artists that way I can use some of their amps and their effects
